Before India took on South Africa in the first Super-8 match on Sunday, bowling coach Morne Morkel clearly said that there has been no discussion in the team regarding Abhishek Sharma’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup so far. Morkel said that Abhishek just needs a good start, after that he will get into the rhythm. This Indian opener has not scored runs in three matches yet.
During Friday’s practice session, Abhishek Sharma was seen having a long conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir was explaining some technical things to him and Abhishek was listening carefully. After this he also practiced high catches. Sometimes excessive practice can have the opposite effect. During the session, Abhishek was also seen bowling to other batsmen for a long time.
