Conspiracy hatched after attending the wedding

According to Superintendent of Police Prabal Pratap Singh, this theft was not planned by any professional criminal, but by three young men who had come to a wedding ceremony. The accused Sachin Rajput (19 years), Jitendra Rajput (25 years) and Shyam Sundar Rajput (21 years), residents of Bamrara village of Charkhari, had come to Purva Panwadi to attend a marriage function. His intentions got spoiled while visiting the temple. They thought that these idols were made of Ashtadhatu or gold, which would be worth crores in the international market.

Village youth were also included

Local informers provided information about the security and routes to the temple, in return for which the thieves gave them two bows present with the idols as a reward. When the police kept an eye on the suspects and detained Bhalu and Bhagwandas, the layers of the entire conspiracy were revealed.
