India has to play its second match in the ICC T20 World Cup against Namibia on Thursday. The team, which started with a win against America, practiced under flood lights on Tuesday evening. Abhishek Sharma is admitted in the hospital and did not attend this session. There is doubt about his playing.
India has intensified preparations for the match against Namibia in the 2026 T20 World Cup. On Tuesday, the team trained completely under lights at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, two days before the Group A league match. The Indian team will be playing the match in the evening, hence the practice has also been scheduled accordingly.
The good news for the Indian team is that two star players of the team are returning fit. Experienced fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was out of the last match due to ill health, took part in the practice. Washington Sundar, who was returning from injury, was also seen in the nets with the team in practice.
Left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma did not participate in this session because he had to be admitted to the hospital due to ill health. Due to this, there is doubt about his availability in Thursday’s match. Abhishek played against America in Mumbai, but he was out without scoring and has been ill since then. Wednesday’s practice is still pending, so it remains to be seen whether he will be brought back into the team or not.

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma batted brilliantly especially against wrist spinner Varun Chakraborty. Suryakumar easily slog swept Varun behind square, while Tilak hit a long six that landed in the upper part of the stadium. His fellow players praised him a lot for this.
Sanju Samson batted for more than half an hour against the fast bowlers. He looked a little cautious initially, but later confidently hit Hardik Pandya over extra cover and flicked Arshdeep Singh brilliantly.
Samson later looked more confident against spin. He stepped forward and took shots against Varun and Akshar Patel. This is a good sign as Namibia use left arm spinner Bernard Scholtz in the powerplay, especially if Abhishek is not available.
Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey and Hardik Pandya batted later in the practice session. Bumrah is back in full swing, Washington Sundar is getting comfortable in the team and Abhishek is still recovering. In such a situation, India’s coaching staff faces important decisions regarding team selection before Thursday’s match against Namibia. The good thing is that he has one day’s time to decide the playing eleven.
The Indian team trained under the lights in Delhi, behind this there was a special strategy of the team management along with coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar. India has to play the match against Namibia from 7 pm. To enable the team players to adapt to the match, the practice was kept from 6 pm onwards.
