Parliament Budget Session LIVE: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present CAPF bill in Lok Sabha today
In the second phase of the budget session on Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha. This bill has been passed by Rajya Sabha a day before. The Bill provides for regulating general rules relating to recruitment and service conditions of Group A General Duty Officers and other officers in the Central Armed Police Forces and other rules relating to these forces. Earlier, the CAPF Bill was passed by voice vote in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday amid uproar. The objective of this bill is to make uniform rules for all the seven central paramilitary forces. Opposition members demanded to send the bill to a select committee. When the demand was not met, the opposition members led by Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge walked out from Madan shouting slogans. Meanwhile, the Public Trust (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The Bill aims to promote ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living’, aiming to establish a governance framework that is based on trust and proportionate regulation.
