A BJP delegation led by Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur met His Excellency Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhawan. Also, a detailed memorandum was submitted regarding the interference in the statutory action of Delhi Police in the AI Impact Summit 2026 case and the alleged political misuse of the police machinery by the state government.
While talking to the media during the meeting with the Governor, Jairam Thakur said that the Prime Minister in Delhi Narendra Modi The AI Impact Summit organized under the leadership of AI took new heights to India’s prestige on the world stage. India’s image emerged strongly in the presence of heads of state of more than 20 countries and heads of global technology companies. But on the same platform, an attempt was made by Youth Congress leaders to tarnish the image of the country by performing half naked. He alleged that this demonstration took place on the instructions of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. He said that one reason for this effort of the police was to get the DVR and documents seized by the Delhi Police from the hotel because there is a fear of revealing the secrets of all the conspirators through the DVR itself. Who met him during this period, who brought him there. If it were revealed who provided them the facilities, the government would have been exposed.
Booking of rooms was done through CM office – Jairam Thakur
Jairam Thakur said that an FIR was registered in Delhi regarding this anti-national act and Delhi Police initiated legal action. He alleged that some Youth Congress leaders involved in this episode were given shelter in Himachal Sadan and the Chief Minister himself has admitted that the booking of the rooms was done through the Chief Minister’s Office. This is a clear indication that protection was given in an organized manner.
He told that when Delhi Police got evidence that some accused were hiding in Himachal Pradesh, the police reached Chanshal Valley Hotel in Rohru and arrested Saurabh Singh (Amethi, Uttar Pradesh), Arwaj (Kanpur) and Siddharth (Madhya Pradesh). Jairam Thakur raised the question that despite not having any permanent connection with Himachal, how did they reach here. He asked whether they were provided safe haven through political patronage and government resources.
Delhi Police was stopped in an unconstitutional manner – Jairam
Jairam Thakur alleged that after reaching Dharampur, Delhi Police was stopped unconstitutionally and an FIR for kidnapping was registered against him at 8:11 pm. Whereas he had statutory documents, seizure report and court orders. Even after the magistrate gave transit remand, Delhi Police was stopped and an attempt was made to seize the vehicle. The confrontation continued for about 24 hours. Putting the police of two states face to face is a direct attack on the federal structure.
The Leader of Opposition said that if the state government has used the police machinery for political reasons then it is a violation of the oath of the Constitution. He alleged that the Himachal government is working at the behest of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and Devbhoomi has been made a political sanctuary.

Jairam Thakur has demanded from the Governor that a high-level inquiry should be conducted into this entire incident through the Central Government, there should be an independent inquiry into the role of the Chief Minister’s Office and strict action should be ensured against the guilty officials and those giving political protection. He said that this matter is not just about an arrest, but about India’s international reputation and the rule of law.
