The 34th Taj Mahotsav will begin colorfully on Wednesday evening at 6 pm to the tune of Vande Mataram in the shadow of the Taj Mahal. The stage has been set for a wonderful confluence of art, craft and culture. This festival, which will run till 27th February, is being organized for the first time at Tata Maidan on Fatehabad Road instead of Shilpgram.

District Magistrate Arvind Bangari said that the festival was inaugurated by Union Minister of State Prof. SP Singh Baghel, Cabinet Minister Baby Rani Maurya and Cabinet Minister Yogendra Upadhyay will do it jointly. In this festival dedicated to the campaign of Vocal for Local, a glimpse of Mini India will be visible on 500 stalls.

Taj Mahotsav Committee Secretary Shakti Singh said that this festival is truly going to prove to be a big platform for the skilled people across the country. 500 stalls have been set up here showing the glimpse of self-reliant India. Where apart from one district-one product from 50 districts of the state, the best products of Khadi, Jute and handloom will be available. From Pashmina shawls of Kashmir to silk of Banaras, tourists will get to see the craftsmanship of entire India under one roof.

Neeraj Sridhar and Krishna-Abhishek will create magic

A huge digital open space platform has been prepared to add entertainment to the festival. In the series of cultural programs, famous singer Neeraj Sridhar’s Bollywood Night will be held on 22nd February. Krishna-Abhishek’s comedy night on 26th February will enthrall the audience. On the closing evening on 27th February, the duo of Sachin-Jigar will spread the magic of tunes. Apart from this, Indian Ocean Band, Sufi singing of Ali Brothers and devotional evening of Madhwaj Band will be the center of attraction.

Qawwali will resonate in Sikri and bhajans will resonate in Bateshwar.

This time tourism has been expanded rather than limited to just the city. On 21st February, Nizami brothers will present their qawwali at the historical monument of Fatehpur Sikri. At the same time, on 23rd February, there will be nectar rain of Mishra Bandhu’s bhajans in the ancient temples of Bateshwar.

Local talents will also get global platform

Regional Tourism Officer Shakti Singh said that the objective of the festival is to encourage local artists. Artists from Braj will perform every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Apart from this, events like bike and car rally, Yamuna Maha Aarti and wildlife exhibition between 20th to 22nd February will write a new story of tourism in Tajnagari.

Free entry for children up to 3 years of age

Entry will be free for foreign tourists.

The fee for school group up to 50 children is Rs 700.

There will be surveillance through 200 policemen and CCTV cameras.
