Haryana-Punjab Weather Update: In Hisar, Haryana, the mercury dropped to 1.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, causing severe cold. Apart from the state, many parts of neighboring state Punjab are also in the grip of severe cold. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in some districts of both the states. In Haryana today (December 13), the minimum temperature in Chandigarh is expected to be 4 degrees and the maximum temperature is likely to be 23 degrees Celsius.

While in Hisar the minimum temperature is 2 degrees and maximum temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, in Karnal the minimum temperature is 3 degrees and the maximum temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, in Ambala the minimum temperature is 7 degrees and the maximum temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, in Ludhiana the minimum temperature is 6 degrees and the maximum temperature is 22 degrees. Degree Celsius, minimum temperature in Patiala is expected to be 5 degree and maximum temperature is 22 degree Celsius, minimum temperature in Amritsar is expected to be 4 degree and maximum temperature is 20 degree Celsius.

Effect of cold wave in these districts
According to meteorology, the effect of cold wave is being seen in Haryana-Punjab. Cold wave is affecting Punjab’s Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Firozpur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and ASS Nagar. Whereas in Haryana, Ambala, Hisar, Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Bhiwani are also affected by cold wave.

What was the temperature yesterday?
According to the report of the Meteorological Department, apart from other places in Haryana, winter continues in Karnal also, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 3.6 degrees Celsius. At other places in the state, the minimum temperature was recorded much below normal. On Thursday, the maximum temperature at most places in both the states remained between 19-22 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Rohtak was 4.4 degrees Celsius, in Sirsa it was four degrees Celsius while in Ambala the minimum temperature was 7.8 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, the joint capital of Haryana and Punjab, also had a cold night and the temperature was recorded at 4.7 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 3 degrees Celsius in Faridkot, Punjab, 4.3 degrees Celsius in Pathankot, 4.6 degrees Celsius in Bathinda and 4.5 degrees Celsius in Patiala. The minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at five degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Ludhiana was 6.2 degrees Celsius.
