Maharashtra: 68 Lakh Ladki Bahin Accounts Closed In Maharashtra Over E-KYC Non-compliance

A big update has come out regarding the ambitious Girl Sister Scheme of Maharashtra Government. Around 68 lakh accounts have been closed due to not completing the mandatory e-KYC process, leading to a major change in the number of beneficiaries of the scheme.

According to officials, out of total 2.43 crore accounts, 68 lakh accounts were deactivated for not completing e-KYC by the prescribed deadline. After this, the number of active accounts has now reduced to about 1.75 crore. However, giving relief to the beneficiaries, the government has extended the last date of e-KYC from March 31 to April 30. In such a situation, it is expected that some of the closed accounts may be reactivated.
