The Maharashtra government’s cabinet on Tuesday (September 23) approved the proposal to use reserved funds reserved from the State Health Insurance Schemes for the treatment of 9 such serious diseases, in which the cost is more than five lakh rupees. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

A release issued by the Chief Minister’s office said that 20 percent of the claim settlement under the extended Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and the Ayushman Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana will now be transferred to the reserved funds managed by the State Health Assurance Society.

Government will give 22 lakh rupees for liver transplant

The statement said that this fund will include expensive processes like liver, lungs, heart and bone marrow transplantation, which do not currently come under the limit of five lakh rupees. The state government will pay up to Rs 22 lakh for liver transplant, Rs 20 lakh for lungs or joint hearted transplant, Rs 15 lakh for heart transplant, Rs 9.5 to 17 lakh for various bone marrow transplant.

Committee to be constituted under the chairmanship of Health Secretary

Along with this, transcatator aortic valve transplantation (TAVI) and Transcatator aortic valve replacement (TMVR) will bear the expenditure of up to Rs 10 lakh for heart valve procedures. The cabinet also approved amendment in the incentive allowances of doctors and employees of government hospitals involved in these treatments. The release said that a special committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Health Secretary which will monitor the measures to make surgery rates, the use of funds and to strengthen the hospitals.

What else did Maharashtra cabinet take decisions?

In other decisions, the cabinet sanctioned Rs 491.05 crore as a state part to convert the 116.15 km long Nagpur-Nagbhid Naro-gauge line into a broad-gauge track. This project of Rs 2,383 crore implemented by Maharashtra Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Maharal) has been completed about 85 percent. With the revised scheme, the state’s share has increased from 20 percent to 32.37 percent.

The state government has to pay a total amount of Rs 771.05 crore, in which payment of Rs 280 crore has been made and the remaining Rs 491.05 crore has been paid on Tuesday. The statement said that this project will improve a significant improvement in contact between Nagpur, Gondia, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts, boost local industries and farmers will benefit.

It will also connect Nagbhid to Vadsa-Desaiganj and further to Gadchiroli and Gondia. The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the proposal of allotment of land to Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation in Achole area of ​​Palghar district for setting up multi-specialty hospitals.
