Paras Dogra KV Anish Headbutt Controversy: Jammu and Kashmir’s good batting was spoiled by the head butt controversy of captain Paras Dogra. On the second day of the Ranji Trophy final, Paras Dogra deliberately hit Karnataka’s substitute player KV Anish with his head. After which the atmosphere became heated. After the second day’s play, Paras said that it is not a big deal. However, Paras can be fined for this.

Hubli. Captain Paras Dogra played a brilliant inning of 70 runs, but his act of deliberately headbutting Karnataka player KV Anish spoiled the good batting of Jammu and Kashmir. At stumps on the second day of the Ranji Trophy final, Jammu and Kashmir scored 527 runs for six wickets. Along with Dogra, wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan (70) and Sahil Lottra (57 not out) also played well, which made the day difficult for Karnataka bowlers. Only Prasidh Krishna (three wickets for 90 runs in 29 overs) was effective. However, the behavior of Dogra, a Ranji player for 21 seasons, surprised everyone.
After taking a boundary off Prasidh’s ball, Anish, who was fielding at ‘Silly Point’, was pushed by Dogra on his head, which was captured on camera. It was not clear whether Dogras were angry with anything Anish said. He argued with Aneesh and then pushed his head on his helmet. After this Mayank Agarwal came in between and stood between the two. Agarwal was seen talking to Dogra, then umpires Rohan Pandit and Ulhas Gandhe calmed down the matter. After some time, Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal was also seen talking to the umpires and complaining about Dogra.
Since it involved touching a player of the opposing team, Dogra may face some punishment from BCCI match referee Narayan Kutty. The day started well for Karnataka as the night’s centurion Shubham Pundir (121 runs in 247 balls) was out early. A flick from Pundir on the ball of Vidyadhar Patil (1 wicket for 104 runs) went straight into the hands of Anish, ending the 124-run partnership. Pundir had hit 12 fours and two sixes in the innings.
Abdul Samad (61), who scored a half-century on the first day, was out on the ball of Prasidh. Jammu and Kashmir’s score was 307 runs for four wickets, then experienced Dogra and Wadhawan, who is searching for the team this season, together made a partnership of 110 runs in 32 overs. Prasidh was bowling well, but both of them hit some brilliant boundaries on him. Both played cautiously and did not give wickets to the Indian Test bowlers. But when leg spinner Shreyas Gopal (one wicket) and left arm spinner Shikhar Shetty (one wicket) started bowling, both of them did not face any problem.
Paras Dogra may be fined 50 percent of his match fee.
Dogra hit eight fours in his innings in 166 balls, while Wadhawan hit nine fours in 109 balls. After some time, Wadhawan was caught out by KL Rahul in the slip off Shetty’s ball. Then Dogra made a partnership of 54 runs with Lottra. There are four overs left to take the third new ball and Karnataka bowlers would like to restrict Jammu and Kashmir below 600.
