Another major case of digital arrest has come to light in Gwalior. A 90-year-old retired Air Force man has been digitally arrested along with his wife. Cyber ​​​​thugs, posing as Delhi CBI officers, cheated them of fraud on their documents and then defrauded Rs 2 crore 52 lakh 16. He was under digital arrest from January 28 till today. After realizing the fraud, he complained about it to the cyber crime police. The cyber crime police have registered a case against unknown fraudsters and started action.

Recently, 90 year old Narayan Mahadev Tikekar, resident of Winters Hills of Gwalior city, has retired from the post of radiologist of the Air Force Medical Department. On January 28, 2026, Narayan received a WhatsApp call. The caller introduced himself as an officer of Delhi CBI. The cyber thug who turned CBI officer said that the documents have been fraudulent by him and he is being arrested in this case. When he got scared by this, the thugs said that he was a senior citizen and hence he was being digitally arrested because he was old. After this, he took all the information on WhatsApp video call and then asked him to transfer the money he had. After action, the entire money will be returned to them.

On this trust, within 27 days from January 28 till now, he transferred Rs 2 crore 52 lakh 16 thousand to the swindlers on different dates. When the bank officials became suspicious of him going to the bank five times and withdrawing such a huge amount, he was interrogated. At first he refused to tell anything, but later he told the whole truth to the bank people. Then the bank people told that there is no such digital arrest and they have been cheated by cyber thugs. Then he realized that a big fraud had happened to him, after which he reached the cyber crime police station and complained. On the basis of his complaint, the cyber crime police have registered a case against unknown thugs and started searching for the accused.
