In such a difficult situation, a couple working with an MP also came on the road. Instead of giving up the job, this couple stood on the path of struggle instead of giving up. Due to lack of money, the couple could not do a big business, so just made themselves stand on the strength of Rajma and rice. The financial crisis was so bad that he had to go to the gurudwara to eat food, while due to lack of home, he used his car to sleep at night. When the lockdown started getting a little relaxation, Karan asked for a few rupees from a friend and rented a room in Faridabad area. After this, Amrita suggested to Karan that why not make something similar to eating and sell her among the people, although both were in doubt about how much people would come out and trust eating. Instead of going to the landfill site of garbage, the area is being concluded in the area itself.
New Delhi. South Delhi Municipal Corporation (South MCD) is doing a big job in solving garbage problem these days. During the last 6 months, by executing 7 lakh kg of wet garbage in only 2 wards in SDMC, he has done a unique job of making 1 lakh kg of organic compost manure from it. By making this fertilizer, SDMC has got support in disposing of garbage. At the same time, he has also saved an amount of about Rs 7,00,000 to be spent in garbage loading. According to the market, the price of this fertilizer has been estimated at around ₹ 25,00,000.
Let us tell you that SDMC Ward no. 5 Tagore Garden and Ward No 9 had set up a 5 TDP capacity aerobic compost plant located in Subhash Nagar. Both these plants have cost ₹ 1,00,000 so far, while MCD has prepared fertilizer of about Rs 25,00,000 from these plants, in 6 months, 7,00,000 kg of wet waste has also been disposed of, it is settled in the same area instead of going to the garbage lendfil site.
This compost manure was distributed to the Horticulture Department, schools and RWA of the Southern Corporation.
Today, on Saturday, 10,000 kg of organic fertilizer was given to the Department of Tagore Garden and Subhash Nagar from Compost Plant. Till now it has been used in 156 parks and will be used in more parks. Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh and Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission Rajiv Jain and other senior officials of the corporation were present on the occasion.
On this occasion, Rajiv Jain, the nodal officer of Swachh Bharat Mission, said that it is the lowest cost of Delhi’s Compost Plant. Here, a little soil and old manure is added to the waste garbage to make organic manure and this fertilizer is prepared in different modules such as drum composters, forged boxes of different sizes.
Nodal officer Jain said that it takes only three weeks to make fertilizer. At present, separate separation of wet and dry garbage is being done in all 29 wards of the western region.
Jain said that if the price of organic fertilizer is estimated at the rate of Rs 25 per kg, then its total price is 25 lakh rupees while the cost of construction of the entire compost plant is only 1 lakh rupees. Which shows that it is an affordable option for the execution of organic waste.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh appreciated the project. Such plants will be able to reduce the burden of landfill sites. In the last six months, we have reduced 7,00,000 kg of garbage from the landfill site. We have saved Rs 7 lakh in the item of garbage transportation from homes to landfill sites.
This effort is environmentally friendly and is also proving helpful in reducing garbage. He said that organic manure will also be distributed to citizens for free so that they can be motivated to separate the waste and wet garbage separately.

New Delhi. Water is life. All water without water. We have come to hear these things since childhood, but it had a profound impact on 14 -year -old Rishabh. To deal with the water crisis, Rishabh adopted such a trick, which saved 70 lakh liters of water in just one year. Not only this, the water bill in homes also reduced by 30 percent. Rishabh Prabhbh, a 14 -year -old student studying in class 9th of National Academy for Learning, Bengaluru, has started the water mission. Under this, Rishabh installed two hotels, his school and his housing society taps’. The aitor is small mechanical devices, which are fitted in the tap. They mix the air with water and ensure that the flow of water coming from the tap remains stable, then whatever the pressure. If the taps supply 15 liters of water per minute, if the aitor is installed, it reduces the supply of water to six liters per minute. These devices can save 1,274 liters of water in a month.
Idea came like this In 2019, Rishabh participated in a social initiative of ‘1 million for 1 billion’ (1M1B), a United Nations recognized organization. Here he studied various environment related issues. The Better India has published an article on this subject. Rishabh told the website that he read on many issues like air pollution, but water scarcity was a problem that he himself has seen in Bengaluru. Many ponds are drying up here and many houses also have water problems. After this, to understand this problem at the grassroots level, Rishabh spoke to many organizations, activists and watersheds of Bengaluru. He understood that along with the growing population, the demand for water is also increasing, but its supply is much less than the demand. Therefore, there is only one solution to this problem that water consumption is reduced. Also read: This young man has a brain behind the startups in which Tata invests
Saving 3 to 4 liters of water per minute from the sink of the kitchen through the aitor When Rishabh did research, it was found that at the domestic level, the best way to reduce water consumption is to fit the aitor in the water tap. Typically, 6 liters of water is released from our kitchen sink and tap in the bathroom and can reduce it by 3 or 4 liters by the aitor. For this testing, Rishabh put an aitor in his grandmother’s house in Bengaluru. He could not install an aitor in his house because in his building, the water bill of 17 houses comes. Which is divided into everyone. In such a situation, they are unable to properly guess the savings in water and the bill cuts.
Water bill reduced by 30 percent in just one month in grandmother’s house According to Rishabh, only one month after fitting of an aitor, we saw a cut of up to 30% in the water bill of grandmother’s house. Earlier his bill used to come to about 340 rupees but it has come down to 250 rupees. After this, he contacted the Residents Association of his Housing Society and gave this solution. Then two arators were fitted in each apartment. Each house paid for the aitor, which was worth around Rs 300 per unit. Rishabh says that this reduced water consumption in the society within a year and saved 20 lakh liters of water. After this, Rishabh contacted two Marriott Hotels in Cochin, Kerala. Here too, both hotels saved about 50 lakh liters of water in a year.
Target to save one crore liters of water this year On this success, Rishabh contacted his school principal Indira Jaikrishnan. Rishabh’s idea has carried forward the school initiative further. In the year 2021, Rishabh is expecting his initiative to reach more schools, hotels, cinemas across the city and malls. Their purpose is to help save one crore liters of water in the city.

Start-up Success Story: A youth living in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, left a good salary job of multinational company and started a startup for grocery stores. Now with this startup, he has about 5 annually …Read more
The 31 -year -old Vaibhav has helped to increase their earnings by rejuvenating more than 100 grocery stores in about a dozen cities.
New Delhi. It is said that time keeps changing and over time, many changes have to be brought in itself. Sanjay Aggarwal, who lives in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, and his son has fully followed this. About 14 years ago, in 2006, Sanjay Aggarwal decided to enlarge his 10×20 square feet grocery store to 1,500 square feet. But, even after this upgrade, there was no significant boom in his business. Sanjay’s son Vaibhav Aggarwal saw that his father could neither earn adequate profits even after so much hard work nor could they further the business. Losses, lack of capital and low investment continuously weakened their business. Seeing this struggle of his father, 31 -year -old Vaibhav helped him. Apart from this, Vaibhav has rejuvenated more than 100 grocery stores in a dozen cities today. Thus he started his startup – the grocery store company -. In the last two years, he has made a revenue of about 5 crore rupees from this startup.
Vaibhav says that his father was the only person to earn at home and he used to run a grocery store in Saharanpur under the name ‘Kamla Store’. After completing engineering in 2013, Vaibhav worked with his father at the store for a few months and then started working in a multinational company in Mysore through campus platesment. The experience of Mysore’s retail market proved to be completely new to him. Vaibhav, who lives here in connection with the work, found that there are smart stores here. The product mix and chain system is very different for these stores.
Leaving multinational company and 10 thousand rupees salary job After shopping at these stores itself, he got the idea of how he can do his father’s store better. Vaibhav quit his job after knowing about these stores for about a year and after some thought. In 2014, he became a sales manager at a salary of Rs 10,000 in a retail company in Saharanpur itself. Vaibhav says that during this time he understood from the logistics of the retail market to how his product mixes change with space and distance. They found that the product mix changes every 1 km away. Even there is a difference between the presentation and packaging. After seeing all this, many business ideas started coming in Vaibhav’s blank, but he was not in the mood to quit the job once again.
Retail stores learned from studies and work experience In the era of 2014-15, there was a boom in the startup industry, but they did not have much information about it. To understand the concept, he decided to do a masters in business management in Delhi. Here with the help of academics and faculty, it helped them shape their idea. He could know about many other cases due to the grocery retail market and unorganized sector. After completing the Masters degree, in 2017, he started work in an FMCG company in Delhi. From this job, he got information about the retail market in 6 states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh. He understood every small thing of product flow closely and prepared reports.
First rejuvenation of father’s store Vaibhav decided to leave this job within a year and bring changes in his father’s grocery store itself. By 2018, he made many changes in this store. He also prepared a software to gather information about the products of the products, the sale of the product and their inventory management in this store. From the store, he removed the products that were causing losses due to low sales and kept all the products in the store so that the customers are noticed. Thus, they increased the number of customers and their spending ability.
Fast of 100 stores in small cities Through Word-to-Mouth, this change in his store reached the people. In this way, a person requested to change his store in a similar way after seeing his store. After putting a little more emphasis through digital marketing, some more people demanded them to change their store. Thus Vaibhav launched his startup. Vaibhav says that till January 2021, he has changed the picture of more than 100 stores in about 12 cities. Most of these are from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Regarding his experience, it is said that people are ready to make changes in grocery business, but they do not get such services through which they can get guidance. Most of the grocery store is going on from Dada or father. They have not changed with time and changing markets.
This startup works to erect a new store too Vaibhav’s startup only works to bring changes to the old store, but also helps to stand a new store from the beginning. With the help of this startup, customers also have the facility to take some products. Apart from fees, they charge Rs 1,000 per month from every store for software and analytics. The analytics report is released every 15 days so that the shopkeeper can make necessary changes in his shop. This helps in boosting business besides managing inventory.
What is the biggest challenge of this startup In FY 2019-20, this startup has created a revenue of Rs 1 crore. It is estimated to increase to Rs 5 crore by March 2020-21. Vaibhav further shows that the most difficult task of his business is how to prepare customers to make changes in their store. They have to give information about profits by making this change. Apart from this, customers also have to explain about the expenditure on it. This startup has changed many stores between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. In this, it takes them from 6 months to 1 year.

New Delhi. This is the story of Bibhu Sahu. But it is a little different from other stories. Bibhu is from Kalahandi of Odisha who lived in the news for a time due to starvation. There was a teacher in the same Kalahandi, but in 2007, he quit his job to do paddy business. Even everything was fine but a new twist in his story came when he did an innovation and earned Rs 20 lakh annually. The website of Bibhu, which converts rice husk into “black gold”, has been published by website The Better India. “Kalahandi is the second largest producer of rice in Odisha. There is about 50 lakh quintals of paddy cultivation every year. After the paddy business, I also decided to step into the rice mill business in the year 2014. There are dozens of para blowing companies, which treat rice. It produces a large number of husk. It is produced here every day. But after the husk was thrown in an open place, it was a lot of damage to the environment after the wind. I could not understand anything. Then, I did some research. I came to know that rice husk can be used as a thermal insulator in the steel industry. It contains 85% silica. Therefore, it is quite good for use in steel refractor. In this way, when burnt husk is used in the boiler, it does not cause too much pollution due to high temperatures. He had done research but the real problem was its implementation. Then I somehow raised money and also visited an Egyptian steel company. With a sample, he proposed to that company. He showed his interest and asked if it could be made available as powder. I said it would be difficult, because it can fly in the air. Then, after much deliberation, it was decided that the husk would be exported to a bullet. I had come to talk to the company but a new challenge came to light. I did not know how the bullet is made from it. So I called experts from many states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal. However, no results came out. Also contacted a poultry farm to understand the process of making the palette. However, this effort also went in vain. For the next few months, I just put all my resources on research. I thought my concept is not practical and I almost gave up. But, at the same time, one of my staff sought some time to resolve it. After this, he went to his village and came with four people. Then, with his help we did some experiments and we succeeded. Initially it took a few weeks to make the palette in the right size. Our pellets were in shapes of 1 mm to 10 mm. Now I wrote emails to companies from France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan and United Kingdom to consume this consignment. Eventually our first batch went to Saudi Arabia in 2019. Companies liked this product quite well, because the pellet was burnt quite well. Also, they were quite cheap and their quality was good. In the year 2019, I earned 20 lakh rupees by selling 100 tonnes of pellets. In this way, we turned the husk into black gold.
