The arc of a man’s life changed dramatically after a Jacksonville police officer, along with a team of other officers, stepped in to help an individual in crisis on the Dames Point Bridge in Florida in April.

Faith had everything to do with it.

Body camera footage taken on April 12 shows Officer Antonio Richardson speaking with a man who was standing on the edge of the bridge — getting ready to jump. Richardson, along with six other patrol officers, responded to the emergency.

“Whatever you’re going through, man, you can get through it,” Richardson can be heard saying to the man during the drama.

“Now listen, man. Listen. Listen. You can get through this,” he told the individual as police lights flashed behind them.

“Let’s talk about it for a minute. … You believe in prayer, I know that. … Just touch my hand. Just touch my hand, man, I’m praying with you,” said Richardson to the man.

The officer, for about 40 minutes, kept up a steady stream of conversation and outreach to the man, who was teetering on the edge of the bridge, looking at the water below him.

Richardson told the man, as he kept his arm outstretched, “If you jump, you’re going to hurt other people. And they’re going to be hurting just like you’re hurting now. … The cycle’s gotta stop.”

“I just felt within myself that God was going to spare his life.”

Finally, after many moments, the man stepped away from the bridge and walked toward the officer — and they hugged. Other officers then stepped in as well.

Appearing on “Fox & Friends” to discuss the incident this week, Richardson said, “When I got the call … I was just there to stop the traffic. And then a couple of other officers who knew my position as a pastor asked me to come over and talk with the guy. … Nothing was scripted. … I did not want to see him jump,” he added.

“I just felt within myself that God was going to spare his life — and he did.”

He also said, “I was praying. And God spared his life. And we connected. And as a result of that connection, he didn’t jump.”

“This powerful story reminds us that we can all love our neighbors and be part of the solution in our nation.”

Officer Richardson has more than 30 years of ministry experience, according to reports. He said that after the man was safe and the immediate drama had passed, the officer called his wife, sat in his patrol car — “and wept like a baby.”

Pastor Jesse Bradley of the Seattle area, who runs Grace Community Church, watched the video of the dramatic incident.

He told Fox News Digital, “This powerful story reminds us that we can all love our neighbors and be part of the solution in our nation. Every person is made in God’s image, loved by Jesus — and life is a gift.”

He added, “We are made to receive and give hope daily, where we live, work, learn and play.”

Bradley also said that people should “be intentional about pursuing others who are in need. Take relationship risks. In the parable of the Good Samaritan, there were two religious people who played it safe and remained in their comfort zone. We have a greater calling,” he said.

“Only the Samaritan was willing to go to the man in pain and bring restoration. Let’s be people who cross the road to provide. Let’s be faithful to God. Love is intentional, takes action — and makes sacrifices. Let’s love and live like Jesus.”

“Instead of being separated from God, we can have peace with God and a full pardon through Jesus,” said a pastor, reflecting on the rescue that recently occurred in Jacksonville, Florida, during a man’s mental health crisis. (iStock)

Bradley observed that the inspiring story in Florida “points us to the greatest rescue story of all. Jesus left heaven to pursue us.”

Blockade continues as man perched atop DC bridge protests Iran war and AI

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

An ongoing blockade at the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C., continues as an activist protesting the Iran war and artificial intelligence (AI) sits atop the Beltway thoroughfare.

Guido Reichstadter, 45, a former jeweler and math and physics student, climbed the 168 feet up the bridge Friday night and plans on staying “until the war is ended,” he told Fox News Digital.

Reichstadter previously climbed the same bridge in 2022, that time protesting the Supreme Court‘s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. This time he is protesting both the Iran war and the development of AI.

“The situation with AI from my perspective, which I think is the shared perspective of many of the experts, it really couldn’t be more dire,” he told Fox News Digital in a video interview while perched atop the bridge.

ABOUT 60 PEOPLE ARRESTED AFTER VETERANS’ ANTI-ICE DEMONSTRATION IN WASHINGTON, DC, POLICE SAY

Though his protest coincided with a wave of D.C. “May Day” protests the day before, Reichstadter did not claim to be a part of that movement.

“With these things, I kind of work as the spirit moves me,” he told Fox News Digital, getting slightly emotional. “From the very first day of the bombing of Iran, I knew I was going to do something.”

When asked what he would like to see happen with the Iran war, Reichstadter replied “I would like to see Congress grow a spine and do its job. To assert its constitutional authority over the declaration of war and they’re manifestly not doing that.”

When asked if he would still be protesting if Congress did approve it through a War Powers Resolution Act, Reichstadter said, “it absolutely depends on the particulars.”

Reichstadter did concede that a nuclear Iran would be a threat to the world, though added that he didn’t believe the U.S. or any other country should have nuclear weapons either.

When asked if he saw a distinction between a country like Iran developing a nuclear weapon or a more stable country having one, Reichstadter said he didn’t really see a big difference between Iran having nuclear weapons and other countries.

“I haven’t seen anything that makes me believe that the Iranian regime is particularly different in terms of its willingness to destroy the world. This is not to excuse anything that the Iranian regime does. I’m not making excuses, or under any illusions that it is not an autocratic regime which has committed atrocities on its own people, but the path to a safe future does not involve nuclear weapons held by any state,” he said.

Iran has been a U.S. State Department-designated state sponsor of terrorism since 1984. In recent years it has financially backed Hezbollah, Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza, and other terrorist and militant groups in Iraq, Syria and Bahrain, according to the State Department.

The greater threat to Reichstadter, however, was neither a nuclear-armed Iran nor an ongoing war. His greatest fear was the endpoint of AI advancement.

“What happens when China or Russia or other nuclear states fear that the United States is on the cusp of developing a technology which will render their nuclear arsenals obsolete? They’ll be incentivized to stop it by any means necessary,” he argued.

“The goal of the frontier AI companies is not to build chatbots. It’s not to help you do your homework or make cute cat videos or something. The core mission of all of these companies is to create AI systems which vastly outperform human cognitive capabilities in every respect,” he said.

Reichstadter has previously been arrested on charges related to AI protests in California. He was twice for protesting OpenAI’s San Francisco campus, including an event where he locked the company’s doors shut, he told Fox News Digital. He was arrested again for violating a judge’s order not to return to the campus in 2025.

The issue for him, he said, is an existential one.

“That’s why I quit my job, that’s why I quit my career, my comfortable lifestyle, to try to get something moving. Because I’ve got two kids,” he told Fox News Digital. “I’ve lived a full life. I’ve been married, I’ve been in love, I’ve had a career. I don’t know if they’re gonna have that. And that’s the most important thing in the world to me, is their future and the future of the whole human race,” he concluded.

Fox News Digital contacted D.C. MPD for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Rob Schneider warns ‘Nazi’ label now used to silence disagreement

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Comedian and actor Rob Schneider said during a recent episode of “The Dr. Phil Podcast” that comedy exposes hidden beliefs, while warning that labels like “Nazi” and “white supremacist” are increasingly used to shut down disagreement, as he discussed the psychology of humor, social offense and self-censorship.

Schneider warned that terms historically associated with extremist ideologies are now used more broadly in everyday disagreements.

“Instead of saying you’re wrong, I hate you, you’re a demon, you’re a Nazi, you’re a fascist, because I’m old school,” Schneider said.

“I come from a place where those words were used for fascists, Nazis, and white supremacists,” he continued. “They weren’t used as a word for people who aren’t agreeing with you.”

‘ENTOURAGE’ STAR JEREMY PIVEN SAYS PEOPLE ARE TOO EASILY TRIGGERED AND NEED TO HEAR EACH OTHER OUT

He tied that shift to a broader erosion of dialogue, referencing the consequences of cutting off conversation entirely.

“When you stop the conversation, that’s when violence starts,” Schneider said.

Schneider made the remark while discussing the death of Charlie Kirk and the importance of maintaining open debate, arguing that demonization of opponents carries real-world risks.

The interview focused on the psychology of comedy, including how humor surfaces thoughts people may privately hold but avoid expressing. Dr. Phil McGraw framed comedy as a tool that reveals underlying beliefs and cultural pressure points.

HOWARD STERN BALKS AT CLAIMS HE WENT ‘WOKE,’ CHIDES PEOPLE WHO SEE IT AS NOT ‘MACHO’ TO CARE FOR OTHERS

“Well, comedy isn’t just punchlines. It’s social math. In one sentence, a comic can expose what we’re afraid to say, what we secretly believe, and where the culture’s tripwires are,” McGraw said.

Schneider said audiences are drawn to comedy because it gives them permission to engage with those suppressed thoughts in a safe environment.

“It’s liberating. I mean, if people come to see comedy for any other reason, it’s to feel liberated,” Schneider said.

Schneider described humor as a process rooted in timing and expectation, arguing that jokes work when they disrupt assumptions without overwhelming the audience.

90S COMEDY ICON JAMIE KENNEDY SAYS SOCIAL MEDIA, PODCASTS HAVE BEEN ‘INCREDIBLE’ FOR ‘AUTHENTIC’ COMEDY

“The idea is it’s kind of like a cerebral magic trick,” Schneider said. “If they don’t laugh, sometimes it’s too much.”

McGraw said many people hold back their views despite privately disagreeing, fearing professional and social consequences.

“People will admit they don’t feel free speaking their mind. They don’t want to get fired. They don’t want to get canceled. They don’t want the consequences of speaking out what they really feel,” he said.

Schneider said this climate contributes to widespread self-censorship, with individuals choosing silence over potential backlash.

“Standing up for what’s right and free speech, it’s not going to come without a cost,” the comedian said. “May cost you friends, may cost you a job, a potential job, may cost you money, and it certainly costs me money.”

Caitlin Clark cleared to play in Fever preseason finale after injury scare

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The Indiana Fever wrap up their 2026 preseason schedule Saturday night against the Nigerian national team.

Caitlin Clark was not listed on the injury report entering the game. Concerns arose about her health and immediate availability after she collided with a Dallas Wings player in Thursday’s preseason matchup. She limped to the bench but appeared to walk it off during a replay review that resulted in a Flagrant 1 call.

Clark returned to make two free throws before spending the remainder of the game on the sideline.

She finished with a team-high 21 points. Clark made two of her three attempted three-pointers, while knocking down 11 of 13 from the free throw line. She also had two rebounds, four assists and one steal in the contest.

Two days later, the two-time All-Star is available for Saturday night’s game despite the injury scare.

A string of injuries sidelined Clark in 2025, limiting the NCAA’s all-time scoring leader to 13 games in her second WNBA season. The injury woes last year included a groin strain followed by an ankle bone bruise.

Ahead of the WNBA’s milestone 30th season, ESPN ranked the league’s top 50 active players. Back-to-back MVP and defending WNBA champion A’ja Wilson led the list at No. 1. She was also ESPN’s top-ranked player entering 2025. Clark was the No. 10 player on the list.

Indiana appears to be getting healthy ahead of the regular season, with Fever center Aliyah Boston expected to make her debut Saturday. She missed the first two exhibition games after suffering an injury while playing in Unrivaled. Fever guard Ty Harris was also cleared to play Saturday.

Iran: ‘Remove the blockade and end the war on every front including Lebanon’, Iran sends 14 point counter proposal to America – Iran Sends 14 Point Counter Proposal To Us Asks To Lift Naval Blockade End War On All Fronts Lebanon Hormuz

0

Iran has sent a 14-point proposal to America to end the West Asia conflict. This resolution demands an end to the war on all fronts including Lebanon. The resolution also calls for lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran.

Iran’s proposal comes in response to a nine-point proposal sent earlier by Washington, which reportedly included a two-month ceasefire deadline. However, Tehran has rejected any extended interim arrangement. Instead Iran has insisted on a comprehensive resolution within 30 days, which would be seen as an end to the permanent war rather than a temporary ceasefire.

Also read: US: Trump administration offered arms worth $8.6 billion to four countries of West Asia, bypassed Parliament

What demands are included in Iran’s proposal?
Iran’s proposal includes stringent security guarantees. It demands stopping any future military aggression against Iran. Besides, a demand has also been made for America to withdraw its troops from the areas around Iran. This includes demands for the lifting of the existing naval sanctions and blockade as well as the freeing of Iranian assets seized abroad. At the same time, compensation has also been demanded by Tehran for the damage caused due to sanctions and military pressure.

On the economic front, the resolution calls for the complete removal of all US and international sanctions imposed on Iran. At the regional level, the resolution goes beyond Iran-US tensions and calls for an end to war on all fronts, including in Lebanon.

What is Tehran’s stance regarding the Strait of Hormuz?
The proposal also suggests establishing a new management regime for the Strait of Hormuz, an important global oil transit point, aimed at ensuring stability and uninterrupted maritime flows. Iran is now waiting for an official response from Washington.

Ready for any military aggression: Iran
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has confirmed that this diplomatic proposal sent to the US through Pakistan is intended to permanently end the imposed war and resolve the existing tensions between the two countries. He said Iran is ready for diplomatic talks and any possible military aggression.

Also read: US: ‘The war against Iran is over’, Trump informed the Parliament on completion of 60 days deadline

However, US President Donald Trump had expressed disagreement with the Iranian proposal sent earlier. He expressed doubt whether a final agreement could be reached. “They want to make a deal, but I’m not satisfied with it, so we’ll see what happens,” he told reporters.
