After the high alert issued by intelligence agencies, the security arrangements of religious city Katra and Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan have been tightened unprecedentedly. Every visitor is being monitored. According to intelligence inputs, terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba is planning to target major religious places of the country including Chandni Chowk in Delhi, especially Vaishno Devi Bhawan. After this warning, police, CRPF and intelligence agencies are on alert mode.

To tighten security, additional military contingents have been deployed from the entry gates of Katra to the building complex. The quick response team has been kept fully alert. Every suspicious activity is being closely monitored 24 hours a day through the Integrated Command and Control Center through hundreds of CCTV cameras installed on the Yatra route.

Intensive search of workers and vehicles

Security forces are continuously checking not only the devotees but also the horse, stooge and palanquin workers serving on the yatra route. All the police outposts adjacent to Katra are being blocked and every vehicle coming and going is being searched thoroughly. The security officials have held a meeting and given clear instructions that there will be no compromise with security at any level.

Safety of devotees is top priority

Police, CRPF and Intelligence Department teams are jointly monitoring the building premises. Additional soldiers have been deployed. Continuous patrolling is being done at all the sensitive places till Dharmanagari. Senior officials of police and security forces held a meeting, reviewed the security arrangements and issued necessary guidelines. The officials clearly said that no compromise will be made on security. The main objective of the administration is to ensure that the journey of the devotees coming from all over the country and the world remains completely safe and pleasant. He has also appealed to the passengers to immediately report any suspicious object or person to the security forces.
