Talent was buried under responsibilities, woke up as soon as music started playing, uncle did a great dance as soon as he woke up

The Epstein files dump has led to days of intense media coverage, revealing how powerful elites around the world engaged in either illegal or morally reprehensible behaviour. But even as journalists sift through millions of documents, one of the most significant stories remains largely missing from the mainstream narrative.

More than 500 Palestinians have been killed since a US-brokered “ceasefire” was signed, which begs the question: Should journalists, in contextualising the story, really be calling this a “ceasefire”? As Israel signals it’s preparing to resume full-scale war, we examine how media silence, selective framing and restricted access help keep Gaza off the world’s screens.

The T20 World Cup has started with a bang, but clouds of doubt are still looming over the mega match between India and Pakistan. The only question is whether the match will take place or not, there is uncertainty in this big match to be held after only 6 days at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. To clarify the situation, the International Cricket Council (ICC) sent a two-member delegation to Lahore on Sunday.
Vice presidents Imran Khawaja and Mubashir Usmani met Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi hoping for a positive outcome of the case. According to the report of Hindustan Times, both the sides seem ready for talks. The ICC delegation was successful in convincing Naqvi to reconsider his decision and talk to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Naqvi, who is also the Home Minister of Pakistan, will meet Shehbaz Sharif on Monday (February 9) and will give information about the discussions held with the ICC delegation. According to the report, the final decision in the case is expected within 24 to 48 hours. The FMCG company’s operating EBITDA margin stood at 15 per cent, down from 16.5 per cent in the same quarter last year, as gross margins came under pressure from pricing actions and elevated input costs.

BeyondTrust has released updates to address a critical security flaw impacting Remote Support (RS) and Privileged Remote Access (PRA) products that, if successfully exploited, could result in remote code execution.
“BeyondTrust Remote Support (RS) and certain older versions of Privileged Remote Access (PRA) contain a critical pre-authentication remote code execution vulnerability,” the company said in an advisory released February 6, 2026.
“By sending specially crafted requests, an unauthenticated remote attacker may be able to execute operating system commands in the context of the site user.”
The vulnerability, categorized as an operating system command injection, has been assigned the CVE identifier CVE-2026-1731. It’s rated 9.9 on the CVSS scoring system.
BeyondTrust said successful exploitation of the shortcoming could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute operating system commands in the context of the site user, resulting in unauthorized access, data exfiltration, and service disruption.
The issue affects the following versions –
It has been patched in the following versions –
The company is also urging self-hosted customers of Remote Support and Privileged Remote Access to manually apply the patch if their instance is not subscribed to automatic updates. Those running a Remote Support version older than 21.3 or on Privileged Remote Access older than 22.1 are also required to upgrade to a newer version to apply this patch.
“Self-hosted customers of PRA may also upgrade to 25.1.1 or a newer version to remediate this vulnerability,” it added.
According to security researcher and Hacktron AI co-founder Harsh Jaiswal, the vulnerability was discovered on January 31, 2026, through an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled variant analysis, adding that it found about 11,000 instances exposed to the internet. Additional details of the flaw have been withheld to give users time to apply the patches.
“About ~8,500 of those are on-prem deployments, which remain potentially vulnerable if patches aren’t applied,” Jaiswal said.
With security flaws in BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access and Remote Support having come under active exploitation in the past, it’s essential that users update to the latest version as soon as possible for optimal protection.
The Israeli PM wants US-Iran talks to address Tehran’s ballistic missiles – a red line for Tehran.
Published On 9 Feb 2026
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will head to the United States to meet Donald Trump as the US president confirmed plans to hold follow-on discussions with Iran after the weekend talks in Oman between the two foes, according to Netanyahu’s office.
The talks will address the US’s ongoing negotiations with Iran, said the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday, as Netanyahu believes Tehran should be pushed for “limitations on ballistic missiles” and ending its support for regional groups, such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
The planned meeting will be the seventh between Trump and Netanyahu since the US president returned to office last year. Analysts say Netanyahu will likely urge Trump to push Tehran on its ballistic missile programme, seen as a red line by Tehran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has maintained talks will remain focused on the nuclear issue and not its missile programme, which he deemed “non-negotiable”.
On Sunday, President Masoud Pezeshkian described the indirect talks held in Oman on Friday as a “step forward” and said his administration favours dialogue.
“Our reasoning on the nuclear issue is based on rights stipulated in the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” Pezeshkian wrote in a post on X on Sunday. “The Iranian nation has always responded to respect with respect, but cannot withstand the language of force.”
Iranian officials have signalled eagerness for nuclear-only negotiations, while rejecting a massive US military build-up in the region.
Though both Israel and the US are antagonistic towards Iran, Israel has taken an even harder-line stance on the negotiations, which Trump has said will resume this week.
The US president said the last round of talks that ended in Oman on Friday was “very good” and that Iran “looks like it wants to make a deal very badly”.
“If they don’t make a deal, the consequences are very steep,” Trump added.
The US-Iran talks come after weeks of Trump threatening military action if Iran did not strike a deal. He escalated pressure by deploying an aircraft carrier and accompanying warships to the Middle East.
World powers and regional states fear a breakdown in the negotiations could lead to conflict spilling over to the rest of the oil-producing region.
Iranian Minister Araghchi said the talks with the US are “a good start”, but that “there is a long way to go to build trust”.
Trita Parsi, cofounder of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, a foreign policy think tank, said the outcome of the US’s talks with Iran could hinge on whether Washington focuses on its nuclear demands, which are “absolutely achievable”, or adopts Israel’s maximalist position.
“If we see a continuation of the pursuit of Israeli red lines, I presume that those talks will collapse very shortly,” Parsi told Al Jazeera.
Goals by Kylian Mbappe and Alvaro Carreras allowed Real Madrid to peg back Barcelona in the La Liga standings.
Published On 9 Feb 2026
Real Madrid stayed within one point of La Liga leaders Barcelona with a 2-0 win at Valencia on Sunday as second-half goals by Alvaro Carreras and Kylian Mbappe settled a largely uneventful contest.
Real dominated possession but found chances hard to come by, with Valencia keeper Stole Dimitrievski rarely called into action as the visitors struggled to turn control into threat.
It took them until the 65th minute to break the deadlock through Carreras before Mbappe wrapped up the points in stoppage time.
Barcelona lead the table on 58 points, with Real second on 57. Valencia are 17th, a point above the relegation zone.
Mbappe offered the main outlet with sporadic runs down the left, but clear openings were limited.
Real coach Alvaro Arbeloa was forced to improvise, missing suspended winger Vinicius Jr and the injured trio – Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and Eder Militao.
The absences opened the door for academy players Raul Asensio, David Jimenez and Gonzalo Garcia to start, with Mbappe providing the lone spark for an uninspiring Real side.

The deadlock was broken through fullback Carreras in a fortunate turn of events.
Making an ambitious run into the box, Carreras was dispossessed by Valencia’s defenders, but the attempted clearance ricocheted back off him and fortuitously fell at his feet.
The 22-year-old was quickest to react, sweeping a low shot into the bottom-left corner.
Valencia offered little in response, and Real sealed the points in added time. Substitute Brahim Diaz launched a counterattack down the left and slid a low cross into the area for Mbappe, who finished first time from close range.
It was the France forward’s 23rd league goal, leaving him eight goals clear at the top of the scoring charts.
“Playing at Valencia is always like going to the dentist,” Arbeloa told reporters.
“We knew how difficult the match would be, how demanding they would be. It was a very serious and committed match. I’m happy.
“We can certainly raise our game in terms of brilliance. We have a lot of room for improvement. But a team is built on solidity and commitment. [Thibaut] Courtois didn’t make a single save today. Dedication, commitment, sacrifice. Madrid demonstrated those values once again today.”
Elsewhere on Sunday, Atletico Madrid slipped further adrift in the title race after a 1-0 home loss to Real Betis.
Antony struck in the 28th minute with a fierce effort from the edge of the box, earning Manuel Pellegrini’s side a valuable victory as they bolstered their push for European qualification.
Atletico are a distant third in the table on 45 points, three points ahead of fourth-placed Villarreal, who have two games in hand. Betis sit fifth on 38 points.

A white supremacist who killed 51 Muslim worshippers at two mosques in New Zealand in 2019 said on Monday that he was irrational when he pleaded guilty, as he sought to overturn his conviction.
Brenton Tarrant, 35, appeared in court in Wellington via a video link, and gave evidence as he sought to overturn his guilty pleas and face a trial.
The Australian national attacked two mosques in Christchurch during Friday prayers in the deadliest mass shooting in New Zealand’s history.
He used military-style semi-automatic weapons and livestreamed the killings on Facebook with a head-mounted camera.
While Tarrant initially denied all charges and was preparing to stand trial, he entered guilty pleas a year later to 51 charges of murder, 40 counts of attempted murder and one charge of committing a terrorist act.
Tarrant told the court his mental health had deteriorated due to harsh prison conditions while he was awaiting trial, and that he was essentially not fit to plead guilty, according to a report in the New Zealand Herald.
“I did not have the mindframe or mental health required to be making informed decisions at that time,” Tarrant said.
“I think the issue is, did I really know what I wanted to do or what would be a good idea? No, I didn’t actually … I was making choices, but they were not choices made voluntarily and they were not choices made rationally due to the (prison) conditions.”
Counsel acting for Tarrant had their names and identities suppressed by a court order, and could not be reached for comment.
A court document showed the Court of Appeal would check if Tarrant was incapable of making rational decisions when he entered his guilty pleas “as a result of the conditions of his imprisonment, which he says were torturous and inhumane”.
Tarrant is the first person sentenced by a New Zealand court who has received a sentence requiring them to spend the rest of their life in prison after receiving a life sentence in prison without parole.

The appeal hearing is scheduled to last for five days and is expected to finish on Friday.
If the appeal court declines to grant the application to quash the guilty pleas, a hearing later in the year will consider the appeal on his sentence.
If the charges are overturned, the case will be sent back to the High Court for Tarrant to stand trial on the charges.
Families of some victims assembled at the Wellington court to watch Tarrant give evidence, which lasted for several hours.
“It’s really annoying because he’s trying to play with all of us, and this is just a waste of our time and waste of taxpayers’ money, and he just wants to play with us,” Rashid Omar, whose son Tariq was killed in the shooting, told state broadcaster TVNZ.
