
Taking important decisions on Friday, the state cabinet has approved an increase of 18 percent in passenger bus fares. MLA fund has been increased from Rs 1 crore to Rs 4 crore. Green signal has been given to increase the daily allowances and medical facilities of ministers and MLAs. Approval has also been given to establish six new cities. The government had kept this scheme in the budget.
The cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of CM Omar Abdullah at the Chief Minister’s residence. The increase in passenger fare was approved after discussion. The recommendation to fix the fare for e-rickshaw at Rs 15 per kilometer, for e-auto at Rs 25 for the first kilometer and Rs 20 for the subsequent kilometer came from the transport department. This was also passed in the cabinet.
Chief Minister Omar directed the associate ministers to bring reforms in the field of public service delivery and work with administrative efficiency. Now these decisions will be sent by the government to the Lieutenant Governor for approval. These decisions will be implemented after getting approval from Lok Bhavan.
Instructions to complete stuck projects before 31st
In the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to increase the pace of spending money in the Special Assistance Scheme to States for Capital Investment (SASCI). In this, ministers have been asked to complete the projects stuck in the departments before March 31. The state government has stressed on focusing on spending the central scheme funds in the next 17 days. Ministers were instructed to spend the budget within the stipulated time.
Government will send proposals for schemes worth Rs 3,000 crore to the Centre.
Under SASCI, it was decided to prepare a blueprint of schemes worth Rs 3,000 crore in the coming financial year and propose them to the Centre. The state government has included this amount in the budget. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Chaudhary, Health Minister Sakina Ittu, Ministers Javed Ahmed Rana, Javed Ahmed Dar, Satish Sharma and Chief Secretary Atal Dullu were present in the meeting.
136 posts will be created in GMC Jammu and Srinagar
The Cabinet has decided to create 136 posts in Jammu Medical College (GMC), Jammu and GMC Srinagar. These include 10 posts of Professor in GMC Jammu and 17 in Srinagar, 36 posts of Associate Professor in GMC Jammu and 73 in Srinagar.

MLAs need funds to help: Satish Sharma
After the cabinet meeting, Sports and Transport Minister Satish Sharma said that people keep coming and going to ministers and MLAs. Someone is suffering from cancer and someone wants help for some other disease. In such a situation, if there are no funds, how will help be provided? He said, important decisions have been taken in the cabinet. In these, it has been talked about providing facilities to the people including setting up new cities. Cabinet decisions will be sent to the Lieutenant Governor for approval and after that the decisions will be made public.
