New Delhi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was present in Colombo during the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match. This much-awaited match happened after a long drama. Pakistan first threatened boycott and then changed its decision. This dispute started on 1 February and ended late night on 9 February. The Pakistan government gave permission to its cricket team to play against India on 15 February. Before the U-turn, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief Aminul Islam Bulbul had appealed to Pakistan to play the match. Sri Lankan President Anur Kumar Dissanayake had also called Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

After the match, Naqvi met Dissanayake and described him as a “real hero”. Mohsin Naqvi, in his meeting with Sri Lankan President Anur Kumar Dissanayake, said, “First of all, warm greetings to you from the President of Pakistan (Asif Ali Zardari) and the Prime Minister (Shahbaz Sharif). They specifically asked me to convey their good wishes to you. In fact, you were the real hero in yesterday’s match, because because of you 2 billion people were entertained. It was only because of you that we were able to play the match.”
