The record for the highest individual score by a wicketkeeper-batsman in the T20 World Cup is in the name of New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum. In the match between New Zealand and Bangladesh played in Pallekele on 21 September 2012, McCullum scored 123 runs on 58 balls. England’s Jos Buttler has also scored a century as a wicketkeeper-batsman in the T20 World Cup. He achieved this feat against Sri Lanka in Sharjah on 1 November 2021.

Ishan Kishan scored a fifty in the power play in this match. Ishan Kishan has become the third Indian batsman to score a fifty in the powerplay in the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have done this before in 2024 and 2021 respectively. This was the second time in T20 International, when Ishan Kishan scored a half-century in the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma and Rohit Sharma have achieved this feat thrice each. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal are the other Indian batsmen to do so.
