What is rolling budget?
In this system the budget is continuously updated by adding further periods every year or after a fixed period. In simple words, the budget is not made once and is left aside, rather it is changed every year according to new circumstances and needs and further years are added.
For example, if the government has made a three-year budget for 2026–27, 2027–28 and 2028–29, then as soon as 2027–28 comes, the period 2026–27 will be removed from the budget and the new year 2029–30 will be added in its place. This way the budget is always ready and updated for the coming three years.
