A large conspiracy to spoil communal harmony in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh has been exposed. Meerut police arrested Feroz, a resident of Aligarh, who spread rumors on social media under the name ‘saffron love trap’.
The accused used to upload and upload videos of Muslim women and claim that ‘saffron love trap’ was being run by Hindu youths, causing religious tension to the society. In this case, BJP MLA from Ghaziabad, Nand Kishore Gurjar, has given sharp reaction and said to encounter such people.
What is the whole matter?
The matter came to light on 28 April when a Muslim student of Chaudhary Charan Singh University lodged a complaint with police station. Offensive comments were made by uploading her video with classmate on the Internet and it was linked to ‘saffron love trap’, which hurt the student’s social reputation. On the complaint, the investigation of Instagram ID revealed that it was operated by Feroze of Aligarh.
Police investigation revealed that Feroze was running several social media accounts, where he used to upload objectionable materials. In these posts, it was claimed that by marrying Hindu youths, Muslim women would be returned to Muslim religion after conversion.
Its purpose was to spread communal tension. Cyber investigation also revealed that Feroze was trying to raise funding from abroad by calling himself a ‘contractor of religion’, so that poison could be dissolved in the society.
Gang revealed, Other names of Meerut in front
In interrogation after the arrest, Feroze revealed the names of some other youths of Meerut, who was his companion in this conspiracy. The police is investigating these names thoroughly and is trying to catch the entire gang.
SSP Dr. Vipin Tada said that the accused was arrested by raiding in Aligarh and Bihar. The inquiry is going on so that its network and purpose can be fully disclosed. Intelligence agencies are also monitoring the matter. There was already a case against Feroze in Meerut, after which he fled to Bihar.
Controversial statement of BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar
BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar, who reached Meerut on the matter, reacted strongly. He said that a complete encounter of such conspiracy should be done. Police should shoot at such people.
His statement has gone viral on social media and opposition parties have described it as inciting communal frenzy. Gurjar insisted that those who spoil peace in the society should not be considered less than any punishment.
Police vigilance
Meerut Police has increased the surveillance on social media with the help of cyber cell. SSP Tada warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who spread the rumors.
