Yogi government is going to take another big step towards connecting AYUSH medical education with modern technologies. The government is preparing to provide state-of-the-art 3-D anatomage tables (digital mortuaries) in AYUSH medical institutions to make studies and training more effective. Its objective is to provide modern and scientific study of human anatomy to the doctors and students associated with Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani systems.
In fact, availability of cadavers has long been a major challenge in medical education. In such a situation, due to limited resources for studying anatomy even in AYUSH institutes, students have to face difficulty in practical studies. In view of this, the Yogi government has prepared a strategy to connect modern digital technology with medical education. Uttar Pradesh will be the fourth state in the country to adopt it.
Director General of AYUSH and Mission Director Chaitra V said that in view of the lack of availability of cadavers in medical education, the Yogi government has prepared a strategy to provide 3-D anatomy tables to the students of AYUSH institutes for studying anatomy. According to this Lucknow This facility will be provided in the Government Ayurveda College, Government Homeopathy Medical College and Government Takmeel-Uttab Unani College located there.
With this, students studying in the field of AYUSH and practicing doctors will be able to understand the internal structure of the human body in great detail even without an actual cadaver. He told that the 3-D Anatomage Table is a state-of-the-art digital equipment, which is also called “digital mortuary”. It is a large touch-screen based system that houses high-resolution 3-D models of the actual human body. Students and doctors can study the skin, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and bones of the human body by looking at it layer by layer.
Director General of AYUSH said that the biggest feature of 3-D Anatomage Table is virtual dissection. In this, an actual dead body is not required, rather various parts of the body are studied through digital models. Students can rotate, zoom and view any part of the body from different angles with the touch of fingers on the screen.
Apart from this, the structures inside the body can also be understood in detail through facilities like X-ray view. This technology is not limited to education only, but is also proving useful in planning medical treatments and surgeries. In this, a three-dimensional model can be prepared by uploading the CT scan and MRI scan of the patients. This helps doctors to analyze diseases more accurately and plan treatment better.
3-D Anatomage Table helps medical students to realistically understand the complex structures of the human body. This increases the practical understanding of the students and they can become more efficient doctors and surgeons in the future. At present this facility is available only in selected institutions of the country. Through this, virtual dissection is done in the department of ‘Anatomy’ at the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Delhi.
Apart from this, this technology is also being used in National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur and SDM Ayurveda College, Hassan, Karnataka. After the launch of this facility in Uttar Pradesh, the state will become the fourth state in the country, where 3-D anatomage table will be used in AYUSH medical education.

Pressure mounts on Starmer’s government, as Labour rivals including recently resigned Wes Streeting circle.
Published On 16 May 2026
Wes Streeting, the former British health secretary who resigned from the government this week, says he will run to replace Prime Minister Keir Starmer when the contest is triggered.
Starmer’s government has been on the edge, with the United Kingdom leader facing calls for resignation since his ruling Labour party suffered disastrous local elections.
Though Starmer has brushed aside growing criticism, a Labour contest to replace him looks all but inevitable in London.
While still not announcing he has kickstarted the formal leadership challenge process, Streeting confirmed on Saturday that he will vie to replace Starmer and become the centre-left Labour’s new leader.
Whoever leads the governing party, which has a big majority in the UK’s parliament, will by default become prime minister.
“We need a proper contest with the best candidates on the field, and I’ll be standing,” Streeting told a think tank event in London on Saturday. The former health secretary has urged Starmer to set a timetable for his departure.
In his address to the Labour supporters at a Progress group gathering, Streeting took a dig at the prime minister, saying Labour “arrived in government underprepared in too many areas and lacking clarity of vision and direction”, reported the UK’s Guardian newspaper.
On Thursday, Streeting resigned from the Labour government, saying he no longer had “confidence” in Starmer’s leadership. A day later, Streeting threw his weight behind Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham, who is seen as a top contender to replace Starmer as the Labour leader to lead the country.
“We need our best players on the pitch. There is no doubt that Andy Burnham is one of them,” Streeting wrote on X. “Andy is the best chance of winning, and that should override factional advantage or propping up one person.”
Starmer’s time in office has been dogged by controversy over the appointment of Jeffrey Epstein associate Peter Mandelson as the UK’s ambassador to Washington, as well as frustrations with slow-moving domestic policy changes.
More than 80 MPs in the British parliament have urged him to quit, while four junior ministers have stepped down. Some Labour politicians appear to be rallying around Burnham.
On Thursday, Labour MP Josh Simons resigned from his seat in Makerfield to make way for Burnham to seek election to parliament, which is necessary if he is to challenge Starmer for the party leadership. Labour has agreed to let Burnham seek a return to parliament.
The Makerfield by-election is to be held next month at the earliest – a local contest that could end up defining who leads the UK after Starmer.
If Burnham is elected to the parliament, he would need to gather support from 81 Labour MPs, or 20 percent of the party in parliament, to launch a challenge against Starmer.
Another potential challenger, Angela Rayner, said on Thursday that tax authorities had cleared her of wrongdoing following an investigation into her tax affairs, seen as a hurdle to her leadership bid.

A whopping 91% of “Saturday Night Live” jokes targeted conservatives this season, according to a new analysis by Media Research Center’s NewsBusters, and President Donald Trump has remained the show’s favorite punching bag.
According to the analysis, provided exclusively to The New York Post, “Weekend Update” delivered 205 jokes aimed at conservatives compared to just 18 targeting liberals and three nonpartisan jabs during the season’s first 19 episodes.
Trump alone accounted for more than 100 punchlines, nearly half of those assessed, while conservative figures dominated the show’s cold opens at a far higher rate than their left-leaning counterparts.
More specifically, 49 Republican-centered portrayals overshadowed the 10 Democratic-focused and one nonpartisan-focused portrayals identified in the analysis.

Jokes taking aim at the president were made in tandem with more than a dozen Trump portrayals from James Austin Johnson during this season’s cold opens, the Post wrote, followed in quantity by War Secretary Pete Hegseth, ex-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s characters.
Fox News Digital reached out to NBC for comment but did not immediately hear back.

As far as “weekend Updates” jokes are concerned, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. trailed the president at second, followed by Noem.
The Post highlighted how New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani had only been targeted once by “Weekend Update,” while tying the analysis to a broader critique of the anti-Trump sentiment of late-night television.
When reached for comment, NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News Digital, “For liberals who might be fearful they won’t be able to receive their far-left “comedy” fix once Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ goes dark, look no further than ‘SNL.’… Whether it’s celebrity appearances or incendiary rhetoric masquerading as satire, ‘SNL’ will scratch that itch.”
Houck added, “These networks are largely unapologetic in the fact that they do not represent all Americans. It’s about using their supposed power to bend the public to their worldview.”

Timmy the whale has been confirmed dead by Danish authorities two weeks after the beached humpback was transported to the North Sea in a rescue attempt criticised as “pure animal cruelty”.
Denmark’s Environmental Protection Agency said a whale had been found dead on Friday near the small island of Anholt in the Kattegat, a broad strait between Denmark and Sweden, and confirmed it was Timmy on Saturday.
Jane Hansen, division head at the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, said in a statement: “It can now be confirmed that the stranded humpback whale near Anholt is the same whale that was previously stranded in Germany and was the subject of rescue attempts.”
She added that conditions on Saturday made it possible for a Danish Nature Agency employee to locate and retrieve a tracking device that was fastened to the whale’s back, and “the position and appearance of the device confirm that this is the same whale that had previously been observed and handled in German waters”.
The 10-metre long calf became a global sensation after it was spotted stranded on Timmendorfer beach, a sandbank in shallow waters off the coast of Germany, nearly two months ago.
As its health deteriorated, German officials gave up trying to rescue the mammal, saying they believed it could not be freed.
But after a national outcry, two millionaires in Germany said they were prepared to pay “whatever it costs” to release the creature.
The rescue attempt – which is believed to have cost about €1.5m (£1.3m) – involved floating Timmy away from the sandbanks and into a water-filled barge, which was pulled by a tugboat from Wismar Bay near the German city of Lübeck to deeper waters off the coast of Denmark.
It was criticised as “inadvisable” by the International Whaling Commission because the male juvenile, nicknamed Timmy after the beach where he was stranded, appeared to be “severely compromised” and was unlikely to survive after its release.
Experts from the Oceanographic Museum in Stralsund on Germany’s Baltic coast also recommended Timmy should be left to die in peace.
The young whale was described as lethargic, weak and covered in blister-like blemishes after spending weeks in water with low salinity. Parts of its mouth were believed to have been caught in a fishing net.
The museum’s director, Burkard Baschek, warned that trying to save Timmy amounted to “pure animal cruelty”.
After being released from the barge into the North Sea on 2 May, the whale was observed blowing through its blowhole and swimming freely “in the right direction”, according to Karin Walter-Mommert from the rescue initiative.
Later, however, it emerged that a tracker intended to monitor Timmy’s progress was not working. In a joint statement earlier this month, Walter-Mommert and her co-financier, Walter Gunz, one of the founders of a leading electronics chain, distanced themselves from the manner of the whale’s release.
“We hereby expressly distance ourselves from the events and the manner in which the whale was abandoned,” they wrote, calling for “any consequences” to be borne “by the owner, the operators, and any crew members of the ships Fortuna B and Robin Hood”.
The whale was found dead about 70km (45 miles) south of the location of its release two weeks ago.
Hansen said the Danish authorities had “no concrete plans to remove the whale from the area or to perform a necropsy, and it is not currently considered to pose a problem in the area”.
She urged people to stay away from Timmy’s body, due to the possibility it may carry diseases.
Speaking to the Guardian on Friday, before the identity of the dead whale was confirmed, Amy Dickham, a professor of wildlife conservation at the University of Oxford, said there were many lessons to reflect on from the case.
She said: “It’s really striking that there’s been such a focus on this individual animal at such great cost during a time of great crisis for wildlife funding around the world.
“It is really questionable whether it was a good use of funds, particularly compared with issues that impact much greater numbers of whales, such as collisions with vessels and entanglements with fishing gear.”

It is rivalry week in baseball, and I can’t say I fully understand what that looks like for some of these teams. The Toronto Blue Jays, for example, are playing the Detroit Tigers. Is that just because they are in close proximity? Or, is it because Canada is too nice to have a real rival, so they just assigned them the Tigers?
Who knows. Either way, we have an all-New York matchup, and I think we get a good price on one of the teams today.

The New York Yankees are among the best teams in baseball at the moment, and there aren’t many reasons to believe that will change over the course of the year. For the season, they are sporting a 28-17 record, but they do have some road woes as they are just 14-11 away from home.
ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON’T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!
If the Yankees keep up this pace, however, they are projecting to be a 100-win club. While that guarantees nothing, it should put them as a likely host for the majority of the postseason.
I’m sure there will be slumps and issues along the way, but so far it has been smooth sailing, and they look to get stronger with guys like today’s starter coming back to the club. Carlos Rodon will take the hill today and look to improve on his shaky first outing. Against the Brewers in his last start, he went 4.1 innings, allowed two hits, three earned runs and five walks.
The walks are the biggest concern to me, but maybe he was just getting his mechanics down. Mets hitters haven’t been very successful against Rodon, hitting just .215 over 65 at-bats.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but this was supposed to be a big year for the New York Mets. As an objective observer, I will at least give them credit for trying. There are a lot of big league clubs that don’t put any effort.
The problem is that their throwing money at players doesn’t seem to translate the way it does for, say, the Dodgers. The team is 18-26 for the season, with exactly half of their wins and losses coming at home. Their hitting is rough, with just a .225 batting average, and they are in the bottom quarter of the league in runs scored.

Their pitching has been reliable, but they did just get an injury to one of their starters. What’s crazy, to me, is outside of Freddy Peralta, the Mets’ pitching doesn’t have names you’d really recognize. However, they are turning in good outings. The hitting just doesn’t get it done.
Saturday will be a bullpen game for the club with Huascar Brazoban taking the mound to open it. The Mets do have one of the better bullpens in the league, but I’m not rushing to the window to back them.

Juan Soto of the New York Mets reacts after hitting an RBI single during the fifth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Opening Day at Citi Field in New York City on March 26, 2026. (Ishika Samant/Getty Images)
Saturday has the chance to be an ugly one for the Mets. Bullpen games can be good, and they’ve become increasingly popular over the years. I think this game likely goes under the 8.5 runs posted because the Mets can somewhat play the matchups. I also think Rodon is talented, and the Yankees also have a good bullpen.

I don’t feel overwhelmingly confident in both plays, so I’m taking a unit and splitting it on the Yankees winning the game. And, the other half of a unit will be on the under. The Yankees are a better club with more consistent hitting, and I think the pitching should have the edge overall.
