Punjab: AAP protest in case of Harbhajan ETO comment, Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa summoned

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa is on the target of Aam Aadmi Party over the words spoken by Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh in his speech at Jandiala Guru in Amritsar regarding ETO. Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes has summoned Bajwa in this regard. The commission has asked Bajwa to present his side at 3 pm on Wednesday (February 11). A report in this regard has also been sought from Amritsar Dehat SSP.

AAP’s protest against Bajwa’s statement

Against the statement of Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, Aam Aadmi Party tried to hold a protest march to his house in Chandigarh on Monday (February 9). However, Chandigarh Police stopped the party workers in Sector 4 where the police also used water cannon on them and detained them.

Aam Aadmi Party workers demonstrated against Bajwa with a band. The protesting protesters have been detained by the police. Punjab government ministers, AAP MLAs and party workers were present in this protest. On Bajwa’s statement, Harbhajan Singh ETO said that earning a living by playing in a band is not a crime.

Bajwa had given this statement

In fact, in the public meeting held in Jandiala Guru on 7th February, Bajwa had described Harbhajan Singh ETO as a band player and had said that the public will defeat him in the coming elections. Aam Aadmi Party has linked this statement of Bajwa to insulting Dalits and has demanded an apology from them.

Harbhajan Singh is the MLA from ETO Jandiala which is reserved for Dalits. Pratap Singh Bajwa has said in this matter that he has not said anything wrong about any particular caste or community. Pratap Singh Bajwa had given a statement that till now the band has been playing in the video, now we will play his band.
