Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis became emotional while remembering Ajit Pawar, the National President of the Nationalist Congress Party and the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. During the budget session of the Maharashtra Legislature, he said in the Assembly that the void created by the demise of the grandfather due to missing the time of his life, which was established in the political field and was expected to play big innings in the future, is clearly visible.
He said that in the play ‘Swapnavasavadattam’ by the great poet Bhasa, there is a well said that ‘When wood burns, the fire burns only the body, but the grief of a friend also burns the heart and soul.’ The same situation is in front of me today due to the demise of Ajit Pawar. Losing a true friend and fellow traveler like Ajitdada is not just a political loss but is a matter that pains the hearts of all of us. Time heals some wounds, but the pain of Ajitdada’s departure will never diminish.
He said that I don’t know where to start speaking today. There is a storm in the mind. Never imagined that I would have to speak on such a condolence motion. Whenever the eyes went to the adjacent seat in the house, Dada was seen sitting there. The House used to run from morning till late night, but he remained standing at his place. Today unfortunately he is not among us.
CM said- ‘Now the responsibility has fallen on me…’
He said that this year Ajit Pawar Presenting his 12th budget and presenting his 13th budget next year, he would equal the record of Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede. It is possible that he would have become the Finance Minister who presented the highest budget. But due to his sudden demise Budget The responsibility of presenting has now fallen on me.
Fadnavis said that Ajit Dada never backed down from taking difficult decisions. Even when there was a suggestion to reconsider the financial burden of ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, he took a concrete decision and placed it before the Cabinet. After the planning started, he started wearing pink jacket and made us wear it too. All these things are in my memories now.
He said that often we say that ‘the place has become vacant’ on the demise of a leader, but in reality when a person with established, influential and strong leadership like Ajitdada goes away, the true meaning is understood. This is not only a constitutional responsibility, but also a very emotional moment for me.
