Mahaveer Hanuman Temple: Today we are going to tell you the story of a Hanuman temple whose history has been told from Tretayuga. Legend has it that in this temple, Shri Ram’s younger brother Shatrughan is present in the form of Mahavir. That’s why the idol of Hanuman ji here is carrying a bow and arrow and not a mace. This idol is also said to have emerged from a rock.

Mata Bambarabeni, member of Lavkush Nagar Committee and former Chief Municipal Officer, Matadin Vishwakarma, while talking to Local 18, tells that the history of Lavkush Nagar city is linked to Mata Bambarabeni. Actually, Mother Bambarabeni was Mother Sita. In Ramayana, Valmiki Ashram is mentioned as Chitrakoot. And this place is 150 km away from Chitrakoot. The premises of Valmiki Ashram used to be located here also. Here is Maa Bambarabeni hill. Where saints and sages used to do penance but in front of this hill there is another hill where a demon named Lavanasur lived. Every day this demon used to obstruct the penance and yagya-havan worship of the sages and saints.

Sages and saints took refuge in Ramji
Then one day all the sages, sages and saints went to seek refuge in Lord Shri Ram. Lord Shri Ram Ji assured him to do his penance without any worries. I send my younger brother Shatrughan to kill Lavanasura. As soon as Shatrughan is informed, he sets out to kill Lavanasura.

killed Lavanasur
All the sages welcome Shatrughan and also give information about the hill where Lavanasura lived. After this a fierce battle takes place between Shatrughan and Lavanasura. In which Lavanasura is killed and Shatrughan wins. All the sages, sages and devotees request Shatrughan Maharaj that they want to install you in front of this hill. After this, the idol of Shatrughan Maharaj appears from a big rock. After which Lord Shatrughan is installed here and later a temple is also built here.

Famous as Mahavir Temple
The priest of the temple says that this temple is of Lord Shatrughan but now this temple has come to be known as Mahavir Temple. Most of the people do not look at this idol carefully and mistake it for the idol of Hanuman ji. Whereas in this idol, Lord Shatrughan is carrying a bow and arrow and not a mace. Still, those who do not know about this idol consider it to be Hanuman temple.
