Faridkot News: A new crisis has emerged regarding the supply of LPG cylinders in Faridkot, Punjab. It is being told that the impact of the ongoing war between Israel and Iran in the Middle East is now visible in Punjab. The supply of commercial LPG cylinders in Faridkot has currently been stopped, due to which many businessmen are facing problems.
According to local gas agency operators, 19 kg commercial cylinders have not been received by the agencies for the last two days. Oil companies have sent a message to agency operators asking them not to order commercial cylinders at present.
Online booking mandatory under new guidelines
In view of the increasing tension between Iran and Israel, the government has implemented some new rules regarding LPG cylinders. According to the new guidelines, now gas cylinders will be supplied to consumers only after online booking.
Gas agency operators said that the cylinder will be given only on the basis of DAC code received after online booking. Along with this, consumers have been appealed to complete their e-KYC as soon as possible, so that they do not face any problem in future.
Domestic gas supply normal at present
In this matter, Sanjeev Jain, director of Jain Gas Agency of Faridkot, said that at present there has been no major impact on the supply of domestic gas. Cylinders are being delivered to consumers within 1-2 days of booking.
He said that due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, the supply of oil from abroad has been affected, but the country still has sufficient reserves, due to which the supply of domestic gas continues. However, at present the supply of cylinders for commercial activities has been temporarily stopped.
Change in domestic gas quota also possible
According to agency operator Sanjeev Jain, now domestic gas cylinders will be supplied only after online booking. For this, it will be mandatory for consumers to complete the e-KYC process. Without e-KYC, there may be problems in cylinder delivery.
He said that at present there is no major shortage of domestic gas and consumers are getting cylinders regularly. However, in the coming time, considering the availability of gas, the government may impose a fixed quota for domestic cylinders.
Next cylinder will be available only after 26 days
According to Jaspal Sethi, director of Malwa Gas Agency, Kotkapura, under the new rules, now domestic consumers will have to wait for at least 26 days to get the next cylinder. Earlier, consumers could book a new cylinder the very next day after receiving the delivery of the cylinder, but now this facility has been removed. It is believed that this rule has been implemented keeping in mind the possible shortage of gas.
