
Tamil Nadu’s ruling party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Dayanidhi Maran’s troubles have increased in connection with his alleged objectionable remarks about women of North India. The CJM Court of Muzaffarpur has issued a notice against him and ordered him to appear in person on 23 February 2026.
According to the information, in a recent statement, Dayanidhi Maran had allegedly made objectionable remarks about the women of North India. It is alleged that he said that women of North India are limited to only household work and giving birth to children, whereas women of Tamil Nadu are more educated, working and well-rounded. After this statement, resentment was seen in various parts of North India.

In the case, the complainant and advocate of Civil Court Muzaffarpur Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed a complaint in the court. He alleged that the MP’s statement hurts the dignity of women of North India and is made for the purpose of political gain.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the CJM Court issued a notice and fixed the date as 23 February 2026. The court has directed the MP to appear physically on the scheduled date and present his case.
