Maharashtra: Horrific accident on Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway; Maharashtra: Eight Women Laborers Killed As Truck Hits Tempo On Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway

A tragic road accident took place on the Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway in Jalna district of Maharashtra on Wednesday evening, in which eight women laborers were killed and three people were injured. This accident happened when the women were returning home after finishing cleaning work on the expressway.

There were 11 people in the tempo at the time of the accident.

According to the police, a total of 11 people were sitting in a tempo, which included the driver. As soon as the tempo was about to move, a truck coming at high speed from behind hit it hard. This accident happened near Kadwanchi village. The collision was so severe that the tempo was completely damaged and many bodies were scattered on the road.

Seven women died on the spot

In this accident, seven women died on the spot, while one woman died during treatment in the government hospital in Jalna. The deceased have been identified as Alkabai Admane (45), Laxmibai Madan (35), Meena Admane (45), Kanchan Admane (50), Tarabai Chaudhary (60), Kadubai Madan (55) and Suman Admane (70), all residents of Jalna tehsil. Another deceased has not been identified yet.

Treatment of three injured continues in the hospital

Three people injured in the incident are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Police have arrested the truck driver and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and started further investigation. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed deep grief over this accident. Describing it as a very unfortunate incident, he has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister said that the injured are being treated immediately and the administration is engaged in relief work.

Minister and BJP MLA expressed grief over the incident

At the same time, Environment Minister and Guardian Minister of Jalna district Pankaja Munde has also expressed grief over this accident and expressed her condolences to the families of the deceased. On this accident, Jalna BJP MLA Narayan Kuche said, ‘The incident that has happened is very sad… Eight people died in this accident… Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the dependents and family members of the deceased… Our Chief Minister is very sensitive about this matter.’
