OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite Review: OnePlus will not disappoint fans

0

OnePlus started getting a lot of popularity right from the beginning, when it shook the market by launching powerful smartphones at aggressive prices. Gradually the company shifted from flagship killer smartphones to premium flagships. To keep the fan base happy, OnePlus launched the Nord series a few years ago, through which it once again targeted the midrange segment and the company was very successful in it.

OnePlus Nord (Review), which came first, had raised expectations in the segment below Rs 30 thousand. Fans kept hoping for the Nord phone to be launched in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment, and now in 2022, Nord has finally been launched in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment. OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is the most affordable OnePlus phone which starts at Rs 19,999. As the name suggests, it Nord CE 2 5G (Review) is a lite version, but in some cases it offers better specifications than that. Does the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G have everything we expect from a OnePlus under Rs 20,000, or is there one among its rivals that sounds better to you?

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G price in India

OhnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G The base variant of the smartphone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and its price in India starts at Rs 19,999. Its 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 21,999. Both come in either Blue Tide or Black Dusk colour. I had its top end variant in blue color for review.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G design

The blue tide color gives the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G the identity of a Nord phone. OnePlus has used these shades of blue for the Nord models. Even OnePlus Buds are available in Nord Blue shade. The Black Dusk variant has a sandstone finish.
one plus

At first glance, you can consider the phone as a Realme or Vivo device. Rather, Realme Q5 And Vivo T1 (Review) also looks almost the same. OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has a 6.59-inch display with full-HD+ resolution, which has a camera hole in the top left corner. However, it’s an LCD panel, not AMOLED, which we’ve been seeing on OnePlus phones. The good thing is that you get a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, which is higher than the 90Hz of the more expensive Nord CE 2 5G. I like the thin bezels on the sides of the display but the chin is thick. This is a normal thing for phones in this segment except Motorola G52.

The frame and back panel of OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G are plastic. The power button on the right side has a fingerprint scanner. Due to the slight slope of the frame it is easy to find and access. The volume buttons are on the other side along with the SIM tray. OnePlus has given a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. Here you will also get a single speaker and USB Type-C port.

Like the rest of the Nord CE series models, the iconic alert slider is missing from the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. The weight of the phone is 195g which is heavier than Nord CE 2 5G. The weight of the phone is obviously felt in the hand. If you attach the accompanying case also, it seems even heavier.

one plus
The camera module on the back panel has a textured finish. Here, when the phone is kept under light and viewed at different angles, the color changes from sky blue to yellow. The rest of the back panel is a static blue shade and features the OnePlus logo.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G specifications and software

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has simple specifications but it is right in line with the competition in this segment. I found this a bit disappointing as OnePlus is often known for setting trends, but this time the company did not do so. For processing, it is powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC which we have already seen in similarly priced phones like Vivo T1, Moto G71 and Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G. It also has a software RAM Boost feature that can use up to 5GB of internal storage as virtual RAM (in top-end variants).

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has support for Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, 4G VoLTE, five 5G bands, and six satellite navigation systems. It also has a hybrid SIM slot in which a microSD card up to 1TB can be used in place of the second SIM. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

one plus
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G runs on OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. My unit had the April 2022 Android security patch. The company guarantees two Android OS version updates and three years of security updates for the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. It is quite good compared to the rest.

The OxygenOS 12 coming to the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has some new features that we first saw in the OnePlus 10 Pro (Review). OnePlus Scout lets you search for things in contacts, apps, and the web, similar to Spotlight on Apple devices. Work-Life Balance 2.0 now lets you create profiles so you can keep separate apps for work. You can also filter notifications to help you stay focused while you work. These profiles can be triggered automatically based on time, location or Wi-Fi access point.

OnePlus Shelf can be accessed via a pull-down gesture from the top edge of the display. With the help of Private Safe, you can protect your media files and apps with a passcode. OnePlus has kept the pre-installed apps to a minimum which is a good thing.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G performance and battery life

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is a capable budget phone, which ran smooth during the review period. Things of daily use ran smoothly but heavy apps and games took some time to load. Scrolling in the interface was smooth due to the high refresh rate. Multitasking was a breeze and I was able to switch between multiple running apps seamlessly. With the help of fingerprint scanner and face unlock, the phone was able to be unlocked quickly. The speaker is loud but it would have been better if there was a dual speaker setup.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G scored 4,00,763 points in AnTuTu benchmark. In the single core and multicore tests of Geekbench 5, the phone scored 687 points and 1951 points respectively. It scored 17fps and 60fps in GFXBench’s CarChase and T-Rex. If compared with other competing phones with the same processor, these scores are similar.

one plus
When it comes to gaming, Call of Duty: Mobile ran smooth on the ‘High’ preset for graphics and frame rates. After playing the game for about 15 minutes, I noticed a five percent drop in battery level, which isn’t bad.

The battery life of OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G was also good. For me it lasted more than a day and a half with normal usage. The phone lasted 23 hours 35 minutes in our HD video loop test, which is a pretty good time. The 33W SuperVOOC charger that came with the phone charged the phone from 0 to 50 percent in 30 minutes and up to 93 percent in an hour.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G cameras

The phone has three cameras on the back, which includes a 64-megapixel primary lens, a 2-megapixel depth lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel front camera like OnePlus 9 Pro. One thing that is missing is an ultra-wide camera, which is available on the Nord CE 2 5G.

The camera app is very easy to use and has multiple shooting modes to choose from. Via the viewfinder you can toggle HDR, AI Scene Enhancer, and capture images at the main camera’s full 64-megapixel resolution. There’s also a ‘Pro’ mode that lets you manually adjust different exposure parameters.

one plus
Photos taken in daylight with the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G came out with good dynamic range and colors. The phone maintained the exposure well. Even small objects visible at a distance were recognizable in landscape shots. AI Scene Enhancer boosted the colors a bit but the result did not look artificial. The dynamic range in the photos taken with the 64 megapixel camera was good but there was a slight lack of details.

Close-up shots were crisp, with a slight blur in the background for the subject. The camera app also suggested how to position the phone when the subject got too close. Images captured in portrait mode had good edge detection and the intensity of the background blur was also adjustable. The 2-megapixel macro camera clicks good pictures but I have to say, I would have been happy if these two lenses were missing in exchange for an ultra-wide-angle camera.

one plus
Low-light camera performance was average. Things were lacking in sharpness in the photos and the phone struggled to capture photos with enough detail in darker parts of the scene. After turning on Night mode, it took 3 to 4 seconds to take a shot but the photo came out bright. With this mode the phone was able to capture good details even in shadow areas.
one plus
Selfies taken with OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G in daylight and low-light were good. Portrait shots also turned out good. In low light, it automatically used the screen flash to capture bright photos.

one plus
Talking about video recording, the phone can record videos up to 1080p. Stabilization was good in daylight footage, only the footage was a little shaky while moving.

Verdict

I’m glad that finally we have a OnePlus smartphone that comes under Rs 20,000. But at the same time, I’m disappointed that the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G doesn’t significantly step up the competition. The features that this phone offers are good but not good enough to make it stand out in the market. Software updates and fast charging are some of its attractive points, apart from this the phone seems to be a mashup of handsets from BBK owned brands like Realme and Vivo. It is similar to these in appearance and performance.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G faces tough competition from Vivo T1 which is also Rs 3,000 cheaper than its base variant, and is similar in specifications. Moto G71 5G (Review) is also cheaper by Rs 2,000 but it does not have a high refresh rate screen. The phone has an AMOLED display and ultra wide camera.

If you have made up your mind that you have to buy a OnePlus smartphone and getting software updates for a long time is on your top list, then you can look at Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. For the rest, I think the Vivo T1 and iQoo Z6 offer the same performance at a lower price. The Moto G71 5G is another option, if you can go with a 60Hz display.

Realme GT 2 Pro Review: Much more than expected

0

Realme GT 2 Pro It’s the most expensive Realme phone currently sold in India, but it’s also one of the most affordable models you can buy with Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line processor. It has only one direct competitor and that is Motorola Edge 30 Pro (review),
With a starting price of Rs 49,999, the GT 2 Pro has a lot to offer. Such as a 2K display, fast charging, a good set of cameras and the promise of good gaming performance. So is this a better option than Moto phone? Let’s find out.

Design of Realme GT 2 Pro

The back panel of Realme GT 2 Pro has an optional unique texture. It is said that this is an imitation done to give the feel of paper products. Regarding the special material used in its back, Realme says that it has been taken from renewable sources and has been used in the white and green versions of the phone. Whereas, the Steel Black variant has a common glass panel with frosted texture.
moto
After using the white unit for a few weeks, I’m happy to say that the phone doesn’t suffer from any permanent stains or marks in daily use, as I thought it would. Its wavy texture creates good grip. It also ensures that fingerprints and smudges are not an issue. I like the look of its matte-finished aluminum frame and the overall aesthetic of the phone, but I wish Realme had given its most expensive model a little more character to make it stand out from the rest of the phones in the portfolio.

A big selling point of the Realme GT 2 Pro is its display, which is usually found in expensive Android flagships. Its 6.7-inch AMOLED panel has 2K (3216×1440) resolution, with 10-bit color depth and maximum brightness of 1,400 nits. It also has LTPO 2.0 technology, which means the refresh rate can vary from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on your activity. Apart from this, Realme has used Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for scratch protection. Needless to say, its display performs well for playing games and watching videos.

A 65W SuperDart fast charger, a USB cable and a case are provided in the box of Realme GT 2 Pro.

Realme GT 2 Pro price, specs and software

The price of the base variant of Realme GT 2 Pro is in the range of Rs 50 thousand. This is 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Whereas, the variant priced at Rs 57,999 has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and this is the variant that I have.

Realme GT 2 Pro has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It supports 13 5G bands and you get DUAL 5G support for both SIMs. This should be enough for the upcoming 5G network in India.

The phone has stereo speakers, which are Dolby Atmos certified. Like Apple’s True Tone feature, color temperature sensors are provided in the front and back of the phone to adjust its display color (white balance). Additionally, heart rate monitoring has been implemented in the in-display fingerprint sensor as an experimental feature.

moto
The Realme GT 2 Pro has a stainless steel vapor cooling chamber, which promises to protect the phone from overheating. The software includes a GT Mode toggle, which is supposed to prevent throttling the phone’s processor to deliver better performance in heavy apps.

Two features of the phone are missing. Wireless charging and IP rating. Although there is a rubber gasket around the SIM tray to prevent water, which suggests that measures have been taken to protect the phone from water. But, Realme has not given any official guarantee. In comparison, both these features have been offered in Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which may turn customers away from GT 2 Pro.

Realme GT 2 Pro runs on Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. The look of the interface is customizable and it runs smoothly. There are a lot of bundled apps on the phone, including Realme Store and Community. Most of these can be uninstalled. I didn’t face any notification spam or any other issues from Realme’s first-party apps, which surprised me.

With this phone, Realme has promised three years of Android OS updates and four years of security updates. I think this is a good way to keep the faith.

Performance and battery life of Realme GT 2 Pro

Carrying the Realme GT 2 Pro does not feel cumbersome or heavy. Although this is said to be the case for many flagship Androids. The phone is not too thick and weighs (189 grams), which makes it feel light and easy to carry. However, its glass back variant is a bit heavy, weighing 199g.

The GT 2 Pro handled popular social and productivity apps well. Its interface was always fast and fluid. I also like that the in-display fingerprint sensor is close to the center of the display.

moto
The display of the phone becomes bright enough for the content to be clearly visible. It becomes bright even in direct sunlight. The display resolution was ‘auto select’ throughout my review period and I found that it rendered all apps and content, including games, very well at WQHD+ resolution.

The Realme GT 2 Pro excelled with media playback and gaming.

Videos looked great with excellent color saturation, adequate brightness and good HDR rendering. The stereo speakers were also very loud and sounded good. Gaming performance was also solid. Asphalt 9: Legends ran smoothly, with solid frame rates and good graphics. However, after playing a demanding game like Fortnite for a long time, the phone’s body became hot. Even when playing the game indoors, I noticed that the upper half of the frame and parts of the back panel got very hot after about 20 minutes. After a point I had to put a case on the phone because the heating was unbearable.

This issue was not with every game. But graphically demanding games push the GT 2 Pro’s cooling system to its limits. The phone also performed very well in benchmarks. Got an impressive score of 972,119 points in AnTuTu.

The battery life of the phone was also quite good. I was able to use the phone for a day or a little more on a single charge. The phone lasted 20 hours and 41 minutes in our HD video loop test. Charging its 5,000mAh battery with a 65W charger doesn’t take much time. You can fully charge it in just over half an hour. That means it charges very fast.

Camera of Realme GT 2 Pro

Realme GT 2 Pro has a good set of cameras. It performs well in daytime and low light. Realme has used Sony IMX766 50 megapixel sensor for the main rear camera. It also has a wide F/1.8 aperture with optical stabilization. It can shoot videos in 8K resolution at 24fps. Autofocus was quick in daylight and landscape shots yielded rich detail and colors. Close-up shots yielded excellent background blur with excellent details. Low-light pictures were also very good. It had less noise and more detail than average. Due to OIS, sharp and good details were found in low-light close-ups.
img20220503124005
img20220503124007
img20220502150607
Realme GT 2 Pro has an ultra-wide camera with a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor. we did this OnePlus 10 Pro (review) I have seen. Ultra-wide shots yielded less detail and colors weren’t very accurate to the actual scene, but barrel distortion and HDR were handled better. The camera app has a 150-degree shooting mode, like the 10 Pro. This allows you to take advantage of the full field of view of the lens. Low-light photos were not as bright as those obtained from the main camera. There was still a lot to experiment with, though.
img20220502151110
The third camera of the phone is a 2-megapixel sensor with ‘micro-lens’. It allows capturing extreme close-ups at 20x or 40x magnification. This lens can be used to capture something special from everyday objects. In ‘Microscope’ shooting mode, the phone should be a millimeter away from its subject. Because light is an issue in this mode, two LEDs above and below the micro-lens are automatically activated when using this mode. Apart from this there are some interesting filters also.
img20220502225105
img20220502225114
img20220502230204
Realme GT 2 Pro has the same 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor selfie camera, which was in OnePlus 10 Pro. It takes good pictures during the day and in low light. Skin smoothing is enabled by default for selfies. However, if you switch to the Natural profile, the skin tone and texture become much better.
img2022050225175649
The video recording capabilities of the Realme GT 2 Pro are also top-notch. 8K videos shot during the day and at night looked good, but the stabilization made the camera look a little jerky. Videos recorded at 4K also looked great and had smooth stabilization. The camera app also allows you to switch between the main and ultra-wide cameras when recording at this resolution.

what is our decision

There should be no doubt that the Realme GT 2 Pro is a very good premium smartphone. In my opinion the base variant with 8GB RAM offers the best value. I would recommend it for its great performance, unique texture design, good battery life and cameras. However, if IP rating and wireless charging matter to you, the Motorola would be a smarter choice.

Its 12GB variant is less expensive than other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones, but the price is around Rs 58 thousand. i think that Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (review) Or OnePlus 9 Pro 5G (review) Options like these are more complete flagships and offer better value. Yes, they may lack the processor power of the GT 2 Pro, but they make up for it with features like wireless charging and an official IP rating.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G First Impressions: Raises hopes

0

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G was launched recently. This is a good mid range phone from OnePlus, which is priced below Rs 25 thousand. The phone has good software, better battery life and amazing performance. Overall, it will be liked by those who want a good all-rounder phone. We have also listed this phone among the best smartphones available under Rs 25,000. Now the company has launched OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G which is the lite version of OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. Has OnePlus maintained the same balance with features or has the company lost its way while trying to launch the phone at a lower price? I spent some time with OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G and my first impressions about this smartphone are as follows-

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G The price of 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in India is Rs 19,999. Its second variant comes with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage which is priced at Rs 21,999. The base variant has been launched only in Black Dusk color, while the top variant has been launched only in Blue Tide finish.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G Blue variant obviously looks like the Nord smartphone. This time the phone is not given a solid shade of blue; rather, when the phone is placed under the light and rotated, it appears to go from sky blue to a slightly yellow shade. Textured finish has been given near the camera module.

oneplus
In the short time I spent with the phone, I found that fingerprints were not easily visible on it. A clear case is also available with the phone in the box, which is useful. Apart from this, Nord sticker, SIM ejector pin, red cable club membership card, 33 watt SuperVOOC charger and a signature red USB Type C cable are available in the box.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has a large 6.59 inch display. It has a camera hole in the top left corner which houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It is an LCD panel with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. There are thin bezels on the sides of the display but thick bezels are provided at the top and bottom.

The sides of the phone are flat which makes it comfortable to hold. The fingerprint scanner is provided on the right side with a slight slope, whose position is quite comfortable and due to the slope it is easily detected. Volume button and SIM tray are provided on the left side of the phone. You will get only secondary microphone at the top. Whereas USB Type-C port, primary microphone, speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack are provided at the bottom.

oneplus
The weight of the phone is 195 grams. Due to its curved sides, much of its thickness cannot be known. The phone has a triple camera in the rear. The camera module feels protruding from the body and the phone looks raised when placed on a flat surface. The phone has a 64-megapixel primary camera with EIS support. Apart from this, there is a 2 megapixel depth camera and 2 megapixel macro camera. Like Nord CE 2 5G, it does not have an ultrawide camera.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip. We have already seen this processor Vivo T1, Moto G71 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5GAnd Realme 9 Pro 5G Like we have seen in devices. This phone supports Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi and five 5G bands. It has a hybrid dual-SIM tray, so you’ll be able to use either a second SIM or a microSD card.

oneplus
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G phone is based on Android 12 and runs on Oxygen OS 12.1. Many new features can be seen in the UI. I will talk about this in more details in the full review. The March 2022 Android security patch was installed on my unit. OnePlus has promised to provide two main Android updates and three years of security updates for this phone, which may give it some advantage in the competition.

After using the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G for some time, I can say that it seems quite reliable. However, competition is strong in this price segment. I’ll be testing its camera, performance, battery life, and software soon, so stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for a full review of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G.

Realme GT Neo 3 First Impressions: Gaming friendly phone with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, 150W super fast charging

0

The Realme GT Neo 2 (Review) lived up to my expectations as a gaming grade smartphone. Now the company has launched its successor which seems to follow the same formula. Some features of Realme GT Neo 3 put it in the race for premium smartphones of 2022. Let’s take a closer look at this gaming friendly smartphone launched by the company.

This latest smartphone of Realme Realme GT Neo 3 And Realme GT Neo 3 (150W) The name has been launched in two models. There are also two options in the model with 80W fast charging support. Its 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model comes at Rs 36,999 and 8GB RAM + 256GB model comes at Rs 38,999. In models with 150W charging, a 150-watt charger is available inside the box. It has 12 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and is priced at Rs 42,999. Different battery capacities are provided in both the models. The 80W phone has a 5,000mAh battery while the 150W model has a 4,500mAh battery.

Realme

I had the top end 150W model. In terms of looks, it looks like the old model. The phone has a polycarbonate frame and matte glass back panel. Weighing in at 188 grams, it doesn’t feel too heavy either. If there is any major change in the design then it is the two racing stripes which give it a sporty look. The phone can be chosen from Nitro Blue, Sprint White and Asphalt Black colors. Its asphalt black gives a softer look as it does not have racing stripes.

Realme GT Neo 3 has a 6.7-inch Full HD Plus AMOLED display. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch protection. The display comes with a 120Hz peak refresh rate and thinner bezels at the bottom compared to the GT Neo 2.

Realme

The highlight of the Realme GT Neo 3 (150W) is its 150W charging capability. Realme claims that the 150W model is equipped with its “Ultradart” adaptive charging controller. It can charge 50 percent of the battery in just five minutes.

The battery of the phone is divided into two units in which the capacity of each unit is 2,250mAh. When it comes to battery safety, the company says that its charging system is certified by TUV Rhineland. It has a smart MCU control management system, which disconnects it from the power source if anything goes wrong with the battery. The company claims that its battery can retain 80 percent of its holding capacity even after completing 1,600 charge cycles.

A major change in Realme GT Neo 3 has been made in the form of MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor. The processor is good but you will have to wait for the full review to know how the device performed with it in gaming and daily basis. Realme says that it has provided a second dedicated processor for the display which increases motion estimation, motion compensation and reduces the load on the GPU and also reduces the overall battery consumption of the phone.

I did not like the camera performance in Realme GT Neo 2. The GT Neo 3 seems to have been downgraded in terms of sensor resolution. The primary lens is 50 megapixels with which optical image stabilization is available. The same 8 megapixel camera is available as ultra wide, along with which there is also a 2 megapixel macro camera. There is a 16 megapixel selfie camera in the front.

The phone runs on Realme UI 3 with Android 12. The phone appears to have all the Android 12 features, but I also noticed a lot of pre-installed third-party apps.

Realme

Realme GT Neo 3 appears to be a powerful phone in terms of functionality. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, the new MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC, and astonishingly fast 150W charging. The main lens has OIS support which is not available in this segment. Is this a good upgrade from the older model? And to know how it competes with the recently launched OnePlus 10R, do check out the full review.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Review: Is it a powerful upgrade?

0

It has not been more than 6 months since the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G was launched in India. If you are looking for a smartphone with IP rating below Rs 40 thousand, then this phone is still considered powerful. The company’s newly launched Galaxy A53 5G is also basically the same smartphone but this time it has been launched with the new Exynos SoC instead of Qualcomm processor. For this reason, there are some noticeable differences in the performance of the phone. This makes us more interested to know whether the new model is a strong upgrade?

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G price in India

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Comes in two variants in India. Both variants have 128GB storage. Its 6GB RAM model is priced at Rs 34,499 while the 8GB variant is priced at Rs 35,999. Of the two, the model with more RAM seems to offer more value for money. The phone has been launched in four finishes. These include Light Blue, Awesome Black and Orange. I received its Light Blue variant with 8GB RAM for review.

Design of Samsung’s Galaxy A53 5G

The design of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is based on the Galaxy A52s 5G and some elements are also seen in the recently launched Galaxy S22 series. Overall, the design of the phone looks quite different and fresh. The mid frame of the phone is made of polycarbonate but on the sides it is wide and flat as seen in Galaxy S22 devices. The design of Galaxy A52s 5G has been taken in the rear panel. It is polycarbonate with matte finish. The phone feels very smooth and premium in the hand. It does not easily get fingerprints or stains on it. Its camera module looks integrated into the back panel but it is slightly protruding. This phone is a little thicker than the old model. The black out provided for the camera lens looks quite attractive.

On the lines of Galaxy A52s 5G, it also has a 6.5 inch Full HD Plus Super AMOLED display. It is flat and comes with Gorilla Glass 5 scratch protection. The left and right borders of the phone are slim but the phone feels a little thick at the top and bottom. Fingerprint scanner is also provided in the display. It works as expected and is reliable. I liked the way Samsung has fitted the earpiece on the display and top frame as it is barely visible. Like the previous model, it has IP67 rating for dust and water protection.

Samsung

Specifications and software of Samsung Galaxy A53

Galaxy A53 5G has Exynos 1280 processor. Samsung used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor from the Galaxy A52s in the Galaxy A73 5G. Galaxy A53 5G has 5G, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and normal satellite navigation system. 3.5mm headphone jack is not provided in the handset. Also, this time USB Type C audio adapter is not provided with the box. The phone has support for dual 5G standby. It comes with a hybrid dual SIM tray that supports microSD card up to 1TB.
Samsung

Talking about interface, Samsung’s One UI 3.1 is available in it. It is based on Android 12 and gives the best custom Android experience. The theme engine changes the colors of the interface and app icons based on the wallpaper selected for the home screen. There is also a lot of bloatware available in the phone, which also has a long list of Samsung apps. Additionally, there are Microsoft and third party apps as well. But you can remove most of them.

Samsung Galaxy A53 performance

Limiting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC to the Galaxy A73 5G did not prove to be a profitable deal for Samsung. Exynos 1280 SoC performs well in regular use but no significant difference was seen in benchmark tests. The Galaxy A53 5G scored 498 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 1,806 points in the multi-core test. The phone scored 3,72,582 points on AnTuTu. These scores are around that of smartphones priced lower than this. This shows that in this price segment the phone is less powerful than its price. In comparison, the older Galaxy A52s had scored 739 points in the single-core test and 2,733 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. In this respect, the older model proves to be more powerful.

Talking about graphics quality, in Call of Duty: Mobile it could reach only medium with the frame rate at ‘Max’. The game was being played on the phone but there were lags at some places in between the matches. The touch sampling rate of the display also didn’t impress much. The game ran best at ‘Low’ graphics and ‘Medium’ framerate settings, which is disappointing for a premium smartphone. I also felt heat in the phone after Call of Duty: Mobile gameplay but there was no impact on performance. Asphalt 9: Legends ran smoothly on default settings.

Samsung

The refresh rate of the display varies between 120Hz and 60Hz. During the testing period, I found that it remained at 120Hz even while browsing webpages, streaming videos on Instagram or YouTube. The only time it dropped to 60Hz was while using the camera app and playing games. The Super AMOLED display of the phone is quite bright. Its colors are punchy and shines clearly even in direct sunlight. It does not support HDR but the content looks good in video streaming and blacks also look deep. The sound of stereo speakers is balanced and quite loud.

It proves to be better in battery life than its older model. It has a large battery of 5000mAh. It lasted 19 hours 44 minutes in the HD video loop test, which is quite impressive. In normal use the phone lasts for two days which is a good thing. The company does not provide a charger in the phone box. I plugged my 61W USB PD charger into it. The phone supports 25W charging. It charged from zero to 100 percent in 1 hour 51 minutes, which is not bad but not as fast as its rivals.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G cameras

The cameras of Samsung Galaxy A53 5G are the same as the old model. The rear has a 64-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. It has a 32 megapixel camera for selfie. The camera app can be customized and many shortcuts are also available in the viewfinder.
Samsung

Photos taken in daylight were quite good and had ample dynamic range along with details. Like the Galaxy A52s 5G, the colors in the photo were slightly oversaturated and a slight blue tone was also visible. The macro camera is quite useful, picture detail was good. Portrait shots of the selfie camera were also quite crisp and clear with no lack of detail and dynamic range. Edge detection was also quite good.

20220401
20220401
20220401

When shooting in auto mode in low-light, the camera showed good dynamic range but I did notice some noise. At the same time, in Night Shot mode the camera took one second more time to capture the shot. Photos were brighter but details were reduced. The standard Night mode also took a few seconds to capture low-light landscapes but the quality was good. Even after turning on night mode, selfies taken in low-light appeared with blur and noise.
20220405
20220405

Its ultrawide angle camera takes good shots in daylight but the photo looks blurred and stretched at the edges. Low-light shots were quite low in quality and looked soft even at the best quality.

1080p videos shot at 30fps in daylight were recorded quite stable and the dynamic range was also good. The same footage was recorded at 60fps with slight shaking. Videos shot at 4K were the best in detail but lacked stabilization. Low-light videos were quite low in quality. 1080p videos shot at 30fps in low-light appeared blurry and had a shimmering effect. The primary camera seemed to struggle to focus at night.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphone has a lot of potential, but it falls short in performance. This is because of its new processor. I think this processor is mid range Galaxy M33 5G (Rs 18,999) and not for a phone above Rs 35,000. The daylight performance of the phone is quite good. This is the only phone in this segment that comes with IP67 rating. Galaxy A52s 5G (Review) It gives better gaming performance, it also has a headphone jack and a charger also comes with the box. The price of the phone (Rs 32,499) is also lower than the new model which makes it a better option.

Talking about rivals, iQoo 9 SE (Starting at Rs 33,990) gives it the biggest competition. We have not reviewed this phone yet but it has a better Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and a 66W charger is available in the box. 8GB RAM is available in its base variant. If you want a clean Android experience, then Motorola’s Moto Edge 20 Pro You can see that it comes with Snapdragon 870 SoC and also has a 108-megapixel primary camera.

Realme C35 Review: Design is strong, but performance…

0

Budget smartphones priced under Rs 10,000 offer better value for money in terms of hardware. Glitter or premium design is rarely seen in these smartphones. In these, the company tries to provide good user experience as well as good battery life. However, Realme has tried something new in its C-series. The new Realme C35 has a premium look and finish, which makes it stand apart from the rest in this segment. The company managed to fit a 5,000mAh battery in its slim body. The phone looks great, but is it equally good in performance? Let’s find out in this review.

Realme C35 price in India

realme c35 Comes in two variants. The base variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and is priced at Rs 11,999 in India. The price of its 128GB storage variant is Rs 12,999. Both variants are available in two finishes – Glowing Black and Glowing Green. I received the base variant in Glowing Green for this review.

realme c35 design

Compared to the earlier C-series smartphones, Realme C35 feels quite fresh. Even though this phone is made of polycarbonate like the other models of the series, it still feels premium. Keeping in mind the current design trend, the company has used a matte frame whose sides and edges are flat. The rear panel is also flat but in glossy finish.

Realme

The camera module on the rear panel is protruding from the body but I was surprised that despite this the phone did not move from its place on a flat surface. The light green shade of the phone’s polycarbonate body finish is attractive but fingerprints become visible very quickly. Its sharp look makes the phone look modern but it is not so comfortable to hold, because the edges of the phone look quite sharp.

The power button is given on the right side of the phone, on which the fingerprint scanner is also present. Many times it was difficult to recognize it because it seemed to be embedded in the frame.

Realme
This phone of Realme has a 6.6 inch FullHD Plus LCD panel which comes with a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. Dewdrop notch has been given in the phone. It doesn’t bother me while watching the content, but it does seem a bit dated. There are thin bezels around the display but the bottom chin is thick. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also provided at the bottom of the phone. Along with this, primary mic, USB Type-C port and speaker are also provided.

Realme C35 specifications and software

Realme C35 has Unisoc T616 processor with a maximum clock speed of 2 GHz. Two Nano SIMs can be used in the phone and a dedicated microSD card slot is also available in the SIM tray. In this, storage can be increased up to 1TB. For connectivity, this phone has 4G/LTE band, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 and satellite navigation system.
Realme
Talking about the operating system of the phone, it is based on Android 11. It runs on Realme UI R Edition which is a lite version of the regular Realme UI. This has been done by reducing some customization options for smoother performance. The phone also comes with many preinstalled apps which can be removed later.

Realme C35 performance and battery life

The overall experience of the phone was not very special because it seemed as if the hardware was not fully successful in supporting its software. Suddenly there was a lag while scrolling between lists and apps. Overall, the phone performed like an entry level smartphone rather than its price level.

It performed as expected in benchmark tests. The phone scored 2,12,939 points on AnTuTu. The phone scored 368 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 1382 points in the multi-core test.

Realme

The display of Realme C35 offers saturated colors in default settings. But the results were much better when changing from Vivid to Gentle mode. The panel is a FullHD+ LCD and looks bright even outdoors or in direct sunlight.

The gaming experience in this phone was not very good. The processor could not play any game smoothly. Even simple games like Subway Surfers and Temple Run 2 were running with mild lag. Call of Duty: Mobile was lagging a lot even at the lowest settings.

Realme
The phone’s 5,000mAh battery lasted 10 hours and 56 minutes in our HD video loop test. This is below average for a budget device. In regular use the phone could last a little more than a day. This too would be considered below average. The phone took 2 hours 7 minutes to fully charge with an 18W fast charger.

realme c35 cameras

Realme C35 has three cameras in the rear panel. Which has a 50 megapixel main lens, 2 megapixel macro shooter and 2 megapixel black and white camera. The phone is equipped with an 8 megapixel camera for selfie. The features of the camera app have been reduced somewhat. The icon for quickly changing settings in the viewfinder has been removed.

The camera captures good photos in daylight. The dynamic range of the primary camera is quite good but even in daylight, details were found to be very less. The HDR system was producing overly aggressive photos at times, making the sky appear too blue. Macro shots appeared with oversharpness.

Realme
You will find portrait mode only in the rear camera. Edge detection was quite good but the background was getting overexposed. Portrait mode only worked on people and didn’t work on objects for some reason.
img
img
img
Image quality reduced significantly in low-light. In low light the camera struggled to focus and photos looked quite soft. Contrast improved slightly in Night mode but photos became very soft and blurry. Overall, there was disappointment in night photography.
img
img
The Realme C35 smartphone can record videos up to 1080p at 30fps. Video quality was average in daylight. The footage looked quite shaky, meaning there was no stabilization. A lot of noise (grains) was seen in the video in low-light. The camera was also having trouble focusing, especially while panning.

Verdict

There is no dearth of options in the bottom line of budget smartphones these days. Realme has many phones in this segment. The prices of many of these are around this. The Realme C35 loses out due to its average battery life and below-average camera performance. Only its design is going to attract the user in the phone.

If we talk about its options then you Realme Narzo 50 You can see which starts from Rs 12,999. It has MediaTek processor, 120Hz display, high resolution selfie camera and 33W charging. We have not reviewed it yet, but if we look at the specifications, it looks better than Realme C35.

besides you Micromax In 2B Can see. It gives smooth software experience. Now Moto G31 is also available at a price of Rs 11,999. This phone gives experience like stock Android. It has an AMOLED display and has been given a water resistant design. All these options prove to be better than Realme C35, hence it becomes very difficult to recommend this phone of Realme.

Poco X4 Pro 5G First Impressions: Best upgrade from the previous model!

0

Poco X4 Pro 5G is the best smartphone of this time. Last year, the company launched Poco X3 Pro, which stands near the flagship level smartphone and X4 is its next model. Costs are continuously increasing in the smartphone industry. Instead of increasing the price of the smartphone, Poco has fitted a lighter processor in the upgrade. Reiterating the X series means that fans currently waiting for the Poco F1 will be disappointed. But that’s not so bad, as the Poco X4 Pro 5G proves to be an all-rounder compared to its predecessor.

Poco X4 Pro 5G Its price in India is Rs 18,999. There is no doubt that to a large extent these smartphones have been recently reviewed by us. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G Is like. The rear panel of the Poco phone is different and there is some difference in the specifications. But the body proportions and dimensions of both the phones are the same. All ports and buttons have the same location. The charger and USB cable of both the smartphones are also similar. Even their boxes look similar, except for the print material used on them.

poco
The weight of Poco X4 Pro 5G is 205 grams which is 3 grams more than the weight of Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. This could be because of the camera module. If seen carefully, the cameras are also fitted in the same position in both the phones. Along with the primary camera, AI is also printed on the same empty space as seen in Redmi phones.

There is a difference visible in the back finish of Poco X4 Pro 5G. Apart from Poco’s signature yellow color, this phone also comes in Laser Blue and Laser Black. All of them have a pattern of lines like the one seen in laser stage lights. When the phone is shaken, lights are seen coming out from both the corners. Poco’s logo is given in big letters in the camera module. This is a brand that mostly doesn’t go into details in its design but it looks quite good in its black unit.

It has a 64 megapixel camera. We will test it in the full review to find out whether it has actually been downgraded or not. Apart from this, you get 8 megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2 megapixel macro camera and 16 megapixel front camera.

The phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and 5000mAh capacity battery with 67W fast charging. The phone has a 6.67 inch Super AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate. Gorilla Glass 5 protection has been provided in it. Stereo speakers are provided in the phone. It comes with dual 5G support but the SIM tray is hybrid. For connectivity, it is equipped with Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1 and GPS. An infrared emitter is also provided at the top of the device. Apart from this, 3.5mm audio jack is also available in it.

Poco X4 Pro 5G has Android 11 based MIUI 11 skin. It seems that Poco was trying to provide an enabled app drawer by default. But apart from that, everything else is the same as in the first model. It is expected that Android 12 update will also be given in it.

img
The base variant of Poco X4 Pro 5G has 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The price of the variant is Rs 18,999. The price of its 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant is Rs 19,999. Apart from this, there is also an 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant which comes for Rs 21,999. Poco is also offering offers and exchange bonuses for customers of some banks.

Poco was considered by Xiaomi as a brand focusing entirely on youth. Now the company is on a new path. There are already many smartphones of Redmi Note 11 series available in the market and they seem to be competing with each other even on price point. In such a situation, it becomes very difficult for you to choose a better phone among these.

It may not seem right to focus too much on the similarities found between the two smartphones, but these are the first impressions of this smartphone. It is very difficult to ignore these facts. We will do a full review of this device so that you can know everything about it in details. Till then stay tuned to Gadgets 360.

Oppo K10 Review: How much competition will it give in the budget?

0

Oppo has launched budget-friendly K-series smartphones in China in the last several years. Now the company has brought this series to India, which it has started with Oppo K10. Some of the highlights of the phone include IP54 rating for dust and water protection, scratch resistant design and some camera improvements. It is said that Oppo K10 comes with average specifications in India.

The smartphone market is flooded with handsets in the sub Rs 20,000 range, which include handsets with 5G, high resolution cameras, super fast charging, stereo speakers and even IP rating. Will Oppo K10 be able to maintain itself in this race? Let us know.

Oppo K10 price in India

Oppo K10 The price of 6 GB RAM variant in India is Rs 14,990. The price of its 8 GB RAM variant is Rs 16,990. Both these variants have 128 GB storage. The phone comes in Black Carbon and Blue Flame color options.

Oppo K10 design

Despite being low-budget, Oppo has made the look of this phone quite attractive according to this price segment. I really liked its bright and dynamic look of blue color. Matte finish has been given in the frame of the phone and the back panel also has the same element in most parts. Its smooth texture does not allow fingerprints to come in easily. I even tried scratching the back panel with my fingernail as per Oppo’s claim but there was no mark on it. Even without the case it probably won’t cause you any problems.
oppo
Its rectangular camera module is reminiscent of the Oppo A76 but there is a separate bright area around the phone’s camera bump. There are some things written here like ‘Super Performance’ and ’10-K’. Oppo says this is simply a part of the phone’s design, whereas I was initially thinking it had to do with the phone’s name.

Headphone jack is provided at the bottom of Oppo K10. There is also a speaker here, but the earpiece is used for stereo sound. Fingerprint sensor is provided in the power button.

The phone has a 6.59-inch LCD display with Full HD Plus (2412×1080 pixels) resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. This is a standard looking beautiful panel. Brightness and colors are quite good. A cutout has been provided for the selfie camera, which looks quite modern. You will get to see thick bezels around the entire display.

oppo
The box of Oppo K10 comes with a transparent case and a 33W SuperVOOC charger along with some other accessories. The quality of the case is quite good, it gives all-round protection to the display. It also protects the edges and ports of the rear camera. The finish of the phone is quite smooth, so this case prevents the phone from slipping from the hand.

Oppo K10 specifications and software

The IP54 rating given in Oppo K10 is one of its special features, because IP53 rating is seen in other competitors in this price range. In terms of dust protection, it will perform like other smartphones, but in terms of water protection it should be better.

The company has used Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor in it. It does not support 5G connectivity, but is quite powerful. You will also see the same processor in handsets like Realme 9i and Redmi Note 11. Apart from this, the phone also has features like dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS and FM radio. Its battery capacity is 5,000mAh. With 33W fast charging, it charges very fast. A dedicated microSD card slot is also provided in the SIM tray. It supports up to 1TB storage.

oppo
Oppo K10 smartphone comes with Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1. There are many pre-installed apps on the phone but most of them can also be removed. Some apps provided by Oppo like Theme Store and Game Space were seen sending spam notifications at times. Oppo has not promised updates for a long time. Therefore, it cannot be said whether there will be any update in it even after Android 12 or not.

Oppo K10 performance and battery life

The 6GB variant of the Oppo K10, which I tested, performed very well during the review. The phone remained quite fast in normal use and the fingerprint sensor never failed. It also has face recognition, which works well even in low light. K10 also has RAM expandable feature which is set to 2GB by default. But I didn’t feel the need to increase it. By the way, it can also be expanded up to 5GB.
oppo
It was fun watching and listening to videos with the phone’s display and speakers. But the left and right channels are not well balanced. The primary speaker is noticeably louder than the earpiece, but that’s better given the absence of stereo sound. The display can be read comfortably even in direct sunlight.

The gaming performance of the phone is quite good. However, the best experience was not found in most heavy games like Asphalt 9: Legends and Call of Duty Mobile. The visuals were a bit disappointing. Call of Duty’s visuals improved slightly after turning the graphics to ‘Very High’ settings. Most advanced graphics settings were not available.
In terms of battery life, Oppo K10 performed well. On a single charge I was able to use the phone for almost two full days. The phone also performed well in our HD video loop test and lasted about 15 hours. It is not the best, but quite good. The battery can be charged faster. The phone gets fully charged in about an hour.

Oppo K10 cameras

Oppo K10 has a 50-megapixel main camera, along with depth and macro shooters. You don’t get an ultra-wide camera, which may be a disappointment. I would have preferred to have an ultrawide camera instead of the other two 2-megapixel cameras on the phone. This is not the case only with K10. recently Realme 9 5G The same thing was seen in I too when the ultra-wide camera was missing from the phone. There is a 16 megapixel camera in the front for selfie.
img20220319133255
img20220319133352
The camera app seems to be standard, similar to what we’ve seen on recent Oppo phones. There are some features in this phone that I have not seen before. One of them is the AI Palette feature. You’ll find this in the Edit menu of Photo Gallery. Through this you can apply different color tones on the photo. This is very useful for those who like editing with their photos. Apart from this, there is an AI re-touch slider through which the level of beautification on people’s faces in photos and videos can be adjusted. But it works only in rear camera. The phone also has Oppo’s Bokeh Flare Portrait filter which we saw in the Oppo Reno series.
img20220321221503
In good lighting the main camera was able to capture good looking photos. In direct sunlight or mildly backlit, the Oppo K10 struggled a bit with exposure. However, the landscape shots were good. Close-up shots taken outdoors were also good. The macro camera did not impress with its quality.

Colors were good in low-light landscape shots but details were lacking. There was a blooming effect when taking photos in front of a light source, which got resolved after turning on night mode. However, even after this there was not much difference in the details. Close-up shots taken in low-light were also good.

img20220321220744
img20220319133307
Selfies taken outdoors were good. The camera was saving them in full 16 megapixels. Edge detection was not very good in shots taken in portrait mode. Selfies taken in low light were average and lacked details.

The Oppo K10 smartphone can only shoot videos up to 1080p. You will not get stabilization in this. There’s also no separate stabilization mode, even if you keep the resolution at 720p. Talking about quality, videos were being recorded usable in daylight, but this was not the case at night.

Verdict

Oppo K10 recently launched in terms of design and specifications Oppo A96 Very similar to. Due to the stereo speakers, macro camera and IP54 rating in the phone, it seems to be more value for money. The battery life of the phone is quite good. You will like its fast charging, attractive display and all-round performance. The price of the phone is also good, but keep in mind that there are 5G options also available in the market at the same price. For example, the Poco M4 Pro 5G is a good option, with an IP53 rating. Redmi Note 10S A bit old but still a good phone at the same price as the K10.

The biggest weaknesses of the Oppo K10 are its poor video recording performance and the absence of an ultrawide camera. If you are not very interested in photography or videography, then this can be a good option for you. The base variant of Oppo K10 offers the best value.
