Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned from the Legislative Council on Monday (March 30, 2026). Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh has confirmed this. It is also said that his resignation has been accepted. Further process is going on. Now RJD has reacted on this. RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav has said that now his (Nitish Kumar) party will be completely destroyed.
Shakti Yadav said, “Now will JDU party remain? And will it last for long? There will be so many fragments of JDU that it will be difficult to unite JDU. Now are there any weighty leaders in that party? Those supporting his party and people of Nitish Kumar’s caste are believing that now JDU will end.”
‘Principle does not matter…chair is supreme’
Shakti Yadav said that he had to resign because he had become a member of the Rajya Sabha, but for 20 years he has been misleading the people of Bihar and becoming the Chief Minister as per the circumstances. If we look at his Chief Ministership, principles had no meaning for him, the chair was paramount.
Shakti Yadav also cornered BJP. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has taken a long step. Nitish Kumar is so trapped in the trap laid by BJP that it is no longer possible for him to escape. Where will he go after leaving? He termed the end of Nitish Kumar’s political journey as tragic.
Making a scathing attack on Nitish Kumar, he said that if there is any leader who can ignore the principles of Ram Manohar Lohia and Karpoori Thakur, it is Nitish Kumar. Regarding BJP in the House, he had said that these are the people who had removed Karpoori Thakur from power and the same Nitish Kumar did everything to remain in power to gain power. Those who are reading your (Nitish) ballads, those who have been around you, those are the people who are praising you, those are the people who have been successful in giving you a place in Delhi.
