Blake Miguez scores Trump endorsement for House run after ditching Senate bid

President Donald Trump has endorsed Louisiana state Sen. Blake Miguez, who recently dropped a U.S. Senate bid to run for the U.S. House of Representatives instead.

“It is my Great Honor to endorse MAGA Warrior, Blake Miguez, who is running to represent the tremendous people of Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District,” the president declared in a Truth Social post on Wednesday. “Blake Miguez has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!”

Miguez thanked the president for his support.

“THANK YOU, President Trump for your ENDORSEMENT! Louisiana deserves true, America First representation in Washington to back the MAGA agenda. President Trump is the greatest president in our nation’s history. I’m honored to have the endorsement and look forward to delivering for Louisiana’s 5th and our country,” he declared in a post on X.

Last year, Miguez mounted a U.S. Senate bid, declaring in a campaign video that he was running for the position because GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana “sucks.”

After the House impeached Trump in 2021, Cassidy was one of the Republican senators who voted in favor of convicting, but the Senate vote occurred after the president had already departed from office and the vote ultimately failed to meet the threshold for conviction.

Last month, Trump threw his support behind Rep. Julia Letlow, pledging to back her for U.S. Senate.

“I am hearing that Julia is considering launching her Campaign for the United States Senate in Louisiana, a place I love and WON BIG, six times, including Primaries, in 2016, 2020, and 2024!” the president declared in a Truth Social post. “Should she decide to enter this Race, Julia Letlow has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, JULIA, RUN!!!”

Letlow, who currently represents Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District, launched a Senate bid days later.

A press release this week declared that Miguez is now running for the U.S. House seat.

“When I announced my campaign for the U.S. Senate last year, I promised Louisianians I would stand with President Trump and fight for an America First agenda that puts Louisiana families first,” Miguez said, according to a press release. “I remain committed to that promise, and I’m ready to deliver the kind of representation that will support President Trump and help advance the mission to Make America Great Again.”

Zendesk spam wave returns, floods users with ‘Activate account’ emails

0

Zendesk

A fresh wave of spam is hitting inboxes worldwide, with users reporting that they are once again being bombarded by automated emails generated through companies’ unsecured Zendesk support systems.

Some recipients say they are receiving hundreds of messages with strange or alarming subject lines.

Users flooded with bogus ‘Activate account’ emails

Since yesterday, numerous social media users say they have begun receiving large bursts of emails with subject lines such as “Activate your account” and similar support-style notifications appearing to originate from different companies.

Wiz

Recipients say the messages arrive in rapid succession and look like legitimate automated replies from customer support portals, despite never signing up or submitting a ticket.

“Anyone else getting a slew of failed account & support sign-up emails?” posted security researcher Jonathan Leitschuh on LinkedIn.

“Someone is DDoSing Zendesk support ticketing systems and other account creation processes across the internet with my email right now. Anyone know what the attacker is hoping to achieve here?”

Several users took to social media [1, 23] to report their inboxes overflowing with similar messages:

(@nickvernij on X)

Similar to the previous incident, the emails appear to be sent from real companies’ Zendesk instances, allowing them to bypass spam filters and land directly in inboxes.

The activity strongly suggests attackers are once again abusing Zendesk ticket submission forms to trigger confirmation emails to large lists of addresses.

What happened in January

In January, a massive global spam wave was traced to attackers abusing Zendesk’s ability to let unverified users submit support tickets.

Each ticket automatically generates a confirmation email to the email address entered, enabling threat actors to turn exposed support portals into large-scale spam relays.

The earlier campaign began around January 18 and affected several companies, with some recipients receiving hundreds of messages with bizarre or alarming subject lines.

Multiple companies had confirmed they were affected by the spam wave, including Dropbox and 2K, who responded to tickets to tell recipients not be concerned and to ignore the emails.

Zendesk had earlier told BleepingComputer that it had introduced new safety features on their end to detect and stop this type of spam in the future.

“We’ve introduced new safety features to address relay spam, including enhanced monitoring and limits designed to detect unusual activity and stop it more quickly,” Zendesk said at the time.

“We want to assure everyone that we are actively taking steps – and continuously improving – to protect our platform and users.”

In a December 2025 advisory, Zendesk had also warned customers about this type of abuse, explaining that attackers were sending what it called “relay spam” by abusing Zendesk instances.

The company said earlier that organizations could prevent this type of abuse by restricting ticket creation to only verified users and removing placeholders that allow any email addresses or ticket subject to be used.

The renewed activity suggests attackers may still be able to abuse exposed Zendesk ticket portals despite the safeguards introduced earlier this year.

BleepingComputer has contacted Zendesk for comment and will update this story if we receive a response.

Loss of life was avoidable in worst small boat disaster in Channel, inquiry finds | Immigration and asylum

0

Loss of life was avoidable in the worst mass drowning from a small boat crossing in the Channel, a public inquiry has found.

The 454-page report by the former high court judge Sir Ross Cranston is highly critical of failings around the deaths of at least 24 men, seven women and two children in November 2021.

The inquiry was not able to conclusively determine the number of people on the boat. One of two survivors said there were others onboard, including an Ethiopian man and at least two other young children, who had neither been found nor accounted for. Those on board were given orange life jackets that appeared to have been stuffed with cotton, which provided ineffective buoyancy.

The Cranston inquiry found systemic failings, missed opportunities and inadequate resourcing undermined the UK’s maritime search and rescue response on the night of the disaster; HM Coastguard was placed in an “intolerable position” with chronic staff shortages and limited operational capacity contributing directly to the failure to rescue people in the water.

Calling for an end to small boat crossings, Cranston said on Thursday: “Apart from other reasons it is imperative to prevent further loss of life. Travelling onboard a small, unseaworthy and overcrowded boat and crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, is an inherently dangerous activity.”

Of coastguard staff shortages and the failure to alleviate them, he said: “This represents a significant, systemic failure on the part of government.”

IMFA posts 18.6% profit margin in Q3, plans capacity doubling

0

Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director, Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA)

Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director, Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA)

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) reported a profit after tax of ₹130.67 crore on revenues of ₹702.83 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, marking an 18.59 per cent profit margin. The Bhubaneswar-based ferro chrome producer’s EBITDA stood at ₹164.33 crore with a margin of 23.38 per cent.

The company is set to double its ferro chrome capacity through two initiatives. A greenfield expansion adding 100,000 tonnes per annum capacity at Kalinganagar is on schedule, with the first furnace expected to be commissioned in June 2026. Additionally, IMFA signed agreements in November 2025 to acquire Tata Steel’s ferro chrome plant at Kalinganagar for ₹610 crore, adding 150,000 tpa capacity. The acquisition is pending regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the current quarter.

These expansions will increase IMFA’s total production capacity from 284,000 tpa to 534,000 tpa, positioning it as India’s largest ferro chrome producer. The company produced 67,196 tonnes of ferro chrome in Q3 and sold 64,802 tonnes, with exports accounting for ₹603.15 crore of quarterly revenue.

Managing Director Subhrakant Panda attributed the results to improved realizations and stable operating costs. He indicated plans to increase domestic market exposure as new capacity comes online, while benefiting from reduced production costs due to proximity to captive chrome ore mines at Sukinda and Mahagiri.

The shares of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd ended on the NSE today at ₹1,326, up by ₹2.30 or 0.17 per cent.

Loss of life was ‘avoidable’ in deadliest ever Channel migrant boat sinking, inquiry finds | UK News

0

The lives of more than 30 people who died trying to cross the Channel in a small boat could have been saved had a French warship responded to a Mayday call, an inquiry has found.

Chairman Sir Ross Cranston also said the people smugglers who supplied the unsafe inflatable vessel, and flaws in HM Coastguard’s search and rescue response, contributed to the deadliest incident of its kind on record.

The boat became swamped and capsized while attempting the journey from France to the UK in the early hours of 24 November 2021.

A four-week public inquiry identified 27 men, women and children, whose bodies were recovered, while four other people are missing and presumed dead.

Only two of at least 33 people who boarded the boat survived after they were recovered in French waters nearly 12 hours after the first calls for help.

In his 454-page report, Sir Ross concluded the loss of life “was avoidable” and “some of the deaths could’ve been prevented” as he said: “The practice of small boat crossings must end.”

He said: “Apart from other reasons, it is imperative to prevent further loss of life.

“Travelling on board a small, unseaworthy and crowded boat, and crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, is an inherently dangerous activity.”

Sir Ross said the people smugglers involved supplied an unsafe vessel with inadequate safety equipment for the crossing, then dangerously overloaded in with at least 33 people.

The inquiry heard Mubin Rizghar Hussein, a 16-year-old Iraqi Kurdish boy, made the first distress call to the UK authorities at around 1.30am, telling the operator: “Everything is finished”.

HM Coastguard broadcast a Mayday message at 2.27am, when the closest vessel was the French warship Flamant, which was being used by the French Coastguard, about 15 minutes away.

The reasons why Flamant did not respond to what was called “incident Charlie” are subject to a French criminal investigation, so the report states the impact remains “uncertain”.

“However, given its proximity to incident Charlie at the time of the Mayday relay, and that the small boat was intact at this time, if the Flamant had attended incident Charlie, many more and possibly all lives would have been saved,” it said.

Sir Ross also said “systematic failures, missed opportunities and inadequate resourcing” undermined the UK’s search and rescue response.

HM Coastguard was placed in an “intolerable position”, with “chronic staff shortages” and “staff overwhelmed” at Dover, and other deficiencies, “contributing directly to the failure to rescue people in the water,” the report said.

The issues had been known about for some time, but no action had been taken, representing a “significant, systemic failure on the part of government”, which was then led by then prime minister Boris Johnson, it said.

A total of 367 people were rescued by Border Force in the Channel that night, while 757 people arrived in the UK after crossing by small boat on November 24.

A Border Force cutter boat, Valiant, had left at 2.22am to get to the last location of the boat, but did not find it, which the report said was “not attributable to the captain or crew”.

The search was terminated after one of another three small boats was recorded as incident Charlie, and a helicopter also returned to base.

Sir Ross said a widely held belief that callers from small boats “exaggerated their level of distress” impacted “negatively” on the search and rescue response.

This meant after the last call was made at 3.11am, the search coordinator didn’t give “any serious consideration” to the alternative scenario that those on board had fully entered the water, the inquiry found.

One of the two survivors, Issa Mohamed Omar, from Somalia, told the inquiry he was holding on to what remained of the boat all night and could hear people screaming, with around 10 people still alive as the sun rose.

“I believe if rescue would come quickly I believe half of those would still be alive today,” he said.

“Because we have been seen as refugees, that’s the reason the rescue did not come at all. We feel like we’re treated like an animal.”

A French fishing boat found the first bodies floating in the 13C water at around 12.30pm, the inquiry heard.

The inquiry concluded: “If a search for survivors had been adequately undertaken during 24 November, including daylight hours, more lives would’ve been saved.”

Sir Ross said much has improved since the incident but has made a series of 18 recommendations relating to the search and rescue for small boats and more generally.

Doctors rushed me into transgender surgery — now a legal reckoning has begun

0

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Two million dollars.

That’s how much money a 22-year-old woman just won in a New York lawsuit against her doctors. She sued them for medical malpractice after they cut off her breasts when she was 16. They told her she could become a boy, even though that’s biologically impossible. Now she has won the first-ever lawsuit against doctors who try to give sex changes to kids.

That brave young woman isn’t alone.

I’m 21 years old, and I’m also suing the medical system that gave me sex-change treatments starting at age 13. There are so many other young people like us. We were lied to by doctors, nurses and therapists when we were vulnerable and confused children. They did irreversible harm to our bodies and minds, making a mockery of the medical profession. They should absolutely be held accountable for sacrificing us in service to radical transgender ideology.

HHS GOLD STANDARD STUDY FLIPS ‘GENDER AFFIRMING CARE’ ON ITS HEAD AS DEMS KEEP PUSHING TRANS ISSUES AT SCOTUS

The woman in New York has a heartbreaking story. She accused a psychologist and surgeon of pressuring her to get a sex-change surgery when she was a teenager. While her mother was opposed to the surgery, she felt like she had no choice but to allow it. That checks out: Doctors tell parents all the time that without a sex change, their child is going to commit suicide. How can a parent argue with that?

But “fixing” someone with a sex-change surgery is what actually breaks them. The New York woman found that out the hard way. She’s now a detransitioner, and she’ll be dealing with the effects of those doctors’ actions for the rest of her life. In that $2 million settlement, the jury awarded her $1.6 million for her pain and suffering — and $400,000 for future medical expenses. She’s probably never going to stop needing physical and mental health care because of what was done to her.

I WAS TOLD I WAS A BOY. SUPREME COURT MUST DESTROY LIES THAT HARM WOMEN LIKE ME

The exact same thing happened to me. In my pre-teen years, I became deeply confused about my gender because of the influence of social media and video games. But instead of helping me accept that I’m a girl, therapists and doctors told me I was a boy.

CALIFORNIA AG SUES HOSPITAL THAT ENDED GENDER TRANSITION TREATMENT FOR MINORS TO COMPLY WITH TRUMP POLICIES

They gave me puberty blockers at age 13, stopping my body from developing naturally. They gave me cross-sex hormones not long after that, altering my brain as well as my body. At 16, they cut off my breasts, too. Years later, I still have bandages on my chest.

My doctors told me everything was reversible. But as soon as I realized the mistake I made, I also realized they had lied. There’s no real going back — not completely, and not ever. Like the young woman in New York, I was misled by the doctors my parents and I trusted. Just like her, I need medical help until the day I die. But the doctors who did this to me wouldn’t even talk to me, much less try to help me regain my life as a girl.

Doctors should know better. They’re dealing with kids whose minds and bodies are still developing. They’re dealing with kids going through the awkward years of adolescence. The best medical path is obviously to wait and watch. Wait to let kids develop naturally. Watch that development with the help of real mental health care, especially therapy that helps kids come to grips with who they really are.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FOX NEWS APP

Instead, these doctors are rushing kids down the irreversible and dangerous path of sex-changes. Do No Harm has found that nearly 14,000 kids have received sex changes in recent years, although the real number is almost certainly far higher. What’s been done to them is the definition of medical malpractice. The doctors who perpetrated this injustice should absolutely pay for the lives they’ve destroyed.

For that matter, every doctor who’s even remotely involved in providing sex changes should stop — immediately. People like me are coming for them. They pressured us and hurt us in profound ways. We demand justice. The $2 million that New York woman just won is a start. But this won’t end until the medical profession atones for its actions and stops giving sex changes to children once and for all.

3 Decisions CISOs Need to Make to Prevent Downtime Risk in 2026

0

The Hacker NewsJan 29, 2026Threat Intelligence / Incident Response

Beyond the direct impact of cyberattacks, enterprises suffer from a secondary but potentially even more costly risk: operational downtime, any amount of which translates into very real damage. That’s why for CISOs, it’s key to prioritize decisions that reduce dwell time and protect their company from risk.

Three strategic steps you can take this year for better results:

1. Focus on today’s actual business security risks

Any efficient SOC is powered by relevant data. That’s what makes targeted, prioritized action against threats possible. Public or low-quality feeds may have been sufficient in the past, but in 2026, threat actors are more funded, coordinated, and dangerous than ever. Accurate and timely information is a deciding factor when counteracting them.

It’s the lack of relevant data that doesn’t allow SOCs to maintain focus on the real risks relevant here and now. Only continuously refreshed feeds sourced from active threat investigations can enable smart, proactive action.

STIX/TAXII-compatible Threat Intelligence Feeds by ANY.RUN allows security teams to focus on threats targeting organizations today. Sourced from the latest manual investigations of malware and phishing done by 15K SOC teams и 600K analysts, this solution provides:

  • Early threat detection: fresh, extensive data expands threat coverage for attack prevention.
  • Mitigated risk of incidents: being informed about the most relevant malicious indicators minimizes the chance of incidents.
  • Stability in operations: destructive downtime is prevented, ensuring the company’s sustainability.
TI Feeds deliver quantifiable results across SOC processes

By delivering relevant intel to your SIEM, EDR\XDR, TIP, or NDR, TI Feeds expand threat coverage and offer actionable insights on attacks that have just happened to companies like yours.

Result: Up to 58% more threats detected for a reduced chance of business disruption.

TI Feeds drive early threat detection

Expand coverage and identify up to 58% more threats in real time

Integrate TI Feeds

2. Shield analysts from false positives

As a CISO, one of the most effective things you can do to mitigate burnout and improve SOC performance has more to do with analysts’ daily operations rather than overall management.

Analysts show better results when they can stay focused on real threats and actually do the job that matters. But false positives, duplicates, and other noise in threat data drain them. It slows down response and increases the risk of missed incidents.

Unlike other feeds with largely outdated and unfiltered indicators, ANY.RUN’s TI Feeds deliver verified intel with near-zero false positive rates and real-time updates. IPs, domains, and hashes are validated and 99% unique.

TI Feeds promote early detection with fresh indicators available via API/SDK and STIX/TAXII integrations

Integrating TI Feeds into your stacks means:

  • Taking resource-efficient action against threats for breach mitigation
  • Avoiding workflow disruptions and costly escalations
  • Achieving better SOC team performance, morale, and impact

Result: Higher productivity across SOC analyst Tiers with 30% fewer Tier 1 to Tier 2 escalations.

Protect your brand by mitigating downtime risk in 2026

Request access to TI Feeds

3. Shorten the gap between knowing and doing

Mature SOCs move from detection to response fast. This requires context: something that’s missing from ordinary threat intelligence. Without sufficient insights into malicious behavior, the investigation across multiple resources takes too much time and energy, heightening the chance of operational downtime.

How TI Feeds benefit SOCs across tiers

TI Feeds address the gap between alert and action. With behavioral context sourced from real sandbox analyses done globally by 15K+ security teams, it shortens MTTD & MTTR, helping businesses:

  • Reduce breach impact at scale by enriching indicators with real-world attacker behavior from active campaigns.
  • Prevent incident escalation caused by uncertainty and slow validation during early investigation stages.
  • Maintain operational continuity by accelerating investigations before attacks affect core business processes.

Result: 21 min faster Mean Time to Respond and lower incident response costs.

Conclusion

Prioritizing relevant threat intelligence, filling operational gaps, and improving the entire workflow from triage to response directly impacts performance rates across SOCs. For CISOs, this translated into a clear priority: take targeted action to reduce dwell time by empowering analysts with actionable, relevant, and unique threat intelligence feeds, enabling fast and confident decision-making.
