Sikandar Kumar saw that a woman was trying to jump into the Ganga with her 3-month-old daughter on the Vikramshila bridge. Without wasting any time the SI grabbed the woman’s saree and pulled her. Police have identified the woman as Jeera Devi, resident of Raghopur Bahtra, Navgachia. The victim told that her husband Saurav keeps having arguments every day over his conversation with another girl. Due to this, her husband beats her and even on the day of the incident, he drives her away from the house, telling her to go somewhere and die.
The woman had a love marriage
Breaking from this mental torture, she had come to jump from the bridge into the Ganga with her three-month old innocent girl. The victim told that she had a love marriage with Saurav, a resident of Shankarpur, 10 years ago. He has 2 children. A 5 year old son and a 3 month old daughter. The woman said that now she will never take such a step. She will work hard to support her children.
