New Delhi. The schedule for the 19th edition of IPL will be announced after some time. After the T20 World Cup, now everyone’s eyes are on IPL where 10 teams will be seen trying hard for a trophy. Many teams have started organizing training camps for IPL, in which Chennai Super Kings is at the forefront. Due to the upcoming assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the tournament schedule is likely to be announced in two phases.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will enter IPL 19 as the defending champions, while Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will be the most successful teams (both have won five titles each). RCB is expected to play only a few of their matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, while Raipur will host their home matches.
Earlier on Tuesday, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that the Indian Cricket Board will announce the schedule of the first 20 days of the tournament within the next two to three days keeping in mind the election dates in some states. Saikia told news agency ANI, ‘Keeping in mind the election dates in some states, we will announce the schedule of the first 20 days of the IPL in two to three days and will announce the schedule of the rest of the tournament later.’
