
Despite military actions by India, Pakistan still remains a stronghold of terrorist organizations. He is giving them safe haven. According to the report of the US Congressional Research Institute (CRS), Pakistan is encouraging organizations plotting crimes in many parts of India including Jammu and Kashmir. This report supports India’s claim on terrorism. The report highlights that despite years of military operations and policy measures, terrorist groups continue to operate on Pakistani soil.
Lashkar-e-Taiba, responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and Jaish-e-Mohammed, a terrorist organization linked to the attack on the Indian Parliament in 2001, are active in Pakistan. The report said that some terrorist organizations have been in existence in Pakistan since the 1980s.
Pakistani terrorist group is inspired by Islamic extremist ideology
According to the report, most of the terrorist groups of Pakistan are inspired by Islamic extremist ideology. These groups fall into five broad categories – globally focused, Afghanistan-focused, India and Kashmir-focused, domestically focused and communal organizations. Islamic State-Khorasan, an affiliate of Islamic State, has about 6,000 terrorists and is active in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Lashkar responsible for many attacks in India
According to the report, Lashkar-e-Taiba was declared a foreign terrorist organization by America in 2001. Its leader Hafiz Saeed changed the name of the group to Jamaat-ud-Dawa to avoid sanctions. LeT is responsible for many attacks in India.

More than 15 terrorist groups active
The report lists 15 terrorist groups of Pakistan. Of these, 12 have been declared Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) under US law. Pakistan has suffered a lot from domestic terrorism since 2003.
