
French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron reached Mumbai on Tuesday to visit India. His journey will continue till 19th February. The French President and the First Lady were welcomed at the Mumbai airport by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on Twitter, Hearty welcome to Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France. He was warmly welcomed by the Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, at the Mumbai airport. During this visit, there will be a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Macron. Both the leaders will launch the Year of Innovation 2026. This visit will give further impetus to the active strategic partnership between India and France. This is Macron’s fourth visit to India at the invitation of PM Modi.

What will be the program for the day?
Earlier, officials said that ahead of the event of Prime Minister Modi and French President Macron in Mumbai, the traffic police has decided to change the route and make other arrangements. Today at around 3.15 pm, Macron and Modi will hold a bilateral meeting at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai. Later at 5.15 pm, both the leaders will launch the India-France Year of Innovation (IFVI) 2026 and address business leaders, start-ups, researchers and other innovators from both the countries.
Special arrangements to handle traffic
Special arrangements are being made to manage the traffic during the IFVI event. This event will be organized at the Gateway of India in South Mumbai. According to the traffic police, due to VVIP movement, there may be a problem of traffic jam on nearby routes like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg, P Ramchandani Marg, BK Bom Behram Marg and Mahakavi Bhushan Marg from 2 pm to 9 pm. The stretch beyond Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg will remain closed for all types of vehicles. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed to move in both directions.
These routes can be used
Officials said vehicles can use the alternative route, which starts from Regal Junction, via Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Mahakavi Bhushan Road and Boman Behram Road to reach their destination. The stretch from Alva Chowk to Adam Street Junction will remain closed for all types of vehicles, with only emergency vehicles allowed. Vehicles can take P Ramchandani Marg from Alva Chowk to Radio Club, turn right via Haji Niaz Azmi Road and Jagannath Palav Chowk (Bheed Bhajan Mandir) and reach their destination via Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk and Mahakavi Bhushan Marg.
Taxi stands and BEST bus stops on Adam Street and P Ramchandani Marg will remain closed. There will be no parking on Nathalal Parikh Road, Jagannath Bhosale Road, Captain Prakash Pete Road, Rambhau Salgaonkar Road, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road and BK Boman Behram Road. The road behind Hotel Taj, from Rao Bahadur Desai Chowk to Hotel Diplomat, will remain a no-parking area.
