This new product of Honor falls in the mid-range segment. Launched for Rs 10,999, this smartphone will compete with the most crowded budget segment smartphone in India. Honor 5C collision Moto G4 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Lenovo Zook Z 1 Like it will be from a great smartphone. Today we will review Honor 5C and know what shortcomings and features are in the smartphone.
Look and design
Honor 5C looks largely like Honor 5X. The rear panels of both phones are largely similar, especially brushed metal finish. The phone shows a slight difference in the phone towards the edges and at the bottom where the design and texture is slightly different from 5X. We feel that the 5C smartphone is far better than 5C. The camera lens and fingerprint sensor is also on the rear like the previous phone.
Apart from this, some other changes have also been made in this phone, the most important of which is the size of the phone. Honor 5C has a 5.2 -inch small screen. It is quite easy to catch the phone as it is small. When it comes to weight and thickness, the phone is quite different. Honor 5C looks quite strong.
The side of the phone is under standard layout. Power and volume buttons are given on the right side while there is a sim tray on the left. The micro-USB port and speaker is a 3.5 mm shock at the bottom and upwards. However, the phone has two grills, but the right side of these is really a speaker. Apart from this, there are roams on the side of the phone, which makes it good in hand but the grip of the phone becomes a bit difficult.
The phone has a 5.2-inch full-HD IPS LCD screen which covers 68.7 parts in the front. The phone has on-screen Android buttons instead of capacitive touch button. Talk about the screen, it is quite bright but not too shiny. Along with this, the color is also quite dull and in general we found the screen less vibrant and muted. Most of the time the screen is sharp, but if you spend the video or spend most of the time in sunlight, then you may find the screen a bit dull.
The Honor 5C has a fingerprint sensor on the rear which can be used to unlock the app with the phone unlocking. The fingerprint sensor is always on the standby and it does its work well even when the phone is in sleep mode. The fingerprint sensor is accurate but is not better than some of the devices we rejected recently. You have to put the finger on the sensor for some time to unlock the phone.
Specification and software
Honor 5C has most mid-range specifications like 5X but there is some difference. The most important of these is the use of Kirin 650 processor, which has been created by Huawei’s subsidiary Hisilicon. This is the new mid-range processor of the company. 5C is quite different in terms of processor from 5X coming with Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor. It is worth noting that 16 NM Finnfate+ is used to make this processor which promises better performance. Along with this, this processor also claims to give better battery life than Qualcomm and MediaTek.
Honor 5C has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card) and a 3000 mAh battery. However, in this price, you will also find smartphones with 3 GB or more RAM. Honor 5C gives a good memory management system from 2 GB RAM that keeps the app out of the RAM so that the phone runs without any trouble. However, the phone will have limited work related to graphics and works well under most common conditions.
Honor 5C runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, above which EMUI of Huawei is given 4.1 Skin. The change in the old and new EMUI version does not matter much because its well-known look remains intact. Which includes single layer user interface, notification shed and quick setting menu. One of the most special feature magazine lock screens in this UI is still given which replaces the lock screen background with a new picture each time. The phone manager app is very useful and this can do all the work like controlling the system optimization function, data ujase, app locking and battery consumption.
A lot of new features have also been received from Android Marshmallow including better performance, dose mode for battery optimization, now on tap and new app permission system. The OS given in this phone from the OS given in the previous Honor device is far better. But still we will prioritize the device that comes with MIUI and CyanogenOS due to more customization and control.
Camera
Hunar 5C has a 13 -megapixler rear and an 8 -megapixel front camera. Both cameras can record up to 1080 pixels and the rear camera has a single LED flash. Apart from this, there are HDR, slow-motion video, time laps videos and panorama mode.
The software found some more fun tricks that include Pro and Pro Video Mode so that you can adjust every setting, light painting, food mode and all-focus. The setting menu includes control, smile capture, self -timer and resolution for object tracking. There is a quick switcher between photos and videos with front and rear camera switcher, flash and filter.
Hunar 5C camera performance is better than Honor 5X. Photos from 5C come with good colors and detailing. The photos come fantastic in the well-lit settings and the pictures taken in low light are also fine. But there is a slight scatter in the pictures, but according to the phone coming in this price, the pictures are very good.
The focus speed has also improved from the previous phone and now the object tracking is better and the response is faster than before. The front camera has also improved. Macro shot is good and the camera brings good color and detailing pictures. However, like the second better camera phone available at this price, nothing special is found with the Honor 5C camera
Performance
Huawei did not provide its Hisilicon processor in Honor 5X. But the 5C has been given the Kirin 650 processor as usual. The performance of the phone is fantastic and the phone works well in almost every kind of situation. However, many better performing phones are available in other phones of this price. You will not get to see any special distress in Honor 5C.
The benchmarking test found good figures from Honor 5C. Graphics and video performance in the phone is fine but there is some problem while running several apps and playing heavy games simultaneously.
Honor 5C does not have any problem during the Qal quality, network and data connectivity. Despite the 3000 mAh battery, the battery life is also better than Honor 5X. In our video loop test, we got a battery life of 11 hours and 11 minutes from the phone and the battery is easily done at the time of normal use. Android dose mode helps a lot in reducing battery consumption and we note that despite 4G connectivity, the phone does not consume battery while not using.
Our decision
Honor 5C is a slightly better phone than its previous phone. Its high -capacity processors and little improvements in the camera make it better than 5X. The design and look of the phone is also better than before. There is not much to complain in the phone, especially with this price.
However, 5C cannot be called a tremendous phone. The phone does not have any special attractive feature and is an average device from all sides. If the price of the phone was a little less then it would have been better. Customers would prefer to buy some other phones like this Redmi Note 3 and Lenovo Zook Z1.
