Iran US War: Iran’s ‘city of weapons’ under the sea, shocked the world by releasing footage of suicide drones

Iran’s army gave important information to the world on Thursday. Iran has said that it has a large stockpile of suicide drone bots. They are being used to stop enemy countries in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s government TV channel also released a footage regarding this. It has been filmed in an underground complex. Officials call it a missile city.

What is visible in the footage?

There are long tunnels in these pictures. These include naval drones, anti-ship missiles and sea-based landmines. In this footage some weapons were shown being launched. However, it is not confirmed when these pictures were launched. There is a picture of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in this complex. Below these pictures there is a naval drone on a trailer.

These naval drones are called unmanned surface vehicles or USVs. They attacked two oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. These ships were trying to pass through the narrow passage. These ships move either on the surface of the water or just below it. These contain explosive material. Their purpose is to burst after colliding.

On March 1, a crude oil tanker registered MKD VYOM was attacked 44 nautical miles off the coast of Oman in the Marshall Islands. Britain’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said an unmanned surface vehicle attacked the ship just above the water’s surface. This caused an explosion in the engine room. After this a fire broke out. One crew member was killed in this incident.

A few days later, the Bahamas-flagged crude oil tanker Sonangol Namibe was attacked. When it was standing anchored near Khor Al Zubair port in Iraq. The operator of the ship says that all 23 crew members are safe.

What information did the maritime authorities give?

Naval drones have been used in at least two attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf since the current conflict between the US, Israel and Iran began, maritime officials have said. This entire incident is similar to the attacks carried out by Ukraine against Russian forces and on ships in the Red Sea by Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Iran has threatened to stop the supply of oil from the Strait of Hormuz. This is the fifth oil supplying area in the world.
