ICC action on Salman Aga.
New Delhi. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken action and imposed severe punishment on Pakistan cricket team batsman Salman Ali Aga. Actually, Salman was seen very angry after being run out during the second ODI match between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Dhaka, after which he wrongly threw the helmet and gloves on the ground. Not only this, while going to the dug out, he also did the same near the boundary line, due to which he had to bear the brunt of rebuke and one demerit point from the ICC.
Why did Salman get embarrassed after being run out?
This incident happened in the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings, when Salman Agha was batting with Mohammad Rizwan. Mohammad Rizwan played the fourth ball of Mehdi Hasan Miraj in the direction of the bowler. While trying to catch the ball, Miraj fought with Salman Ali Aga standing outside the non-strike crease. The ball had stopped, so Agha gave up his intention of taking a single and started picking up the ball himself and giving it to Miraj. Meanwhile, Miraj picked up the ball and hit it on the wicket and also appealed for runout. Agha was outside the crease and after an appeal he was declared runout by the third umpire. Agha was trying to pass the ball to the bowler and was run out. Therefore the decision is being considered against the spirit of the game. Agha looked very angry after being run out and also used harsh words towards Bangladeshi players.

He also said, ‘Salman Agha has no record of such behavior in the past, so he was only given a reprimand and one demerit point.’ This mistake comes under Level-1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which includes minor mistakes that occur during international matches. Article 2.2 deals with misbehavior with cricket equipment, clothing or field objects during a match.
What did Salman Aga say?
After the match, Salman Aga gave his reaction on this matter. Salman Aga said while talking to the media, ‘I think there should be sportsmanship. He was trying to give the ball back to Mehdi. In such a situation it could have been declared dead. He further said, ‘The ball hit my pad and then my bat. So I felt that he could not run me out now, because the ball had already hit my pad and my bat. I was just trying to give them the ball back. I was not looking for runs, but he had already decided to run out.
Aga said, ‘Whatever Bangladesh has done is within the law. I think if they feel it’s right, then it’s right, but from my perspective, I would have done it differently. I would go for the spirit of the game. We have never done anything like this before, and will never do anything like this in the future. Regarding his anger, Salman said, ‘At that moment I reacted in anger. That time has given me some perspective. Some things should be handled differently.
