US President Donald Trump confirmed there will be no changes in the trade agreement with India despite the Supreme Court’s sweeping tariff decision. He said ‘India Deal is on’ and it is still being fully implemented. Trump told a press conference at the White House on Friday that his relationship with India is excellent and both the countries are doing business. He said India stopped importing oil from Russia and took it back on US request, to stop the deadly war in which 25,000 people were dying every month.
Use of tariff to stop India-Pakistan war
Trump also claimed that he used tariffs to prevent a possible war between India and Pakistan. He said that so far I have ended eight wars through tariffs, including those with serious, nuclear situations like India and Pakistan. Pakistan’s Prime Minister said that Trump saved 3.5 crore lives. These tariffs were also helpful in strengthening America’s national security.

Earlier, on February 20, 2026, the court declared Trump’s sweeping global tariffs unconstitutional, which dealt a major blow to his economic policies. Responding to this decision, Trump said that his arguments were not heard properly in the Supreme Court. He described the decision as disappointing and discouraging. Trump even said that he did not expect such a decision and also raised questions on the attitude of some of the judges who gave the decision.
