Shafi Burfat, president of Jay Sindh Muttahida Mahaj (JSMM), has written a letter to the global community. In this, he has accused Pakistan that he has been doing injustice to the local castes and communities (Sindhi, Pashtun, Baloch, Saraiki and Brahui) for the last several decades. He said that Pakistan suppresses these communities in the name of religious unity, marginalize and has been crushing their political rights.
Burfat wrote to the global leaders who participated in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in a letter, ‘When the Prime Minister of Pakistan and other representatives are going to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the world should question Pakistan’s truth. This country is made by pressing its historical communities with deception and manipulation in the name of religion.
He alleged that Pakistani officials are carrying out rigorous political repression, economic exploitation, cultural destruction, demographic manipulation and serious human rights violations on these ‘natives’. The JSMM leader claims that Pakistan is actually a country to serve the interests of a major caste (Punjabis).
He said, ‘Pakistani army, intelligence agencies and diplomatic parties are mainly Punjabi. More than 99 percent of their part keeps this one group dominating politically and socially. He wrote, ‘This whole center of power is in the hands of the same caste, which has created a system that Pakistan pushes all other historical communities into modern slavery and political oppression. Those who talk about secular politics, national movement or social justice have to face the sanctions imposed by the government.
The letter said that political activists, social workers and social media activists often arrest army and state agencies. They are tortured at secret locations, and sometimes their torture and burnt bodies are thrown into remote areas. Also, the cultural heritage, languages and history of these nations are deliberately broken or erased, which is a campaign of state sponsored dictatorship and cruelty.
He appealed to the global community that Pakistan should be considered as ‘a threat to the rights, culture and existence of historical residents’. He warned that without accountability Pakistan is to give a place in international forums to give validity to the system based on repression, exploitation and terror.
He asked the leaders and member countries of the UN Mahasabha to follow the principles of international justice, human rights and equality between nations. Along with this, demanded to support the freedom of oppressed nations and the legitimate fight between self -determination. The JSMM leader also said that Pakistan should be stopped from speaking on any reliable international platform due to its crime extremist terrorists support, training and deployment in the region under state policy.
