‘People’s Government, People’s Door’ campaign reached more than 5 lakh people, 33 thousand complaints resolved

The ‘People’s Government, People’s Door’ campaign, run under the leadership of Pushkar Singh Dhami, was completed with unprecedented achievements after a period of 45 days. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, this special campaign, which started from the month of December, was conducted across the state till 20th February, the objective of which was to deliver government services and schemes directly to the general public.

During the campaign, a total of 681 camps were organized in different districts of the state. 5,33,452 citizens directly participated in these camps and availed various government services. On the concluding day alone, 11 camps were organized in which 8,209 people participated. The presence of a large number of people turned this initiative into a mass movement.

Direct benefits to citizens through camps

A total of 51,053 complaints were registered under this campaign, out of which 33,755 complaints were resolved on the spot. Action is being taken rapidly on the remaining cases also. Apart from this, 74,184 applications were received for various types of certificates, on which work is being done on priority basis by the concerned departments. About three lakh citizens took direct benefit of various government services through camps.

The Chief Minister had clear instructions that common citizens should not have to visit government offices to get their problems resolved, rather the administration should reach their doorsteps. With this thinking in mind, this campaign was started, in which revenue, social welfare, health, education, municipal bodies and other departments took active participation. Officials were instructed to remain present on the spot and resolve the complaints quickly.

Strong trust between administration and public

The successful conduct of the campaign is being considered an important step towards good governance in the state. This not only provided timely relief to the people, but also strengthened the trust between the administration and the public. Citizens from both rural and urban areas participated enthusiastically in the camps.

Even though the campaign has formally ended after the stipulated period, the government has made it clear that the process of solving public problems will continue. Officials have been instructed to remain active in the future and ensure prompt disposal of people’s complaints. The government says that beyond the announcement of schemes, special emphasis will be laid on their effective implementation, so that the reach of governance can be ensured to every citizen.
