Among them, government jobs and employment to local youth are also a big issue. Although an attempt was made by the Central Government to solve their employment issue by bringing a domicy policy in May this year, but people are demanding separate Ladakh Public Service Commission and Ladakh Staff Selection Commission.

Shortly before, the reins of this movement were taken over by eminent environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk and he was sitting on a hunger strike demanding Ladakh to be made a full state and to be included in the sixth schedule of the Constitution.
