Lenovo’s 6 power ,Review) And Lenovo’s 6 Note ,Review) Ko in December Launch After doing, the company launched the Lenovo P2 in India in early 2017. This smartphone was launched in IFA last year and the phone has come to India four months after being launched in the international market.
Your previous smartphone Lenovo Vibe P1 Like P2 smartphone is the most important feature of its big battery. This time, however, Lenovo is also promoting the phone’s design, camera and security features. If you look at the price of Lenovo P2, it will compete with the second popular mid-range smartphone. Will the company’s first smartphone launched in 2017 be able to repeat the success of last year’s successful smartphone? Let’s know in the review.
Lenovo P2 Look and Texture
Lenovo P2 The smartphone is a metal body smartphone. And aluminum material looks good. Talking about the design, there is nothing new in this phone but P2 gives a premium feeling a total. There is a lot of empty space on the top and bottom of the display. A fingerprint scanner in the physical home button is integrated. But there is nothing else on the thick chin of the phone.
The Lenovo P2 has been launched in India in Champagne Gold and Graphite Gray color. With a weight of 177 grams, this phone looks slightly heavier than another smartphone with this price. But one of the reasons for this is a big battery. Lenovo is insisting that the Lenovo P2 is thinner than the previous 9.9 mm coarse Lenovo P1 and is 8.3 millimeters thin. Lenovo P2 feels heavy at the time of normal use and it felt convenient to use it with two hands, especially while typing.
Volume rockers and power buttons are given on the right side of P2, while there is a hybrid SIM tray on the left which supports dual-nano SIM. On the left side is a slider switch which Lenovo has named ‘Power Saving’, allowing ultimate power to tolerate on power saver mode. In this mode, you can see the countdown timer from which the remaining battery keeps getting information. The physical button and all other buttons work well.
The phone has a micro-USB port with a speaker grill at the bottom, while a 3.5mm audio jack is given at the top. The rear has a primary camera with dual-LED flash and the branding of Lenovo can be seen downwards. This smartphone also has a ‘Made in India’ tag. P2’s rear panel design is very similar to the second smartphone of Lenovo.
The 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display given in Lenovo P2 is excellent. The phone can be used without any hassle even in sunlight. Text and photos look quite sharp. And the experience of watching media in the phone is fantastic. The viewing angles are good and the color reproduction also comes correct. There is 2.5D curved glass for the protection of the display. However, we felt disappointed due to lack of scratch protection in the phone and we got some marks in our review process.
In the retail box, the customer will get a screen guard, a cover, a data cable, a 24 watt power adapter, a SIM Ejector and an instruction booklet.
Lenovo P2 specification and feature
The Lenovo P2 has a 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM 8953) processor. It has 3 GB or 4 GB RAM. Both variants have 32 GB storage.
With this processor, many other smartphones have been launched in India. In Asus Zenfone 3 And Moto Z Play ,Review) Includes. The price of both is more than the P2 smartphone.
32 GB of storage can be increased to 128 GB via microSD card. However, hybrid SIM means that the user will have to choose one of one of the second SIM and one microSD card. The rear has a 13 -megapixel camera with dual LED flash and Sony sensor. Apart from this, the front has a 5 megapixel camera.
As a second specification, features like Wi-Fi 802.11 AC/A/B/G/N, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, FM Radio and GPS/A-GPS have been given in the phone. This phone supports 4G as well as VoLTE on both SIM slots. And this can make voice calls through Jio Network.
The Lenovo P2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s vib pure UI. Talking about software, 6 power of software Lenovo in Lenovo P2 (Review) And K6 Note (Review) Like it is. The P2 has an on-screen navigation buttons instead of the capacitive button. Lenovo said in a conversation with Gadgets 360 that P2 is the first smartphone of Lenovo with an on-screen navigation buttons. And it will not have the problem caused by Lenovo’s 6 power and K6 notes due to lack of backlit in capacitive buttons.
The Lenovo setting has a system button option, allowing the position of onscreen button to be replaced or the navigation bar can be hidden. When this setting is enabled, the user must swipe from the bottom to the top to show the hidden button. The P2 has many software features like Lenovo’s 6 power and K6 notes. They also have dual apps so that the user will have to login in the same phone with two different accounts. When the phone is closed, you can activate the phone by double tapping on the screen. VR mode starts supporting the smartphone Ant VR headset. And one-touch shortcut can be used through floating button with wide touch. Apart from this, if the phone is in standby mode, you can tolerate the flashlight to press the home button for a long time.
Lenovo P2 has a security zone feature but this feature will work only when the dual app profile feature is closed. Secure zone feature can configure the secondary account such as WhatsApp. Like the previous Lenovo handset, the user will get the option of a pin, pattern or fingerprint sensor to lock the phone.
You can perform gestures using fingerprint sensor in Lenovo P2. A single tap can act like a back button. And can go back to the home screen with one click. Google now launches by pressing the fingerprint scanner for a long time.
Lenovo has reduced the blotware with the new UI. However, Lenovo P2 already has several third-party apps that can be uninstall. These include Evernote, Macahi Security, Skype, TruColor and UC browser. Apart from this, the phone also has apps like Lenovo Companion, Sharete and Sinkite.
Many setting panels are found in the notification shed with notifications. Theme center app, which pre-loaded in P2 and has many wallpapers, icons, lock screen settings. We found UI quite good and better for everyday use in P2.
Lenovo P2 Performance
Talk about multitasking and general app performance, then Lenovo P2 smartphone performs much better. Adequate memory is available at all times with 4 GB RAM. Watching videos with a 5.5 -inch display and watching photos looks good. We liked in P2 while playing Easfalt 8 and the problem of frame drop at any time was not revealed.
The mobile works well on the network at all times and works well at 4G speed. Talk about the audio, speakers work properly for a small and empty room, but there was some problem on more volumes. Lenovo has once again disappointed with the earphones coming together. And we will advise you to use the third-party headset instead of the headset coming together in the box.
The phone scored brilliantly in the benchmarking test. The 13-megapixel rear camera in the phone works rapidly and focus is due to the phase-detection autofocus. Macro shots can be clicked with detailing at low -light places but landscape shot average. Detailing in pictures is well but noys can be seen on the edges. There are great pictures in less light than P2. Pictures without any artificial lights look quite scattered. Apart from this, we saw that in low light, the P2 smartphone fails to focus on the subject and it caused us disappointment. The camera has correct color reeprodus but only in pictures that were taken in good light.
Lenovo P2 has 6 power and K6 notes of the camera app and it is easy to use. The camera can be accessed only with a tap. Full-HD video can be recorded with a spectacular quality from P2. Selfies taken in good light can be said to be right but quality deteriorates in the dark. Overall, the Lenovo P2 camera works very well while it is not the most special feature of this phone.
This phone has a 5100 mAh non-removable battery which lasted for 21 hours and 40 minutes in our video loop test. At the same time, during normal use, the Lenovo P2 battery lasts for two days.
At the same time, the Lenovo P2 battery lasted for about two hours with music streaming, use of Google Maps and YouTube video streaming apps for use of navigation. Fast charging support is a work feature and it charges 30-40 percent battery in 20 minutes. With this, the phone gets full charge in 90 minutes.
Another importance of P2 is its ultimate power saver mode, which increases the battery life to a great extent. This mode stops features such as cellular data connectivity and sink. Due to this mode being active, only basic functions like calls, text messages and radio work work, but it is very useful in emergency. When we have 20 percent battery in the phone, we get an option of ultimate power saver mode and after that the device remained active for about 20 hours.
Our decision
If you talk about battery performance, then Lenovo P2 is a great smartphone. Those users who prefer to stay online all the time without worrying about the battery being finished, then they will like the P2 smartphone. It can also be a good option for people traveling most of the time. Talk about overall performance, P2 can prove to be a good phone for everyday use with octa-core processor. A phone in which more attention has been paid to battery life, the camera gives good performance in it and its software is also easy to use.
The price of Lenovo P2 starts at Rs 16,999 and has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The 4 GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 17,999. This smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart from Wednesday night.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, Asus Zenfone 3 Max And old Xiaomi Mi 5 Smartphones are other phones with this price that can compete with it.
