The double murder that took place on Monday afternoon in Rahpura Chaudhary of Izzatnagar police station area of Bareilly has put the functioning of the police in the dock. The Chief Minister has given instructions to take the complaint of every victim seriously, but the Izzatnagar police did not pay any attention to it.

Saima had called dial 112 on Sunday morning and narrated her husband’s misdeeds. Then in the evening she lodged a complaint in Izzatnagar police station, expressing threat to her life and demanding action from her husband. Despite this, the attitude of the police remained poor.

Saima’s sisters Shifa and Anam told that after the dispute on Saturday evening, the officer had locked the house and left. The clothes and essential items of the sister and children were locked in the house. When Dial 112 police reached the spot, Saima told the whole story.

Instead of taking action, the police sent Saima home.

The officer was in the house on Sunday night and the next morning, but the police did not catch him. If the police had become active on the complaint and arrested the officer, perhaps the lives of the mother and brother would have been saved. Even Saima does not have this condition. In such a situation, action can be taken against the careless policemen of Izzatnagar police station.

An Afghan Taliban government spokesperson said in a post shared on social media that about 400 people were killed and more than 250 were injured in an airstrike on a drug de-addiction hospital in Kabul on Monday evening. Pakistan has rejected these allegations and said that the strikes were carried out on terrorist hideouts and terrorist structures and civilian targets were not targeted.

Israeli strikes target Beirut, southern Lebanon, one million displaced | US-Israel war on Iran News

Israeli airstrikes have rained down on three neighbourhoods in Beirut, Lebanese state media reported, as the beleaguered nation says more than one million have been displaced since this punishing front in the wider regional war began more than two weeks ago.

“A series of raids and artillery shelling targeted southern towns at dawn,” Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said on Tuesday.

“Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes targeting the Kafaat and Haret Hreik areas” in the capital Beirut and another airstrike on a residential apartment building in the Doha Aramoun area, NNA added.

An Ethiopian woman was wounded in the strikes, it said, quoting the health ministry. Israel confirmed it had carried out the attacks, saying it was targeting Hezbollah.

Al Jazeera’s Heidi Pett reporting from Beirut said the strike in Aramoun, which is an area just south of the capital, “wasn’t subject to an evacuation order”.

“This appears to be another attempted targeted assassination strike. It took out just one floor of a residential building,” she added.

Israeli strikes have killed at least 886 people, including 67 women and 111 children, since the start of the fresh fighting with Iran-aligned Hezbollah, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said Monday, adding that 2,141 others have been wounded.

Also on Tuesday, Israel carried out air strikes targeting a building in the village of Arab al-Jal in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army earlier issued a threat for residents to leave targeted areas or face danger, claiming it was targeting Hezbollah military infrastructure in the designated buildings.

Moreover, Israeli jets carried out air strikes on Bint Jbeil, also in southern Lebanon, NNA reported.

One million displaced

Lebanese authorities said more than one million people have registered as displaced since March 2, with more than 130,000 people staying in upwards of 600 collective shelters.

The Israeli military has issued sweeping evacuation warnings for southern Lebanon, extending more than 40 kilometres (around 25 miles) from its border, north of the Litani River.

Defence Minister Israel Katz has threatened displaced Lebanese should not return home “south of the Litani area until the safety of residents in the north (of Israel) is guaranteed”.

The Israeli army announced a “limited and targeted ground operations” against Hezbollah in Lebanon on Monday, with the military’s chief of staff, Eyal Zamir, saying the army is determined to “deepen” the operation until “all of our objectives are achieved”.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah on Monday said it was targeting Israeli forces on the border with Lebanon and in several frontier towns, including “direct clashes” in Khiam, located across from north Israel’s Metula.

Since March 2, Hezbollah has repeatedly announced targeting Israeli forces and vehicles inside Khiam, the first point into which Israeli forces advanced after the war began.

Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim reporting from Ramallah said Hezbollah has been firing an average of 100 rockets into Israel a day, sometimes in tandem with an Iranian salvo, sending hundreds of thousands of Israelis into shelters.

Israel’s position on prospective talks over southern Lebanon remains at best mixed, she added.

“When you talk to the foreign minister, Gideon Sar, he says there is no intention on Israel’s part to continue with these talks,” she said.

“But other sources say the talks are indeed expected to start in the coming few days. At the same time, we can read from military officials speaking to Israeli media that they are looking at these talks as a potential framework for a withdrawal from Lebanon.”

If Hormuz is closed, oil and gas ships can also pass through these two routes, know how much control Iran has here?

0

17 days after the war between America, Israel and Iran, today the world is standing at the brink of an energy crisis that has never happened before. The main route from oil to LPG supply was- Strait of Hormuz Tanker traffic on it has almost reduced to zero. About 400 ships are anchored outside the Gulf of Oman and do not have the courage to go further.

iran He has kept this as his biggest weapon, but with this weapon his strategy has gone even further. Do you understand how Iran has planned to close, one by one, every route through which oil reaches the world?

The first route closed – Hormuz, it is just a 33 kilometer wide route between Iran and Oman and 20 million barrels of oil passes through it every day, which is 20 percent of the world’s total oil consumption. The oil of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar goes through this route.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially announced on March 2 that Hormuz is closed to the US and its allies. Any ship that tries to pass will be attacked and this happened – according to UKMTO, 17 civilian ships have been attacked since 28 February.

After the closure of Hormuz, everyone thought that there are bypass routes and they will use them, but Iran has planned that too. Second route – Fujairah… Sensing the dangers of such a war, the UAE spent 4.2 billion dollars in 2012 and built a pipeline, ADCOP (from Habshan to Fujairah), 380 kilometers long.

It was the insurance policy of UAE that if Hormuz is closed, oil will come out from Fujairah which is directly connected to the Indian Ocean. Its capacity is 1.5 million barrels per day and Iran has also closed that exit. Iranian drones attacked Fujairah’s oil terminal and caused a massive fire, smoke billowing, oil loading halted and shipping company Maersk shutting down all operations in Fujairah. In this way the second option is also closed.

Third route- After Hormuz and Fujairah, Yanbu and Bab-al-Mandab are left. Saudi Arabia had another route for the East-West Pipeline. This is a 1,200 kilometer long pipeline from Abqaiq to Yanbu. Its design capacity is 7 million barrels per day. As soon as Hormuz was closed, Saudi Arabia activated this route. Started sending oil from Yanbu to the Red Sea but to get out of the Red Sea one has to pass through Bab-al-Mandab and this is where the Houthis are sitting.

Announcement of ‘Hour Zero’ at Bab-al-Mandab
Just 30 kilometers wide, the Bab al-Mandab between Yemen and Djibouti connects Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, the only entrance to the Suez Canal. This is the route for 10 to 12 percent of the world’s international maritime trade. Due to Houthi attacks, the oil flow from here had fallen from 8.7 million barrels per day in 2023 to 4.2 million barrels per day in 2025. This road was already half closed.

On March 14, 2026, Houthi officials announced military alignment with Iran and declared ‘Hour Zero’. The Houthis clearly said that closing Bab-al-Mandab is their priority. Experts say that as soon as Saudi Arabia started deliveries from the Red Sea, the Houthis were ready to close that route too. This is part of Iran’s three-step strategy.

If both the Straits of Hormuz and Bab-al-Mandab are completely closed simultaneously, 30 percent of the world’s maritime oil trade could come to a halt in one fell swoop. Goldman Sachs has warned that due to Houthi capture of Bab-el-Mandab, the price of oil could go up to $ 120 per barrel, whereas currently oil has crossed $ 110 and WTI, which was $ 57 at the beginning of 2025, has reached $ 119.

Ships that cannot pass will have to round the Cape of Good Hope in Africa. To go from here, additional fuel of 12 to 15 days is required. Shipping companies have left the field. Companies such as CMA CGM, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have stopped all trans-Suez services from Bab-el-Mandab. Insurance companies have either stopped war risk cover or have made it so expensive that no commercial operator is daring to go on these routes.

What is its impact on India?
India imports 88-89 percent of its crude oil needs. This is the highest level ever. 84 percent of the oil passing through Hormuz goes towards the Asian market of China, India, Japan, South Korea. If both Hormuz and Bab-al-Mandab remain closed for a long time, then petrol, diesel, LPG, air fares all will directly affect your pocket.

Trump blasts media as ‘corrupt’ and ‘fake’ over Iran war coverage

0

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The U.S. military has devastated Iran and all but destroyed its military effectiveness. Period. Full stop.

Everyone recognizes this, and the coverage reflects it.

And yet President Donald Trump is accusing many in the media of wanting America to lose the war, and his FCC chairman is talking about networks losing their licenses.

There’s no question that journalistic credibility has plummeted in the Trump era, and the president has used lawsuits and other tactics to pressure news organizations.

US ‘LOCKED AND LOADED’ TO DESTROY IRAN’S ‘CROWN JEWEL’ ‘IF WE WANT,’ TRUMP WARNS

President Donald Trump

At the same time, journalists have an obligation to ask about the latest developments in a war that has divided the MAGA media movement, given the sharp contrast between Trump’s past rhetoric against entanglement in foreign wars and his decision to attack Iran and wipe out its nuclear weapons program.

It’s hardly a shock, but the president has been combative with those asking the questions, as if he resents any challenge to the official narrative.

Some reporters have focused on the blockade of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran is using to retaliate against the U.S. and Israeli attacks. Oil prices have soared, though they have dipped below the $100-plus per barrel level, and the response from American allies asked to help police the narrow passageway has been tepid. These are facts.

TRUMP SUDDENLY SEEMS ANXIOUS TO END THE WAR AS AMERICAN CASUALTIES MOUNT AND IRAN FINDS WAYS TO HIT BACK

On Sunday, when an unidentified reporter on Air Force One asked why he was “sending 5,000 Marines and sailors” to the Middle East, Trump said “you’re a very obnoxious person” and moved on without answering.

During the same in-flight session, the president was asked about a fundraising letter that has drawn criticism for featuring the “dignified return” of six fallen American soldiers in Delaware – a solemn occasion generally seen as above politics.

When the woman identified herself as being from ABC News, Trump called the network “one of the worst, most fake, most corrupt.”

“Will you comment on the dead soldiers?” she persisted.

Trump: “ABC News, I think it’s maybe the most corrupt news organizations on the planet. I think they’re terrible.” After a third attempt, he said, “Okay, I don’t want any more from ABC.”

An oil tanker travels through the Strait of Hormuz.

Headlines have emphasized difficulties in the Strait of Hormuz. (Sahar Al Attar/AFP via Getty Images)

I wasn’t there, so I don’t know the tone. Perhaps they should have provided more context – your critics say such-and-such – but Trump, rightly or wrongly, heard it as sharp personal criticism. And that led to this online escalation against the “Radical Leftwing Press,” with even mentioning the loaded word “TREASON”:

“The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal (in particular), and other Lowlife ‘Papers’ and Media actually want us to lose the War. Their terrible reporting is the exact opposite of the actual facts! They are truly sick and demented people that have no idea the damage they cause the United States of America.”

And yet none of the questions or reports are remotely out of bounds, especially in a time of war.

THE WAR HITS HOME: WHY FINANCIAL PAIN AND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY THREATEN TRUMP’S DRIVE TO TOPPLE IRAN’S REGIME

Some headlines, for instance, have emphasized the difficulties in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump himself yesterday said at a lengthy presser, called to discuss the two-year closing of the Kennedy Center, that some allies are not “enthusiastic” about helping, and some such as Britain have refused to help at all.

“I think it’s terrible,” the president said, adding that he has long felt that America spends endless billions to protect NATO but that he long suspected there would be no reciprocation if needed.

That, in turn, underscores why Hormuz has been a legitimate subject for coverage.

One CNN report, with four journalists contributing, said: “Top Trump officials acknowledged to lawmakers during recent classified briefings that they did not plan for the possibility of Iran closing the strait in response to strikes, according to three sources familiar with the closed-door session.”

Sorry, it’s hard to imagine there was no planning at all, but CNN stands by its reporting.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth, a former co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” has unloaded on the coverage.

“Some in this crew, in the press, just can’t stop. Allow me to make a few suggestions. People look up at the TV and they see banners. They see headlines. I used to be in that business. And I know that everything is written intentionally.”

“For example, a banner or a headline, ‘Mideast War Intensifies,’ splashing on the screen the last couple of days, alongside visuals of civilian or energy targets that Iran has because that’s what they do.”

“What should the banner read instead? How about ‘Iran increasingly desperate’ Because they are. They know it, and so do you, if it can be admitted.”

HEGSETH SCOLDS CNN’S ‘UNSERIOUS’ REPORT ON IRAN CONFLICT, SUGGESTS PARAMOUNT OWNER SHOULD OVERHAUL NETWORK

In his choice of words, Hegseth, a veteran and conservative commentator, suggests that he doesn’t merely want straight-news headlines but blatant support for the war effort. With Israel attacking Iran’s proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon and Tehran hitting the U.S. embassy in Baghdad – without casualties – what could possibly be wrong with “Mideast War Intensifies”?

Hegseth also slammed “more fake news from CNN. ‘Reports that the Trump administration underestimated the Iran War’s impact on the Strait of Hormuz.’

“Patently ridiculous, of course. For decades, Iran has threatened shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. This is always what they do, hold the strait hostage. CNN doesn’t think we thought of that. It’s a fundamentally unserious report.”

Pete Hegseth pointing

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth called reports that the Trump administration underestimated the Iran conflict’s impact on the Strait of Hormuz “patently ridiculous.” (Joe Raedle/Getty Images)

The secretary then said the quiet part out loud. CNN, part of Warner Bros. Discovery, is on track to be taken over by Paramount Skydance, the current owners of CBS, where Bari Weiss is editor-in-chief. The outlet is owned by billionaire Larry Ellison and his son David, who the president yesterday called “great.” They have said they want a more balanced approach to news that appeals to both center-right and center-left audiences.

Hegseth said “the sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better.”

Maybe he didn’t intend it that way, but it sounds like the Pentagon chief expects the new CBS to be in a cheerleading role.

And now there are the comments at the FCC.

TRUMP ‘THRILLED’ AS FCC CHAIR WARNS NEWS ORGANIZATIONS TO CORRECT COURSE OR LOSE LICENSES

Trump said on Truth Social yesterday he is “so thrilled to see Brendan Carr, the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), looking at the licenses of some of these Corrupt and Highly Unpatriotic ‘News’ Organizations.”

Carr said on X that “broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions —also known as the fake news — have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up. The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.”

The chairman said changing course would be a smart business decision, since “trust in legacy media has now fallen to an all time low.” That part is undoubtedly true.

Brendan Carr at hearing

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr said “broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.” (John McDonnell/Getty Images)

I don’t think we’ll see any broadcast stations lose their licenses, since that’s where these extraordinarily rare actions would be carried out, not at the network level.

Carr’s detractors swung into action, with Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren saying it was “constitutional law 101” and “illegal for the government to censor free speech it just doesn’t like about Trump’s Iran war. This threat is straight out of the authoritarian playbook.” Democratic FCC commissioner Anna Gomez warned on MS NOW of a “chilling effect.”

There’s a reason this hasn’t happened in more than half a century. In 1969, the commission revoked the license of Jackson, Miss. station WLBT for airing racist programming and refusing to allow civil-rights viewpoints. That’s how rare it is.

But Carr has a knack for boosting pressure on a network or station to act on its own by raising the specter of a revoked license, like citing a nuclear weapon hidden in the basement. He did that in the uproar over remarks by Jimmy Kimmel that prompted Disney/ABC to take him off the air, although the backlash turned that into a week’s suspension.

Presidents generally don’t like coverage of their military operations. You think LBJ enjoyed hearing Walter Cronkite return from Saigon to say we were losing the war? Richard Nixon argued the nightly combat footage on TV was turning Americans against the war, and his allies encouraged license challenges to CBS, NBC and ABC stations, though these efforts failed.

Journalists today need to keep raising pressing issues about how the Iran war is faring, though that clearly displeases the president.

By taking numerous questions yesterday – and acknowledging that he doesn’t know what Iranian leaders he’s even negotiating with after the first airstrikes – Trump defused some of the tensions.

Australia’s legendary captain salutes Surya’s army, the most dangerous team

Former Australian captain calls Indian T20 team the most dangerous team in history

New Delhi. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said after India’s victory in the recently concluded T20 World Cup that this team is the strongest T20 International team so far. He said that the depth, experience and consistent good performance of the team makes India’s record in white ball cricket excellent. India won the third ICC Men’s T20 World Cup by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and became the first team to win the title for the second consecutive time.

India has maintained its dominance in limited overs cricket. In the four major ICC tournaments held since the end of 2023, India has lost only two matches, once against Australia in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup and second against South Africa in the Super Eight of the 2026 T20 World Cup. When Ponting, who is inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, was asked whether the current Indian team is the strongest team in the history of T20 international cricket, he said in ‘The ICC Review’, ‘It is very difficult to deny this.

Salute to Team India

Not just T20, India’s record in white ball cricket in ICC tournaments in the last five-six years has been excellent. He said, ‘Even before the start of this tournament, many people had recognized how much depth, strength and experience the current Indian team has.’ The former Australia captain said, ‘Not only the T20 team, India’s white ball team is very strong. Hats off to him for winning two consecutive World Cups.

IPL’s role is important

Ponting, who has won the World Cup thrice, said that the experience of playing pressure matches both at the international level and in the IPL has been important in strengthening the team. Punjab Kings coach Ponting said, ‘One thing that probably gets less attention about this team is the experience of the players and how much cricket they have played, whether international or IPL.’ He said, ‘IPL matches are as big as international matches, so the Indian team entered the field with excellent balance and excellent preparation.

The team beat everyone after the blow

India had lost to South Africa by 76 runs in the Super Eights and Ponting feels the setback helped the team regroup. He said, ‘When you win 12 consecutive matches, sometimes a bad day comes. I’m glad it arrived quickly. Perhaps India needed such a shock. After this defeat, India batted brilliantly and scored more than 250 runs in three of the remaining four matches, which also included the semi-finals and final.
