New rates of GST have been implemented across the country from Monday (September 22) across the country. The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), the top organization of traders and entrepreneurs, started an awareness campaign from the capital Delhi to ensure that the general public can get direct benefit of this change. It was started from the Kashmiri Gate Market, where information about new rates is being made to customers and traders through posters and charts.

CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal and Vice President Rahul Adalkha said that this poster campaign will not be limited to Kashmiri Gate, but soon it will be run in major markets like Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Karol Bagh, Connaught Place, Lajpat Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Chavadi Bazar, Rohini and Rajouri Garden.

GST chart prepared by more than 50 items

Brijesh Goyal informed that CTI has prepared GST chart based on more than 50 items. It shows a clear comparison of rates before and after 22 September. Its purpose is to tell the customers how they will feel the benefit of cutting GST rates on their pockets.

At the same time, the CTI team went to different shops on Monday (September 22) and informed the traders and shopkeepers about the new rates. Goyal said that when the traders themselves are updated, only then the customers will get real benefits.

‘MRP stickers are also being changed’

CTI vice -president Rajesh Khanna said that many shopkeepers have started removing the old MRP sticker from today and started installing revised stickers according to the new GST rates. With this, customers will be able to provide goods directly at a low price.
