For Gadgets 360, we have been requesting for reviews for the review of new smartphones with budget priced continuously, but it is not possible for us to check every phone. Today we have Rashmi Group’s subsidiary Reach Mobiles Reach aloor smart fone. This budget smartphone priced at around Rs 5,000 has been introduced as an iconic smartphone.
Look and design
According to its price, plastic body has been used instead of metal body in the alor. At first glance it gives an iPhone -like look and we think it has been deliberately made like a iPhone -like design. This phone is available in four color variants of iPhone (including Rose Gold). However, along with the quality of plastic, fit and finish is also not very spectacular. There is also a slight gap in plastic around the curved aase of the display. A physical home button has been given for navigation at the bottom and is a 5 megapixel camera at the top. The ring around the home button is made with the intention of giving a look like Apple’s touchID fingerprint sensor. But this is not a sensor. There is no notification LED in the phone.
The 5.5 inch QHD (540×960 pixels) given in this phone is not very bad except for its resolution. Brightness level is also fine but the screen wash out in sunlight. There is also a slight gap between the outer glass and actual display that can be seen while pressing on the screen. For this reason, the touch response in the phone is quite useless and sometimes the phone cans a tap gesture like a swipe. To meet the deficiency of protective glass, a screen guard already arrives on the alire display.
Micro-USB and headphone shocks are given upwards in the Reach Alore smartphone while there is a single speaker at the bottom. Volume and power buttons are not very well placed and do not run easily. Rear cover is not easy to remove but once you remove it, you can see two SIM card slots and a microSD card slot with removable battery. The 10 -megapixel rear camera single LED flash has been given in the aloor smartphone.
On purchasing Reach Alure you will find a power adapter, data cable and a flip cover in the box. The quality of the cable is good but the flip case is of extremely poor quality. If the case lasts for a month, then you should consider yourself lucky. Overall, the alire is made of extremely poor quality materials. Plastic fit and finish could be improved further. In our view, any user will buy this smartphone online only because it looks like an iPhone.
Specification and software
The Reach Alore phone has a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT 6580 processor. This phone has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage, storage can be increased through microSD card (up to 32 GB). This phone of Reich has features like Wi-Fi B/G/N, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio and GPS. The phone does not support 4G and only 3G will work on both SIMs.
Talk about software, this phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with custom launcher. You get an option to choose an app drar and transition effect in the phone. The multi-pasa home button works for different functions but it depends on how you press it. In an app where a single press takes you a step back, an additional setting opens from the long press and from the double press you reach the home screen. However, if you are on the home screen then you will reach the recent app from the double press while the menu will open from the Long Press where you can customize wallpapers, themes and second settings. The home button performs very poorly and has to make a lot of efforts to use it.
Along with this, Reich has also included some gesture-based shortcuts so that you can run the app when the screen is off. The phone consists of Vichat, WhatsApp and some other Google app pre-install.
Performance
Reach Alore is not very convenient to use due to its size but the good thing is that it is quite light. Despite having 1 GB of RAM, the interface does not make much trouble. Sometimes the smartphone suddenly stops and you may have to wait a little to use back. In benchmark testing, we got good data from the phone. We did not face any problem in playing 3D games in this phone of Reach nor did we face any kind of heating problem.
The stock video player has been given to play video in this smartphone. Full-HD video can be played in the phone, but we had problems in playing some high-bitrate files. The music player is in the form of an old version of Android so it is not very appealing but can do his work. Out of 8 GB of inbuilt storage, 4.7 GB is the use of user.
The phone is said to have a 10 -megapixel autofocus rear camera and the same specifications have been told in everywhere and listing. But the footnote written on the back side on its box states that ‘the camera can be increased through software’. In our benchmarking test, we came to know about the 8 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera from the phone. Apart from this, we captured some raw files from the phone camera using the engineeringmod app from the Play Store and we came to know about the 8 megapixel camera. It is not bad to have an 8 megapixel camera in an entry level smartphone and in our view the phone was done to show the phone better.
Photos taken at both resolution from the phone’s camera are less than average quality. The most problem is the slow focus in the phone, which makes it difficult to take a sharp picture. Slight motion also has a lewd picture. The camera does not bring the right color and the pictures are very dull. The phone has a burst shooting (up to 10 shots) feature but the capture speed is very slow.
A maximum of 1080 pixels can be recorded from both the cameras of the phone. The quality here is also less than average. A selfie taken from the front camera also disappoints.
battery life
The Reach Alor has a 2600 mAh battery which supported our video loop test for 5 hours and 27 minutes. This is very low compared to the second smartphone. During general use, we were able to run this phone in less than one day.
Our decision
The Reach Alore is priced at Rs 5,444 and is currently available exclusively on online retailer shopcluys. It is very difficult to tell any kind of special feature in this phone and this phone performs less than average in every case. Infocus bingo 10 ,Review) Compare to, aloire has a large and bright display that can make some customers unlike.
We can see that this phone can attract people who want a cheap iPhone clone but there is no other reason to buy it. The build quality of the phone is extremely bad. Battery life and camera are fine and performance is also not good. 4G deficiency is also unlikely.
