With the help of stormy half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal, defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets in the first match of IPL 2026. Hyderabad, who came to bat first after losing the toss in the match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday, scored 201 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs with the help of innings of Ishan Kishan (80) and Aniket Verma (43).
