There are many such places in the world where people from far and wide go to visit and enjoy there. But imagine what would happen if such a tourist destination suddenly becomes deserted and people start calling it a ghost town? One such city exists in Cyprus. There was a time when an area of this city was so famous that celebrities and common people used to visit here. But the city has been deserted for 40 years. The question arises that where did the people go from here?
According to the Daily Star report, Varosha is a quiet city on the coast of Cyprus, named Famagusta. There is an area in this city called Varosha. This area was a very famous tourist destination. Many rich and big celebrities have come here for holidays. There were many big hotels, stylish restaurants, and crowded streets. People used to call it the French Riveria of Cyprus. But now this area is completely empty. For this reason it is called ghost town. Neither tourists come nor anyone lives here. The roads are quiet, buildings have been destroyed, hotels and shops have also been destroyed. Tourists are prevented from going to this area.

Because of this the condition of the city became like this!
Now the question arises that how did this condition of this city happen? Actually, the downfall of Varosha had started from 1974. In fact, in 1974, there was violence sponsored by Greece in Cyprus which led to a coup there. At the same time Turkey captured Cyprus. The city of Famagusta is in the middle of this violence. As soon as Turkish troops entered the country, citizens of Greece and Cyprus abandoned Varosha and fled to save their lives. People left everything behind. There was food in utensils, wedding gifts were not opened, children’s toys were lying on the ground. Many families thought that he would return, but he could not return.
This city is still deserted
After the occupation, the Turkish Army closed the entire area. Barbed wire was installed and soldiers were deployed around Varosha. No one was allowed to go inside. Gradually nature showed itself and trees and plants grew in the city, moss grew on the walls and the city started looking as if it had stopped in time. Even after 40 years, Varosha is completely empty. Warning signs are still seen in cities, which say that it is forbidden to go inside or it is forbidden to take photographs. However, after 2003, some former citizens were allowed to enter some parts of the city. What they saw there was very surprising. Old cars were present inside the showroom, the glass windows of the shops were broken. Hotels were damaged, rooms were empty. Now turtles lay eggs on the beach of Varosha. Plants grow on the balconies of the hotel. The United Nations says that only genuine citizens can live there. What will be the outcome here, only time will tell.
