Unite 4 Pro to a few months ago Launched Was. We have reviewed this phone. The smartphone is not only for the budget segment customers, but the company is trying to woo India’s non-English customers who can take advantage of the company’s customized OS.
In the market for Rs 7,999 Lenovo Vibe’s 5 PlusXiaomi Redmi 3S and Moto G4 Play Like popular phones exist. What Micromax Unite 4 Pro Is the unique language feature enough to make him the leader of the market? Let’s know.
Micromax Unite 4 Pro Design & Build
It seems that Micromax has achieved the correct formula to design smartphone, because the Unite 4 Pro is a good looking phone. Nothing is unprecedented in the design. To be honest, if the logo of the brand is not present on the phone, then it looks like another phone of a Chinese company. The metal back panel gives it a light premium look, which will be called good.
The color reproduction and viewing angles of the 5 inch IPS display are good. However, fingers and other stains on it are attached to it. Cleaning it again and again can cause trouble. HD resolution in this screen size is not bad. Brightness is good and we did not have trouble using the phone even in outdoor.
The space in the bottom of the display is wasted, due to which it seems longer than expected. It seems that there should be a capicitav button, while the company has given onscreen buttons.
The metal rear cover can be removed. Here you will see SIM card and microSD card slots. However, the battery cannot be separated from the handset. You will have difficulty in removing the rear cover. It is slightly complicated. The rear of the phone has a fingerprint scanner. It is accompanied by speakers and camera modules.
The Canvas comes with the Unite Pro 7.5 Watt adapter, data cable and guidelines booklet. Overall, we liked the design and build of this device. Due to texture and size, it will also be comfortable to use it with one hand.
Micromax Unite 4 Pro Specification and Feature
Micromax has used the MediaTek quad-core spreadtrum (SC 9832) chipset in the handset. Mali-400 GPU is integrated for graphics. Honestly, it is not a great processor. Many times Android slows down which is also seen in the results of the benchmark test. The results of the Answer and 3D Mark Ice Storm Test came down compared to the common MediaTek chipset.
The handset consists of 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, Wi-Fi B/G/N, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio and USB OTG. Both SIM slots support 4G LTE. However, Voice over LTE feature is not present.
The most unique feature of the Unite 4 Pro is its Indus OS 2.0 feature. It is a regional OS based on Android. Micromax has also used this OS in the handsets of Canvas and Bolt Series. Support for a total of 12 regional languages has been provided in the new OS. This is good for those who are not very comfortable with English.
The OS is designed with understanding. Parts of the launcher and selected apps such as SMS have been customized, everything else is like stock Android. During the initial setup you can choose your primary language. Apart from this, mother tongue can also be decided. And you can easily swap between the two. This is not limited to changing language just. Indus Swipe SMS app will translate and translite the text into your mother tongue from the English language. This feature only works in SMS app. However, in the rest of the app, you have to use Indus keyboard to translate the text into regional language.
Indus reader is a text to speech converter platform. With its help, you will be able to hear the text written in 9 different languages. The Indus keyboard has native language word prevention and autopercare features. The good thing is that you can type your message in English and transliterate it before sending it. Translation in the language of your choice to English will not always be completely correct, but it is very effective in rapidly responding.
Another unique feature app is the market that shows you the app in the language of your choice. With its help, you will also be able to buy the app. And the money will be connected in the mobile bill. This feature will like those users who do not want to use credit cards to buy the app. Currently it works with features, Idea and Vodafone.
Micromax Unite 4 Pro Performance
The Unite 4 Pro is a good phone for common use. Its texture is comfortable and it is not warm during use. Common performance is not bad, but this chipset is not fully capable of multitasking. Many times the phone will face the problem of slowing down. The app takes a little longer for the load. For example, when we were setup of the fingerprint sensor, the phone refused to start the registration process, as many apps were being downloaded in the background.
Talking about the fingerprint sensor, the fingerprint sensor is slow in response and it is not completely accurate. We faced many problems while using the phone. The phone easily played full-HD videos, but the quality of voice was less than average. The speaker has such a loud voice that you can hear the alert. Nothing more than this. The earphones purchased from the market were also lower than the audio quality average. The song music streaming app is a default music player.
The 8 megapixel rear camera focuses rapidly in daylight. Good colors come in pictures. The app repeatedly sharpens photos. You will realize this to zoom in pictures. The speed of focusing in low light decreases. The lack of details in the pictures taken in the indoor is also evident. However, there is not much noise in the photos.
It is possible to record a maximum of 1080 pixels videos from the rear camera. And 480 pixels with a 5 megapixel front camera. The quality of selfie was good in the appropriate light. The camera app is mainly similar to the Google Camera App. It is very easy to use. You will get features like HDR and Panorama.
The 3900 mAh battery in the phone lasted 13 hours 14 minutes in our video loop test. We will consider it good. However, we expected more battery life while looking at the weak chipset. The phone battery in common use lasted easily for a day. Charging is very slow. It took at least 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged.
Our decision
The Micromax Unite 4 Pro is priced at Rs 7,999. However, it seems a bit more given the total performance of the phone. This phone works well in some things like battery life. OS users will like this. Design and texture is good. Native language integration is excellent and is a feature defined by the phone.
The Unite 4 Pro is less powerful than expected in this price range. You will not get excellent Android experience in this. Due to weak audio quality, slow fingerprint reader and average camera quality, we cannot suggest you to buy it.
If the price is cut, it can be considered to buy this phone. If the feature with language support is not very important for you, then there are many affordable options for Micromax and other mobile manufacturer companies in the market.
