According to the information so far, the Afghan army has attacked Nangarhar-Khyber border and Kunar-Bajaur border with heavy weapons since 9.30 pm. Afghan army is using tanks, artillery, rockets and mortars. The Taliban government spokesperson has claimed that the Afghan army has captured 7 posts of Pakistan. Taliban soldiers are now present at 2 outposts near Nangarhar border, 3 outposts near Goshta border and 2 outposts on Kunar border. Afghan army is running operations 201 Khalid bin Walid Brigade and 205 Al Badr Brigade against Pakistan.

Pakistan did airstrike on Afghanistan

Pakistan had carried out an airstrike on Afghanistan on 22 February. Pak Army fighter jets targeted several targets in Khogyani and Ghani Khel districts of Nangarhar province and Bermal and Argun districts of Patika province, claiming the death of 16 civilians from the same family. The Taliban had expressed strong objection to this action of Pakistan and had warned of giving a necessary and strong response when the time came.

India had strongly condemned Pakistan’s airstrike in Afghanistan. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said, ‘India strongly condemns Pakistan’s air strikes on Afghan soil during the holy month of Ramzan, which have resulted in the death of civilians, including women and children. This is another attempt by Pakistan to blame India for its internal failures. India reiterates its support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan.
