Finance Minister Jagdish Deora will present the general budget for the year 2026-27 in the House on Wednesday during the budget session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly. This budget can be of Rs 4.70 lakh crore. It is believed that this time’s budget will be special in many ways, because the government is presenting a “rolling budget” for the first time. That means, not just for one year, but the financial blueprint for the next three years will be presented. According to sources, the government can make many important announcements keeping in mind the youth, farmers, employees and middle class. It is possible to announce the filling of about 50 thousand vacant government posts in the state. Changes in the examination system may also be announced to make the recruitment process transparent and time bound.

Third full budget to Mohan government

Finance Minister Jagdish Deora will present the third full budget of the Mohan government. Let us tell you that 66-year-old Deora, born in Rampura village of Neemuch district, had earlier been the Finance Minister in the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government. Deora is a law graduate and holds MA and LLB degrees from Vikram University, Ujjain. Deora has been elected MLA six times and reached the Assembly for the first time in 1990.

Health Protection Scheme for Employees

Provision can be made for additional investment in water resources and Narmada Valley projects to increase irrigation capacity. Crop insurance, zero percent interest loans and farmer welfare schemes are likely to be continued.

To improve the transportation system in urban areas, a proposal to start “Sahakar Taxi Service” based on cooperative model may also come forward. It is being seen as an alternative to private app based taxi services. Apart from this, public transport service is going to start in the state in April. Provision can be made for this in the budget. On the financial front, the government faces huge expenses on salaries, pensions, interest payments, social schemes and subsidies.
